My stories are not sweet or kind, they are dark and, at times, cruel. They deal with uncomfortable subjects and I do not apologise for it.

Neglected Consequences by L. Ann was a fantastic surprise for the fans of the Forgotten Legacy series. I was so excited about this book, i have read the entire series several times and I didn’t even realize that there were issues that needed to be resolved. This book just made me love the series more.
This book was an emotional rollercoaster. It was hard to read at times, super emotional, and completely unforgettable. You will cry, you will feel, and you will fall in love and by the end, your broken heart will be mended. This book touched me and I can’t recommend it enough. The writing was fabulous, the story was intense and powerful, and it was captivating and unputdownable.
This story is told in Multi POV’s and has a HEA. I would recommend this book and the entire Forgotten Legacy series.

Neglected Consequences by L.Ann is the oops book in the Forgotten Legacy Series. It expands a backstory that you didn't realise you needed while checking in on our favourite rock stars .It's a book that invokes all the emotions, so have tissues handy. It'll take you through the wringer but finishes with a HEA.
This book deals with past traumas and although they are heartbreaking and haunting, the author has handled it so beautifully that by the conclusion of the story, you have gained new insights into the characters and why they are who they are. It also builds on the amazing relationships between the characters, and those chapters, especially from their earlier years, are the true highlight of the book for me.
I devoured this book in one sitting, and while it was glorious, I'm sad now that it's done. Definitely one for your must-read and re-read lists.

Wow
What a amazing ending.
The blurb I felt was more dramatic and a bit misleading, as nothing truly awful happens.
But what does happen, is a roller coaster of emotions. I love, love, loved the different point of views as it have a insight as to what's happening with the other hand mates.
Seth, I just wanted to wrap him up and hug him. I think his story was the most heart wrenching. I also think he grew the most out of all of them, regarding the steps he chose to take.
I think the only thing that would of made it a perfect ending was it Harper was pregnant, as the Dr had said it's a very slim chance.

Ugh! This book
I don't know what to say that I haven't already said or that others have not already said but L. Ann you have a gift and/or talent whatever you want to call it and I hope you never stop. The emotions I feel from your books are 👏👏👏 You weren't lying when you said get tissues ugh😩 Mind the trigger warnings on this one please! You WILL enjoy this book! Thank you again for an AMAZING story filled with AMAZING people that are relatable.

Roller-coaster of emotions!
This book was a surprise and it was a book that I didn't know I needed. My heart broke and then was repaired and soaring with such emotion. I thoroughly recommend this series you will not be disappointed!

HOLY EMOTIONS!
wow ive loved and devoured this series and love each and every character that was involved but Seth and Gabe are by far my favs (i know i know you shouldn't have favourites 🙈 but i cant help it)
This guys separately together warm my heart but together, their friendship blows me away!
I thought it was all over at the end of the last book but the excitement was seriously real with this surprise extra story and i am yet again lost now its all over.
The emotional rollercoaster that these guys go on it crazy, who knew that Seth was holding onto so much hurt and sadness?
I really just want to jump right back into book 1 and start the journey all over all.
Highly recommend this series!

I don’t normally comment on the books I read but I have to say this series was one of the best I’ve every read. I don’t even know where to start. I laughed and cried and got angry. This 6th book was such a surprise. I have to say I wish there were a 7th book. I did not want this series to end

Forgotten Legacy Forever
Gabe. Seth. Dex. Luca.
Harper. Riley. Siobhan. Everly.
Forgotten Legacy spanned 5 books and 3 shorts. From Tattooed Memories to Broken Halo, we traveled through childhood abuse, drug addiction, suicide, and lost & found love. Tragedy struck many times and relationships were tested, but through it all the binds that tied the four men together held strong and grew to become intertwined with the women who claimed their hearts. Each of those books were love stories that had the couple meeting, overcoming challenges, and eventually finding their HEAs. Okay, it actually took all 5 books for Gabe and Harper to truly get to their HEA, but they did. These books have become favorites of mine and I’ve lost count of all the rereads and times I’ve listened to them. To me, they aren’t separate books, just one continuing story.
I thought the Forgotten Legacy tale was finished, but I learned my lesson. ALWAYS read and REMEMBER what L. Ann writes at the end of her books. At the end of Broken Halo, she wrote, “Does that mean this is the end? For the moment, maybe. But I can guarantee we haven’t seen the last of them. There is something else that needs to be shared, but the time isn’t right. Give it a while, let them settle into their roles and then we’ll be back to visit them.”
A year after Broken Halo, Neglected Consequences was revealed. It was a surprise, very welcomed by me, and I’m sure others, because our Forgotten Legacy family was back. This is not a book that can be read as a stand-alone. It has to be read in order of the series. Yes, all the guys make an appearance, but not as in the previous books. This isn’t a romance book or typical love story in any way. It’s not like the previous books in the series. It’s the book I wasn’t expecting and didn’t know I needed. It’s a story about Seth having to face his traumatic past and the way he deals with it. It’s the story about how those who love him and are closest to him, deal with what he’s going through and support him as they always will. It’s the story about two boys who bonded when they first met and grew to become the brothers they never had. It’s the story of facing your demons and learning to forgive yourself. It’s the story of learning life keeps throwing you curve balls and realizing that you can always hit it out of the park, even if you think they called a strike. This isn’t an easy read, because we get more glimpses into Seth’s childhood and get to see Gabe dealing with neglected consequences from his life.
Neglected Consequences…damn if L. Ann doesn’t always come up with a title that perfectly sums up her stories, especially our Forgotten Legacy guys. I’m just going to accept the fact that this is a group of guys that continues to live rent free in her mind and may appear again in the future, especially when I REMEMBER she put this at the end of Neglected Consequences, “PS ... guess what? There’s another book coming ... ;)” I have no idea if that refers to Forgotten Legacy or another of her creations, but I’m here for it.

Forgotten Legacy guitarist Seth Hawkins' past has haunted him in the most tormenting way. While he achieved success beyond his wildest dreams it did not come easy or without the pain that constantly plagued his heart. When his worst nightmare came to life his coping skills were tested and his unconventional way of dealing with his past trauma led to a story filled with being confronted with the horrors he tried so hard to compartmentalize and ignore.
What stood out in this story was the undying loyalty of those few people Seth formed bonds with and a family of his own making. Seth was no longer alone and without resources and while the bulk of what needed to be dealt with needed to be done by Seth he had an unwavering group of people by his side. Secrets became glaringly apparent and issues long masked crept out into the light but throughout it all Seth's resilience was proven. There was so much emotion in this story and L. Ann handled very sensitive subject matter with honesty and kindness.
This author is all about ripping away the Band-Aid, her stories are raw and at times brutally real. The Forgotten Legacy series never feels like it is done and is a constant work in progress. L. Ann is a writer who often evolves her portrayals and their stories and that is the case with Neglected Consequences. Committing to her works is well worth the emotional investment and while her subject matter can be difficult her books are always meaningful. L. Ann takes her readers on a dark journey in Neglected Consequences even while showing them that sometimes you need to face your demons to find your happiness.

I loved this addition to the series. I have noted in each review how detailed, complex, and nuanced this story, the plot, and characters are. This book added so much more and answered so many questions and thoughts the readers were having. I find so many romance novels (e.g., rockstar, small town, mafia) very superficial and the story/plot/characters are flat. This series created such a unique and details world that I could NOT PUT DOWN! This story was everything we needed that we didn't know we needed. This book was a really special addition.
We learn so much more about:
- Seth's childhood trauma
- How Seth and Gabe built their relationship, love, and brotherhood with each other
- Why Gabe licks Seth. THANKS L. Ann for sharing this detail with us!
- Seth’s reaction to Riley not sharing her age. We learned about why in Seth’s book, but this book we are given so more to fully understand. I’m rethinking Seth’s book and connecting so many more dots. I love when a new book makes me analyze and think through a previous book.

This is the Forgotten Legacy book you never knew how much you needed. This book is a surprise. It felt like the series was finished. It felt like each member of the band had their HEA. Then along came this book and gave so much more for Gabe and Seth. There was an ocean of healing that needed to be done and new possibilities for these two characters.
We already know both men survived different forms of childhood abuse. Both carry the emotional and physical scars. This books gives room for ghosts to be laid to rest and for the process of healing and being more than survivors to begin. This book is rock bottom for Seth. But is also his new beginning.
Gabe comes to this book already having done a lot of his hard emotional work. But there are still loose ends to be tied. Things that Gabe isnt even aware of. This book heals for him too and presents new possibilities for his onward journey.
Forgotten Legacy were in a good place at the end of book 5. But this gives them a better emotional health. This isnt so much the love stories, but the men themselves. Harper and Riley are where they are meant to be. Alongside their other halves. They still have their challenges and they still have their fair share of incredible passion with their men. But this isnt so much about relationship drama as being the support system needed to help with healing and acceptance.

First of all WOW just WOW you ended up giving me something I didn't even know I wanted! I love it and don't want to give much away but at first I feel like I was clenching my teeth and getting teary eyed just thinking about what Seth went through and I even said in my head "do we really need to know these details!?" It was hard to read. Ugh I'm surprised I didn't cry but once I continued I felt like I couldn't stop and I just had to know. I read this book so fast and that authors note at the end!!!!! Eeeeek there's going to be mooooore!!!!! I honestly love it so so much and wish the guys were real so I could just hug them and fangirl scream at them lmao 😂 I think Gabe would forgive me.
I can't wait for more.

This was such a fantastic surprise from L. Ann. It was everything I didn’t know I needed but couldn’t have ask for a better ending for this beloved group of Rockstars!
It was so nice to be back with Forgotten Legacy and see more from Seth and Gabe. This author never fails to amaze. Her writing is just fantastic and the amount of emotion she give us through her characters and stories is beyond wonderful. I love feeling even more connected to them. This book was captivating, I read it so fast didn’t want to put it down.
I was hit will all the feelings in this one (some difficult topics are discussed). It perfectly summed everything up, and showcased some truly amazing relationships between the characters. I can’t say enough good things.
This is book 6 in the Forgotten Legacy series and MUST be read in order. I highly recommend this whole series, especially is you are a fan of super hot, broken bad boy rockstars with trauma in the pasts and beautiful told stories of overcoming struggles and finding love.

This is book 6 in the Forgotten Legacy series and MUST be read in order. I highly recommend this whole series, especially is you are a fan of super hot, broken bad boy rockstars with trauma in the pasts and beautiful told stories of overcoming struggles and finding love.

This is the story you never knew you needed. A bromance to last the ages and fill your Forgotten Legacy loving soul. If you love the boys as much as I do, you need to read this story.
Nothing is ever easy for the boys and life has a way of coming for blood. This story dives deep into some very sensitive topics so check your triggers before reading. The author expands on previously talked about tough subjects but does so in a way that doesn’t cheapen the story or demoralize any real life individuals who have experienced the things that our boys have gone through. She gives her characters real trauma and real emotions. My heart hurt for some of the things that these boys were put through.
Though not your typical romance, there are plenty of spicy scenes and love between the couples. We get some heartbreaking moments and some moments that are so sweet that you can’t help but cry. The author never disappoints and this book was another masterpiece.

The series was done...until this surprise.
I've read surprise series books many times. I love them. They're usually light hearted quips about babies, honeymoons, vacations that type of thing. So I had expectations.
Well, let me tell you this book had not one moment I expected. It was fucking brilliant but I won't be telling you a thing about it. I'll share one quote, just one. For me, it says it all. For you, I hope I have convinced you to pick up this series from the beginning. You can't read this one without the rest and it's worth it. So very worth it.

Neglected Consequences is a powerful and moving story about love, loss, and healing.
This whole series has well-developed and relatable characters.
And this is no exception. Full of twists and turns, heart-stopping moments, high angst, family, and friendship - all the things we love about Ann's writing.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good love story with a dark edge.

Seth’s childhood was the most horrific life any child could experience. In fact, I don’t think any adult could survive that kind of abuse. He survived because he had to protect his sister and the other kids in that basement. Now a famous rockstar and his demons are more present than ever, why can’t they leave him alone. Riley wants to help him and so does the rest of his band brothers, but he’s pushing them away. I feel for Seth, this story is hard to read. I love that this story is also about Gabe & Frosty, my favorite couple. Love what’s going on with Gabe, never saw that coming. It was really cool reading about Gabe & Seth when they were young and how they came to be these two strong personalities. This story was absolutely perfect and so many loose ends closed. I want more of Tate, he sounds so adorable. I loved this story and I’m giving it five stars, I highly recommend it.

I loved this book. The whole Forgotten Legacy series is amazing and one of my favourite rock star romances ever!! This book featured mainly Seth and Gabe and I loved the dynamics between them. This helped to understand them so much better. My heart broke at times for Seth and all that he had been through. I was so glad to see the relationship between Gabe and Harper seemed so much better and Seth and Riley was heartwarming they made a perfect couple. The book gave me all the feels and being a surprise release was such a great treat! I highly recommend this book and series. Was there a teaser for me to come- yes please!!!

Another masterpiece of a book by L. Ann.
This book provides everything Forgotten Legacy wise, that you didn’t know you needed and more.
Of all the Forgotten Legacy boys Seth has always occupied a soft spot in my heart and having read Neglected Consequences that is even more so now. However Gabe has managed to muscles his way in there too (just nobody tell L. Ann that!). Neglected Consequences provided a further insight into a different side of Mr Mercer.
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would

So good I have already read it twice and when the audiobook comes out I’ll be diving back in!
We had said goodbye to Forgotten Legacy’s world. An amazing world that is full of emotion and heat and just love. Unconditional love. To say I was surprised when L.Ann dropped the bomb that the guys were back was a huge surprise but a welcomed one!!!!
This story has all the markers for a stellar addition to the series. Heart, conflict, smexy times and true everlasting friendships. When the past comes back to haunt them, they handle it like they do everything else with brute force from a place of love. I’m not giving anything away but be prepared to feel all the feels. The good the bad and the heart breaking because this story is full of them.
This is the next chapter in the saga you didn’t know you needed but are so glad you got! Blown away!

Neglected Consequences........well this is exactly what happens when you have ends to be tied....another book!!! I love this. This is not a stand alone, you must read from the start of the Forgotten Legacy series. Tattooed Memories to be exact.

Just when you thought that was the end for Forgotten Legacy along comes L. Ann and surprises you or more like shocks you with another book. This book ties up a few loose ends as well as features Seth and his traumatic past so beware to get emotional as Seth goes through a tirade of emotions pushing all those that love him away. I have to say this was a book you never you knew needed and it’s great to see everyone get their happy ever afters in this final instalment of the Forgotten Legacy series , or is it the final you never know with L. Ann .

Per usual… I’m left speechless. This book doesn’t just tug at your emotions… it rips them out of your body over and over again (in the best way possible). I was content with how the series ended with Broken Halo, then surprise! Here’s Neglected Consequences! This book gave me the answers I didn’t even know I was missing. What wasn’t a surprise was that L. Ann knocked it out of the park… again. Please check triggers! This isn’t a dark book per se but it does touch on some sensitive topics! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

This is such an amazing story and explores the relationships between our favourite characters in depth. Its a rollercoaster of emotion, mixed with angst, suspense, danger, and friendship. This story is exceptional storytelling and the characters are brought to life with their amazing indepth personalities and backgrounds. This book deserves more than 5 stars. It can be read as a standalone BUT I would recommend reading the series as it is far more enjoyable to learn more about the band! Highly recommended - don't miss it!!!

A great finale! This book got down and dirty into Seth’s tragic childhood~the horrible sexual/physical abuse he and his sister Lexie suffered at the hands of their awful, twisted father, and what made him the man he became. Lexie’s suicide is explained in more detail, and the tight relationship that he and Gabe have had since childhood. I love that Riley stood by Seth and loves him for the man he is today, with all the flaws. This was a wonderful book and I loved all of the characters.
