Let me see you, mon lapin . Let me design you, define you, and consume you. They call me the Initiator, and Les Frères Perdus is where it all began. Gone are the days that they could strike me down. Now, I live with the family I created, in a golden cage that is my castle. And I am King. But when my brother comes home from New York, I see him . Hidden in the shadows, tall and strong, yet timid and kind. Mason represents an emotion I’d thought was trapped inside me, lost in nostalgia. The connection to my past, wrapped around me in silk rope, now tied around the neck of the man my brothers have brought home. Mason’s inexperienced, and he lashes out with anger. He wants to fight me, though he can’t deny what we both crave. My beautiful, strong lapin . Because I’ll take it all, and more. I’ll devour him. Looking after Pops, and making sure I keep my spot in the Inner Circle of the Business, are the top priorities in my life. For us to survive. And I never asked if there’s anything more. Until they come after me, those we have branded as murderers, as our enemy. They chase me away from the second row and into the spotlight, where he awaits. Gabriel is the most stunning man I’ve ever seen, and as wicked as he is gentle. As ruthless as he is compassionate. He becomes the enigma I want to unravel. But when the doors to freedom open, I know I need to ask myself the most obvious question. And accept the answer.

“Here’s where you belong. With me. No longer alone, no longer in the shadows.. But keep on fighting me, sweetheart, I love it when you do.”

Obsessed is the third book in The Undeniable series and, in my opinion, the best so far. Each book is connected so it can not be read as a standalone.

This story picks up from the last book, so we have Mason kidnapped by Les Freres Perdus and brought to France. Gabriel has wanted him ever since laying his eyes on him and now has been brought against his will across the Atlantic. We get a deeper look into Les Freres Perdus and learn more about their beautiful and mysterious leader Gabriel.

Mason has worked as a bodyguard, always in the background doing as he's told. Besides his grandfather, he's alone and the person everyone forgets, but Grabiel brings him front and centre as he claims him.

I loved seeing Gabriel's obsession with Mason! He tries so hard to resist, but poor Mason never had a choice in the matter. However, as they spend more time together, he comes to care and starts to fall in love with him. Mason has never been with a man, and with the sensual and sexy Gabriel, he gets a sexual awakening. I liked the found family aspect of Les Freres Perdus (as twisted and messed up as they are, they do care for one another deeply). They're not good guys; they do whatever it takes to survive but given their pasts I do not blame them. Gabriel is twisted and has his own set of morals and won't hesitate to dispatch you if you threaten his loved ones.

We get steamy sex scenes between the two. I loved how Mason slowly starts to give in with each encounter and enjoy himself. Their relationship is twisted but so sweet. Gabriel, despite his methods, really loves Mason.I always love possessive and obsessive MCs, so seeing that dynamic in their relationship was a plus for me. Is their relationship unhealthy and messed up? Yes, but these two are meant to be together.

I’ve fallen in love with my kidnapper, in less than a week’s time, and it’s the weirdest, most unlikely thing that could ever have happened to me. Because he’s my enemy—this intriguing, sexy man, who’s locked me up, and left me to be slowly burned by the sensual flame that is Gabriel.

I really enjoy Lola's writing. It's captivating and pulls you right into the story. Once I started Obsessed, it was hard to put it down.

With each book, the suspense and plot thickens. We learn more as layers are added but are still kept on the edge of our seats as the story unfolds. It got intense and emotional towards the end, and now I am even more excited for the fourth book.

Overall I really enjoyed Obsessed! It had a lot of elements I enjoy in a dark romance and can't wait for Infuriated.

Please check TWs as this story has a non-con scene, drugs, kidnapping, morally grey characters and more.

2⭐ for the book and 2.75⭐ for the couple, who definitely should've gotten a much better story. I'll round it up because of that ending and me liking the main characters.

I will be brutally honest here and say I'm really disappointed with this book . I was looking forward to Initiator's book and based on what I've read in Shameless, it seemed very promising.

🟣 The sex cult / bodyguard
🟠 Non-con (first time only)
🔵 Hypnosis
🟢 Kidnapping
🟡 Love story not believable
🌶️ Spice wasn't that good; t/b

The storytelling here was awful. Awful. My god, half of the time I had no idea what was being said, what all these men were even talking about and what on earth was going on. Since when do men communicate like that?

Again, the story starts somewhere in the middle with bits and pieces being inserted here and there. No actual, meaningful prologue, nothing about the MMCs and their past, so we'd know what we're actually dealing with upfront.

Turns out, Gabriel, aka The Initiator is a small twink power bottom, who's been bullied all his life - apparently also assaulted, but we know nothing about that - and now he's stuck in his inherited mansion, where he's brought in other traumatized young men, who now live in a sort of weird brotherhood with Gabriel's rules to go by.

This is all what we get about Gabriel's past and now make of it what you will;

"I once found this book in my father's study. We still lived in Paris, and he was still unpredictable in his permanent state of depression, fuelled by infinite funds. I was reckless, kicking and screaming at every single bully who pushed my boundaries. And they did, crushing me altogether, as they took what they wanted and left me to rot. They really should have killed me, the members of Les Milieu, the most renowned gang in my estate. Instead, the ignorant alphas provided me with my own weapons. And I went from being their punch bag, to being their slut. Realizing too late, that it really gave me power. Over them. The day I gained control, was the day their gang crumbled. For they all wanted me, and couldn't share."

I'm supposed to work with that? To pick out information and paint myself a picture of Gabriel, who was done dirty by this book filled with riddles and cringe dialogues, and how do I know he didn't get a good story? Because I've read this whole book and his character is best seen at the very end, while all throughout the book he seems like a deranged lunatic who's playing his little game based on his troubled past, while that really wasn't the case now, was it?

Gabriel's a scared, lonely guy who has a mentally ill brother Theo and he's running this community of lost souls, who are in my opinion in a terrible need of therapy aswell, and they go around playing with hypnosis, killing people and fucking for money to keep them afloat. Gabriel's not even doing what he wants, and that's fashion, so even though he seems like a really important figure here, I wonder does he really have all that power? Because a lot of his brothers seemed much more solid and internally strong and should've run this thing, not him - for example, Gaetan.

"We kept Gaetan - because Theo wanted him. Tall, strong, superior, regal Gaetan, with his dark hair and light eyes, and his multi-million euro inheritance. He's crazy about my little brother, so I let him stay. As long as he behaves. I wanted mini-Gaetans. The equally beautiful ones, but smaller in size, easier to cuddle. No longer afraid that they'd beat me up and spit in my face. I wanted brothers."

First of all, it's pretty damn clear who's a really important player here - and it's definitely not Gabriel - and don't even get me started about that cringe part of cuddling mini-Gaetans.

I have absolutely no problem with psycho deranged killers who live dangerously and like to fuck, but this? This was almost pathetic. Definitely not what I expected. I guess the idea was there, but the delivery was awful.

🔵 Mason is a 24 - year old bodyguard for The Business, he's tall, built and goodlooking, caring for his elderly grandparent, having a terrible past behind him, being almost a virgin. You won't know all these things unless you read almost half of the book and even then, you'll hardly have any idea of who Mason really is.

He's kidnapped by these french bros and taken to Gabriel's mansion, why? Because Gabriel saw him in a photo when his brother Theo was held captive by The Business, and since Mason looked exactly like the guys who bullied Gabriel, well, he just had to have him. Yeah, makes total sense.

Mason is kept hostage and in that week he has plenty of intimate moments with Gabriel, but they don't really get to know each other on a really personal level, because Mason keeps wanting to get away and Gabriel isn't capable of doing or saying anything substantial without turning to sex.
So they do have that final resolve, but it comes really late in the book, by the very end. At the end of the last chapter and in the epilogue Mason and Gabriel get that relationship that should've been in the cards all throughout the book. If Mason wouldn't have been able to escape and choose his fate himself, it'd be even worse than it was, but that escape saved this story.

Instead of the beautiful flow at the end where Gabriel comes out of his shell and he's taken care of by Mason, it was their weird, cringe dialogues, Mason's GFY story that wasn't really believable and in general that terrible, underdeveloped drug plot that's always in the background.

Those side characters just keep popping up, there are so many of them and every single one of them produces a strange interaction with another, it was hardly readable.
As I already stated, Gaetan comes as an only memorable character in this book and his relationship with Theo and Ezra is worth looking into, but I wouldn't read their book, because it probably wouldn't deliver a good MMM story, based on what I've read so far.

What we get at the very end in some action and Gabriel and Mason's characters finally coming to life, they become someone worth reading about and I personally believe there were way too many characters involved in this series - completely unnecessary - and even the little guy who's going to have his book with Kai next is an enigma here, like so many of them are. We, again, have no idea what he's doing here or what he wants, but I'll read his book next to finish off this series.

Definitely my favourite in this series so far, even though it was still way too instalove for me!

Every couple in this series seems to go from hate to love with the flip of a switch, and then they become all flowery with their declarations - it just doesn't fit who the characters are built up as I guess, which I find confusing! I get that it's maybe showing another side to each character, but they seem to lose who they were before... don't get it, but I'm getting used to it with this series.

I actually liked Gabriel and Mason together the most out of all the pairings because they weirdly seemed to fit together well. I've been really into kidnapper / victim books recently so it also fit my reading mood, but I wouldn't call it dark at all, which was disappointing because all I want to read lately are dark stories but nothing is measuring up to my expectations.

This book actually made the most sense so far and the ongoing plot seemed to fall more into place. I also found that I actually prefer the 'cult' much more than the 'gangs' in New York, because the characters acted more like a familial community, whereas the gangs just seemd to act like hierarchies. I was happy that Logan wasn't in this book at all though!

What is really bothering me is the way the author constantly refers to New York as NY - like do people actually say 'N Y' when referring to New York, because that seems weird to me. It doesn't seem to flow naturally when you're talking so every time the characters do it, it halts the conversation while my brain is thinking 'why???'.

I'm still confused as to why I want to keep reading when nothing really makes sense, but I'm morbidly curious about what the last book in the series will be like!

"You're mine now."

"I chose you."

*ARC review. This is my honest opinion:*

Obsessed is my favorite book in the series so far. The name of the book is perfect for many reasons. First, because of Gabriel. Second, because I'm obsessed with Obsessed.

This is the third book in the series. Every book follows a different couple but the plot is connected. While you can read this as a standalone you will have no clue about some characters and events.

Obsessed follows the story of Mason and Gabriel. Mason was mentioned in the background in the previous books. We didn't know a lot about him. Gabriel on the other hand... well, our obsessive boy is the leader of the cult that has been creating trouble for Mason's mafia family from book one.

Mason - a shadow of the Business. He is living his life like a shadow, never chosen, never put in the first place. A man with lost and buried dreams. One who you think you know everything about but the more you read the more you get to know him. And you understand that behind all the shadows where he's hiding lays a shy man who craves to be loved and more.

The storm has arrived. Yet I wonder which battle I'm really about to fight. The one on the front line, or the one in my heart.

Gabriel - the Initiator of the Les Freres Perdus. This is the sex cult which we know about from book one. Or do we? Who are they? Who is Gabriel? What is hidden behind the golden cage Gabriel has built around his family and his body and heart?

"Like beauty, I define, then design, then consume."

How did these two end up together when they haven't even met in person?
Only one word can describe it - Obsession.
Gabriel sees Mason on a zoom call in book one and he makes up his mind. The level of obsession here is not little. How so? Hmm, let's just say that Gabriel sees him, decides he belongs to him, and says 'let's bring my man home'. 🏠🏃‍♂️

How do you get your man, the one you've chosen? 👀
Well, that's obvious... you kidnap him. ⛓ (okay, not the most obvious answer but when you're Gabriel it makes perfect sense)

I've read dark romances with kidnapping and I don't know why I expected Obsessed to be more on the lighter side. Ha, jokes on me because this was so deliciously twisted, and dark, with a touch of dubcon, obsession, possession, intense moments, hate-love, bondage, and more. 🤤🤤🤤🥵

Every book in the series is different. I love all of them in different ways, but somehow Obsessed won above them all. The plot line here was so interesting and intense that I couldn't put it down. When I first started Shameless did I ever imagine the world-building would come to what happened in this book? Nope, never. The plot was easy to follow, yet not predictable (you're in for quite a bit of surprise). This is one of the reasons why I loved Obsessed so much (because the previous books were unique and amazing in their own way, but it was hard to follow the complexity of the plot at times. This didn't happen in Obsessed.) Also, the characters' development was what impressed me the most. Getting to know Mason and Gabriel behind the masks, to feel their pain, their desires and their intense emotions.

"I want all of you, Mason. I want your strength, and your fears. Your past, and your future."

Those who follow my reviews know I'm a sucker for damaged boys, all the pain, hurt-comfort, and dark romance. Obsessed gave me all of those things wrapped in one. I have only one more thing to mention... I wish this book was longer. When I finished the prologue I tried to scroll and scroll and then stared at the wall because I freaking needed more. It was one of those moments when you finish a book and you're feeling lost and depressed and all you can think is 'no, no, I need moreee'. I would have loved to see some things happening at the end between them but that's not something I will let lower my rating.

In conclusion, if you're obsessed with dark romance, possessive, obsessive, twisted relationships then you need to give Obsessed a chance. Though I have to mention that the relationship gets sweet at the end (it's hard to see how that's possible in the beginning). Oh, and if you do come back to scream together about Mason and Gabriel. I can't wait for the next book and where Lola will take us.

Overall Opinion
This was Mason and Gabriel's story and was by far my favourite in the series! The previous books have focused on The Business but this one focuses on Les Freres Perdus, the cult in France that we have caught glimpses of in the past. Gabriel is the Initiator, or the leader, of the cult and Mason is the man who was kidnapped by him. We are subjected to both their inner thoughts and emotions, that go way past surface level, with Gabriel utterly obsessed with Mason, and Mason trying to fight his deep attraction for Gabriel. The chemistry and passion is absolutely explosive and the consistent push and pull from one another builds on the tension. This story is a fast paced quick read but is so in depth you feel immersed in the world completely. It leaves us with an HEA for the couple but oh that cliffhanger has me craving the next book ASAP!

I like Gabriel. Spelling errors abound, and they SAY Mason is socially awkward but he doesn't actually act like it. I don't like how confusingly everything is described; the storyline can be confusing without literally every detail also being confusing. But anyway I'm invested now and I'll read about Kai and No One when that book comes out.

I just love this series, Lola knows how to take you on a ride with her books, I love her style and the twists and turns she throws at you, the intrigue and the darkness.

Mason is a bodyguard, someone who’s always there lurking in the back ground but ready to fight for the people he calls family. But Mason is lonely, he cares for his most basic needs and looks after his grandfather, but other than that he just does as he’s asked. His childhood was not great and he’s always felt like something is missing and that he’s never going to be special to anyone, everyone ends up leaving or just not noticing that he’s there.

Mason is on a job, but realises to late he’s been set up and ends up being kidnapped and handed over to Gabriel who is part of the les Frères Perdus, and he has chosen Mason to be his.

Gabriel has chosen Mason, he now just needs to convince him to stay.

In this book we see Gabriel as the bad guy, he’s kidnapped Mason and keeps him tied up, but actually as you get to know him you realise he’s not as strong as he makes out, Mason gives him something he’s craving and in return he shows Mason what it’s like to be chosen and cared for.

I loved the push and pull between these two, the possessiveness and the obsession, the spice and the vulnerability right till the end of the book, you don’t quite know how it’s going to all pan out, but that’s what Lola is good at, keeping you on your toes.

You must read the books in order to understand The Business and The Void.

That was an intense read. Dark, enemies to lovers, kidnapping, cult, hypnosis.

I loved that fear was felt, not some who knows how to escape or feel nothing, noooo, there’s heart-stopping fear, and anxiety, all quite sensible.

Mason wants to escape, calls them names, feels like prey, doesn’t want to be with them, only, there’s a magic word coming from Gabriel’s lips that hits home in his battered heart… ‘chosen’ He’s the chosen one and never in his life has he ever been chosen.
Watch them together, dang hot!

The Cult Les Frères Perdus. The Lost Brothers. The Business, the Void, who’s the enemy and who’s not.

Masterly written journey, dark, but on the other hand not. The series just gets better and better.
The author writes focused, clearly, and coherently. The story is enormously entertaining and intriguing.
I’m looking forward to the fourth and last installment!

I am sad to say...I did not DNF it but I wish I had.
I was looking forward to Gabriel's book cuz he just seemed so damn mysterious and cruel! It was intriguing. It was exciting.
I wish I could say I couldn't connect to this book but I did. However, It left me feeling exasperated somewhere at 35%.

1) My biggest pet peeve is Stockholm Syndrome and this was the main trope of this book. It's 75% of the reason I didn't like it.... So if you happen to like this trope... I'd say go for this book.

2) Gabriel started as this wicked and clever "I use sex as a weapon" Sort of person... Which was exactly what I wanted to see. But he turned into this hot mess till the finish of the book and I hated that.

3) I was feeling exasperated when Maxine was punished cuz... How could literally no one see that Theo played a part in that electrocution scene?! No one pointed out this big big thing. Theo wasn't punished. The hypocrisy of the cult and this as a major plot hole was exasperating to me tbh.

4) I did not get any major cult vibes here. It was relatively tame to what I was expecting.

ARC review

So this book is the 4th in the series, please remember they have to be read in order as they are all interconnected.

-MM
-Forced Proximity
-Cult/Organisation Crime life
-Dual POVs
-Different couples but interconnected series

Our two leads are Gabriel and Mason, they definitely don’t have a cute meet. They are each others enemies, one being from the business and the other the leader of Les Frères Perdus.

Gabriel as the leader of what he and they call a brotherhood, he is loved by them all, highly respected and a strong leader. However behind it all he is just as scared as the rest of us, he has a past and never wants to feel alone or unloved again. It is a hard one he loves to be in control, he comes across as powerful and strong but there is a lot more to him. Once he sees Mason, he can’t get him out of his mind. He has decided he wants him and that’s it.. he will take no for an answer, he will get his mysterious man no matter the costs. He is unhinged, possessive, totally crazy but I was here for it.
Can Gabriel stay hidden while fighting for his love?
Will he ever get Mason to see things from his side?

Mason.. aw my heart, this man made this book for me. He didn’t see his own potential, he kept saying his brothers (from the business) would come for him and yet he didn’t really fully believe it. He doesn’t see his own worth, he has never had someone pick him! He can’t understand why Gabriel would either.. so much so he kidnapped him. He is the bodyguard, the doting grandson, the loyal friend, the shadow you don’t realise you need. He fights tooth and nail to not give in, he will never yield.. or will he?
For no matter how much he loathes Gabriel and all he stands for he can no longer ignore how he see him or how his body reacts. He is hella confused having never thought of a man before.
Will he get back home or will he find a new?
Can he open up to this man he believes is a monster?

There was some really cute moments between them, honest and opening up with each other.

This series will give you a wild ride, filled with passion, raw love and gritty moments. Though it’s definitely one you need to follow and not blink or come out of order or you’ll get lost.

Why I marked it down - Personally for me cause this book doesn’t happen over a lot of time, as in; everything happens within a week or so. So we are here getting into the minds or Gabriel and Mason but we don’t see a lot of what happens outside of them, I feel like it’s just getting you ready for the next.
Each book has answered questions but leaves you with even more. I wish there maybe had been that bit more of what happens and of their relationship once Mason was actually fully on board. Loved them as individuals, liked them together, just needed a wee bit of something

P.s Samuel is still my fave!!

***ARC Review***

This is my honest review for the ARC I received.

Gah! This book is so captivating! “Obsessed” is the next installment in the Undeniable series and it definitely takes you on a trip. There’s a lot to unpack, but it is worth it. Read this book!

Mason is a bodyguard who looks after his grandfather. He likes to stay in the background. Gabriel is the Initiator who looks after his “family.” He likes to be up front. Going in, I wasn’t sure how Lola was going to make Gabriel remotely likable, since he’s the bad guy, but she finds a way. There are moments of vulnerability. Gabriel and Mason are at odds in the beginning for a very specific reason. Mason does not want to like Gabriel at all. He’s furious. Gabriel thinks Mason is the “chosen one.” Mason refuses to yield to Gabriel and definitely does not expect him to take the approach he does to get him to yield. Y’all, I’m trying so hard not to spoil anything right now. There’s obsessiveness, possessiveness, toxicity, and unexpected closeness. The push and pull is chef’s kiss. The attraction, chemistry, and passion in this book is sublime. It’s divine.

This book focuses on Les Frères Perdus. I recommend reading the books in order so that you have a better understanding of everything going on with the Business and the Void.

This book is intense. There are some dark themes. It’s full of emotions. There’s also a good bit of action. It will keep you engaged. While our MCs get their HEA, some overarching issues still need to be resolved. The epilogue is endearing but definitely leaves you wanting more! I cannot wait for the next book!

That said, be aware of some potentially triggering elements to the story. Some examples are cult, life, drug use, hypnosis, violence, kidnapping and being tied up.

I've been waiting for Gabriel's book ever since reading book 1, when we got a little glimpse of the puzzling & extremely captivating leader & initiator of Les Frères Perdus. I was beside myself with excitement when Lola announced that Gabriel would be the other half to our sweet and stoic inner circle member, Mason. I mean these two right from the beginning captured my interest. They seem like chalk and cheese but as Lola masterfully unraveled their layers, we see that they're not so different after all. I've always loved how the Undeniable books ooze sensuality and opulence. Gabriel seemed to have it all, with his boujiee self, but his and Mason's story is full of heartache and the hurt of their past followed them into the present. It's incredible how Lola can pull you in a different era of time through imagery & allow you to lose yourself in it. Gabriel and Mason's story scorched with sex appeal and I'm just so excited to see where she takes us next. Highly recommend this book and the whole series. It's outstanding & undeniably sexy.

One of the easiest five stars I've given a book this year and I knew I would before I started it. Lola Malone did not disappoint with Obsessed and I was left obsessed with this story and these characters.

"I want to keep you." his confession is so damn hot, so overwhelming, so confusing, "and now I want to taste you."

I love how I was drawn in immediately into this dark and alluring world I already know from Shameless and Fierce but from a different perspective - this book driving into the side of the Lost Brothers who we'd only got glimpses of before. I couldn't get enough of the dark and mysterious atmosphere Lola immediately plunges you into and honestly I didn't want to leave.

I love Mason so so much but Gabriel stole the show for me, they complimented each other perfectly but Gabriel OMG! This man, held me under his spell from the moment he stepped onto the page. His beauty and charm was just the thin veil that masked the man beneath and I couldn't get enough. I loved them both separately but together they were just everything.

I got to a certain point where I didn't want to leave this dark and thrilling word. The suspense was gripping and being able to see the Lost Brothers more in this book was amazing! I was left wanting more from this world!

Cult? Kidnapping? Found family? Forced Proximity? Enemies to Lovers?

Lola managed to get me hooked from beginning to end, like always. This has some dark romance in it and March was that type of month.

This is book 3 and you must read the previous ones to fully understand..

We have Mason who was kidnapped and isn’t sure why it was him and keeps telling his captors that they got the wrong guy. He’s just a bodyguard and he feels like the Business wont try to get him back. What Mason doesn’t know is that the Cult leader specifically chose him.

Gabriel is the leader of the cult Les Freres Predus and upon seeing a glimpse of Mason in a video, he wants him. He wants him to be his chosen one.

There’s a lot of push from Mason, he has seen all the bad things the cult has done and refuses to be part of it. He also leaves his grandfather behind and he was the main one who took care of him. You get to see Mason find an inner battle of wanting someone he shouldn’t. It makes some of the best hate/love scenes 🥵

There’s so any twists on top of that and I’m ready for for the 4th book!

Thank you Lola for this ARC, love being part of your team! 💜💜

Lola has taken me on quite the twisty, turny, and dark journey with this series. She dropped into my messages one day and while I don't typically read a ton of dark, I was intrigued enough to pick this up. I plowed through the first book and found myself instantly clicking into the second.

You definitely want to start at Shameless to get the full effect here, but let me tell you, I was ecstatic when this loaded up on my Kindle. We've now gotten to know The Business and the Void pretty well. And there was this cult always lurking. And they were slowly being revealed. Now we get tossed into their world with Obsessed.

Mason has felt hidden his whole life. Always taking care of others. So when he's captured and tossed into Gabriel's world he can't wrap his head around being someone's choice.

There's some firey hot steam in here, so strap in for that. And if you've followed the series so far prepare to understand the lost brothers just a little bit more.

This book does leave off with some more questions than answers, so prepare to get ready for one more book. I'm here for it Lola! write faster!

Let's start by saying that this is book 4 of the series and this series is meant to be read in order because the books are interconnected.

Now. The plot of each book is getting more and more.. intricate? Complex? Let's say that there are a lot of details. Sometimes I felt kinda lost because the story was so dense but overall it was so good. 🖤

Mason finds himself kidnapped by the initiator of Les freres perdus, a French sex cult. Gabriel insists that this is not him kidnapping Mason but actually him "choosing" him. He's the chosen one. So he brought him home.

Well colour me fucking confused because I needed some time to understand how this thing worked???Like okay?? You chose him and you ordered your people to bring him to your castle? I'm pretty sure this is still kidnap Gabriel wtf 😂

Mason was furious trust me. All this "yield because you're one of us now" crap didn't impress him at all. He was L-I-V-I-D. He was ready to fight everyone who told him to just accept his fate. What he didn't expect though was for Gabriel to come and sit right on his 🍆 in an effort to make him surrender 😳

When I tell you I went from 🤨 to 😏.. you better believe me. Gabriel really played the dick card quite often. 🥵 I mean.. they are a sex cult after all right? Nah.. they are more but I'm not gonna spoil more shit.

I will be honest though and say that I loved the "you're mine" vibes and the whole kidnap thing. I never wanted this part to end!!! 🥵💖💖

Overall?

I'm kinda a weirdo with a fucked up memory. I will either understand something from the beginning or get stuck and need time because my stupid mind won't make me the favour to focus. Unfortunately this happened to me in this story and I took my time to connect with the plot but once I did the book literally flew. I may or may not have gone a book back and checked a couple things because I didn't remember stuff?? *Sigh* Told you. Fucked up memory. 🥲

Anyway. In the end this was definitely a
great read and I appreciate Lola's effort to build a well organised world for her characters. 🖤

🔥🔥🔥ARC REVIEW🔥🔥🔥

OBSESSED. No other way to describe it. I’m OBSESSED with Lola Malone and I’m OBSESSED with this book.

“I won’t let you f*cking leave.”

Absolutely nothing is as it seems.
Mason has my heart. Him and Gabriel fit together in the most perfect of ways. Their chemistry is fire 🔥🔥🔥

I never thought I could absolutely fall in love with les Frères Perdus.

These guys have my heart in a chokehold. Gabriel is the perfect amount of possessive and intense. Mason has no clue what his heart truly desires and it’s absolutely beautiful seeing him open up.

I just finished and I already want to read it again! I can’t wait to see how it all comes together in the end.

““Gabriel,” he pulls my wet face back and our eyes meet. “I choose you too, baby.””

First and foremost! Each book ends with a HEA for the couples, but there is an overarching plotline! A bigger picture happening in the background that has been building since book one!

*

*

*

*

*

“Welcome to France, Mason. Are you going to behave?”

Mason has been kidnapped! Our strong and silent bodyguard finds himself in the hands of those whom the Business have named murderers. Les Frères Perdus, The Lost Brothers, have struck again, only this time they took Mason back home with them alive. But for how long?! Mason finds himself surrounded by wealth, art, beauty, and cruelty. Being told he was "chosen" by the Initiator.

Mason refuses to succumb to the ways of the cult! He will fight until the very end but when he actually meets Gabriel things begin to change. Having only known a life of hardship and strife he finds himself questioning everything. Gabriel cannot figure out Mason, but he knows for a fact the man is his. The two struggle to understand one another as both of their worlds are shaking up a bit. Will Mason fall for Garbiel or play him so he can escape?

“You’re a monster.” - Mason

“Maybe. But I’m not wrong, am I? We all live by the rules of our community, whichever one we’ve decided to join.” - Gabriel

When I read the first book of the series and was introduced to Mason, I was hoping my silent guy got his own book! I wasn't disappointed with this read! This installment is a little darker than the others even though the entire series is a dark mafia romance. With this book we get to understand the inner workings of the cult and how it came about!

Mason's living his life the best he can. Helping the only family member he has left as he tries to continue being of service for the Business' Inner Circle. But he feels as though his efforts are not enough and his days are numbered with the family. Everything changes when he finds himself caught by the sex cult who has been an issue for the Business and the Void for a while. He refuses to play submissive captive and fights with tooth and claw!

Gabriel has built a safe haven for those who have had to endure hardships and pasts that still haunt them. Only his castle has become his prison without him having realized it. But he has everything he needs within the mansion or so he thought. . . When the man he's been obsessing over from afar is placed before him everything changes! He cannot fully figure out Mason, but he can see the shy and timid man behind the wolfish front the bodyguard puts up.

I really loved getting to see into the cult and how it all came about. The psychology of it all and what brought about the methods the cult uses. As mentioned, multiple times within the TWs and the books themselves the cult is focused on use of hypnosis and hanging. With this installment we really get to understand how suggestive hypnosis is used and why they do it. I was enthralled by the writing and how the MCs experienced things.

What also fascinated me was the descriptions of everything. Different representations of the same mindsets and type of organizations. With the mafia you tend to have a dress code usually suits or higher-class apparel while also abiding by the rules your Boss has set for you. And if you break the rules or dare to betray your leader or brothers/sisters than you suffer a punishment. Depending on how bad your crime is you may not get another chance at anything. . . Mason catches on to the subtilty of things and the differences between the two worlds but still two sides of the same coin.

Both MMCs are broken and have personal issues they have to work through. Realizations they reach as they continue trying to uncrack one another. There's mentions of dark pasts and things the two had to endure to survive. Language is present in the book along with violence and bloodshed. We are dealing with the mafia whose business has branched into drugs. The cult doesn't want Mason to run away so they have to use some methods to ensure he doesn't.

This is a true enemies to lovers read! I mean can you blame Mason for lashing out? We get to enjoy dual POVs as the two navigate through their feelings for one another. Mason has never been with a man before and Gabriel's more than happy to teach him a thing or two. This is a sex cult, and the members are very touchy with one another. BFs who don't mind performing acts in front of others with their partners. MM action all over the place and spicy scenes!

The couple does get an HEA and I laughed a lot with the final scenes, you will have to read the book to understand! I was so happy with everything and am more than ready for the next couple! But I hear that the next installment is the final book of the series, and I will cry when I finish it. Lola's doing such a phenomenal job and I love her writing style. The depth of her characters and their growth throughout the book. I also love the building of the behind-the-scenes plot and am ready for the big climax!

Enjoy the dark romance with close proximities and one bed trope! Don't forget to give the author some stars!

Obsessed is what I am over this latest installment in the Undeniable Series by Lola Malone. If you haven’t read the prior books in the series, I highly recommend doing so before reading this one. The storyline continues from the prior two books and although this book takes place in a different area, you need the history to be able to follow some aspects of the story. Plus they are awesome books. Certainly check the content warnings for this book and series. It’s dark and the business this world deals with isn’t pretty and while most things are discussed and off page, there are a some things that are on page

I read this book in one sitting - it’s a quick read but it’s also gets a hold and I couldn’t put it down. I was 60 percent in and thought about taking a break and then thought I’m not a quitter and need to finish this. This book focuses on Mason who has been the quiet bodyguard lingering in the background in the prior books. He doesn’t say much and he’s always focused on being part of The Business and his role as caretaker. But so much more to him lurks underneath from a tragic childhood to a sense of abandonment.

The reader also has more insight into Les Frères Perdus and more about their origins with the introduction of Gabriel who is Théo’s brother (Théo has been in both prior books but we see a slightly different side of him in this book). These characters are not knights in shining armor and beyond morally grey with their dealings and the nature of their business but you get more into what created these characters and more about their motivations for the organization. And it put things in a different light.

The relationship between Mason and Gabriel starts with Gabriel’s obsession with him and is a roller coaster ride of emotions for Mason. His inner turmoil and emotional history come into play and he hasn’t had someone who cherishes him, wants him, looks out for him and instead of Mason being in the caretaker after taking care of his grandfather all these years, Gabriel wishes to take care of him. Finally someone has chosen him.

I am looking forward to seeing where this series goes next and can’t wait for the next one!

*3.5 stars rounded up to 4*

This is by far my favorite of the series! Obsessed is a fast burning, quick moving story focused on Gabriel and Mason. The events of this book take place after those in the previous two, and it's best if they're read in order. It’s nice to finally get better acquainted with both of these characters, and in doing so, get a much closer look at the brotherhood of Les Frères Perdus, the French cult previously deemed an enemy of The Business and The Void.

I really enjoyed the continued mafia storyline. Organized crime operates by a different set of rules, and with it comes a high potential for danger and violence. Lola Malone does a fantastic job of crafting the complexity and tension of this type of suspense, which feels like working to solve a giant puzzle, albeit one with a lot more deceit and betrayal.

The portions of this story about Les Frères Perdus are equal parts terrifying and fascinating. Understanding the root of their brotherhood makes it easy to see how that level of devotion contributes to a collective sense of belonging. For someone who’s feeling lonely and adrift, their offer of love and acceptance would be very appealing.

A main theme of this book is loneliness and belonging. It's true of the members of Les Frères Perdus, and it's also true for someone like Mason who’s felt like a burden his entire life. I was heartbroken to learn just how lonely he is, and whether he realizes it or not, Gabriel’s attention fills a place inside him he didn’t realize was empty. Maybe he wouldn’t allow himself to think about it. Maybe he didn’t want to acknowledge it. Either way, once Gabriel makes him feel wanted & desired, there’s no denying it.

For me the romance in this one takes a backseat to the action and suspense. I struggled to romanticize the kidnapping plot and wasn’t sold on the depth and intensity of their connection from the outset. Once the relationship moves beyond that grey area of dubious consent, I better appreciate how their feelings change in what is really just a matter of a several very intense days.

Romance: 🌹🌹🌹

With Obsessed, Lola Malone takes the series in a slightly darker direction with some morally gray characters. It’s not enemies-to-lovers, it’s more like stalker and target.

Mason is a bodyguard within The Business. Dedicated to them and to his Pops. Gabriel is the Initiator, the family head, of les Freres Perdus. He’s risen above past trauma to create a found family for others who have suffered.

One yearns to be chosen and loved. The other yearns for a man to choose for himself and love unconditionally. But will how they come together be too much to overcome?

Obsessed is definitely the right title for Gabriel and Mason! But Lola has nailed each title perfectly for this series.

I liked the darker turn this book takes. A bit of dubcon with Gabriel and Mason. Gabriel is the more delicate, from a physical POV with Mason being the bigger and bulky bodyguard build. But Gabriel has already started to face his mental demons and built a life and family to suit the reality he needs.

I loved that, at its core, this was a book about believing that you are loved, deserve love. Mason doesn’t believe anyone would choose him. No one has so far in his life. And Gabriel’s rather direct and illegal means of getting to him don’t help. But the way they make each other feel. The slow realization that the darker aspects of les Freres Perdus aren’t all that different from Mason’s life in The Business.

I liked how Lola flipped we normally read with a stalker and prey trope. Gabriel is the smaller and leaner of the two. He would normally be seen as the target, the one the bully fixates on. But not here. We get to watch the mouse tame the lion, the dom is broken and rebuilt by the sub. And once Gabriel proves to Mason that he’s worthy and loved and was chosen by Gabriel’s heart, Mason returns the favor by being the strong partner for Gabriel, supporting him and loving him through the fears that left him self-confined to his own home.

description

First of all a big thank you to my dear friend Lola for providing me with an ARC of her newest release.

I honestly don't even know where to start. I've been begging for a book like this from the very start.

I never made it a secret that these guys and their cult like ways scared the absolute crap out of me. I don't vibe with cults, they give me the creeps. For good reasons, obviously.

But Les Freres Perdus? They intrigued me. I knew there was more to them than just some murderous cult. I had to know more, I needed to know more. So I couldn't be happier when I saw Lola wrote a book about Gabriel.

This book is a rollercoaster. A rollercoaster of emotions, actions and everything in-between.

I've been staring at my screen for too long trying to figure out how to write a review without spoiling this book. It's something you need the experience with the least amount of spoilers. This book is a whole experience on its own.

When Mason wakes up in a strange country, in a strange car, with even stranger people, he know it. He's going to die. They're going to kill him and he'll never see his grandfather again. He knows it.

But Mason is a fighter. He'll fight everyone, anyone, anything and everything until the very end.

The one thing he didn't count one is Gabriel. Not only has Mason never been with a man, he also never expected to be chosen by anyone. And that's exactly what Gabriel has done. He has chosen Mason.

And for the very first time in his life someone chose Mason.

It throws him off. That's for sure.

I mean, he still got kidnapped, he still got taken away from his family. But he did get chosen. It changes everything.

Gabriel knew he had to have Mason. So he did everything he could to have him.

Know all he needs to do is find a way to keep him.

I knew there was way more to Les Freres Perdus than we initially saw in the previous books. I knew deep down that they were more than a murderous cult, more than some weird French guys. I didn't know we would find a family. A found family. Brothers who love each other, brothers who'd die for each other. Brothers who'd kill for each other. Most of all it's a tightknit family, full of brothers who had nowhere else to go, brothers who went through hell and back, brothers who found peace here, love and purpose.

I absolutely, absolutely adored this book and the characters in it. This is by far my favourite in this series. I hope we'll see more of them in the next one. I definitely wasn't ready to say goodbye.

Lola did such a fantastic job at bringing these characters to life and giving us an unique insight into their extraordinary lives. It still amazes me how I can start her books and I get sucked into the storyline immediately. It's always bittersweet to check how far along you are and see you're almost done.

I can't wait for the next one. That's for sure.

Now all I need is for someone to choose me like Gabriel chose Mason. But you know... without the kidnapping.

TW - violence, hypnosis, kidnapping

Tropes - organised crime, cult, MM, forced proximity, hurt/comfort, H1 hates H2 and H2 is obsessed with him

In this instalment of The Undeniable Series, Gabriel (MMC) pushes Mason (MMC) to see more colours than black and white and as the reader, we are urged to do the same on the back of Shameless and Fierce, both books that deal with The Business and the close knit family that are a part of it. Obsessed however, looks at the The Lost Boys, who have been the enemy in the previous books.

Mason hasn’t had many choices in his life and while Gabriel wants to grant him a peace he’s never known before, he struggles to let Mason make the choice to choose him because he is afraid of being abandoned. We get to read Mason's inner turmoil about what is meant to be right and wrong, who he's meant to be loyal too as well as him coming to terms with the fact that he has been chosen by someone although, he doesn't know how to deal with it.

This book isn't too long and everything that happens takes place in about a week so we don't get to see much of what is happening outside the castle that is The Lost Brothers. Despite this, I thought it worked for the story and it felt like this book was mostly about getting into the minds of Mason and Gabriel before we get the next instalment of the series.

I really enjoyed this book. Lola's writing is gorgeous  and atmospheric. The setting, a glamorous house on a cliff top amidst a storm. Beautiful.

We've met Mason previously and he's always been quiet, on the sidelines of the Inner Circle. Doing what was asked of him.

Now, we get to know him better, we learn about his past and get to see his hopes and dreams and feelings about his current position in The Business. But it doesn't come easy to Mason, to believe he can follow his dreams,  to believe that he can have more. It took the actions (sometimes questionable) and the admiration of another to bring Mason some clarity. Enter Gabriel.

Oh Gabriel. What a brilliant character. He's enigmatic, charismatic and not afraid to take what he wants. And what he wants is Mason. One glimpse of Mason and Gabriel's heart had met it's mate. He comes across as tough and in control and for the most part he is exactly that. The leader. The Initiator. But there's also a vulnerability to him which he shows to Mason.

Though their union had a dubious start - Mason was kidnapped afterall! - their connection is strong. And they seem to both bloom in each others presence.

The spice was top level, and the romance beautiful. The plot was great - woven into a larger plot which featured in Shameless and Fierce.

Obsessed is Book 3 in the Undeniable Series. I highly recommend reading this series. Start with Shameless and immerse yourself in the world of The Void, The Business and Les Frères Perdus.

“We’re the Business, we’re strong, we’re brothers, no one can harm us.”

But what happened when one of them are kidnapped by a beautiful monster who claims him is his chosen one?

Well, let me tell you that it will be the beginning of a war for power and submission, two things that few people are willing to give to someone else.

Now having this is in mind, you can see how hard was for Mason to open his heart to Gabriel, his kidnapper and first love. However, that doesn’t mean that Gabriel was stronger than Mason though, because there was a time when he was the victim and the toy of the gang that had decided that he was weak and incapable of getting away from their grasp, but only in this way did he realize that he was capable to do so. Thus, he become the Initiator of a cult based on respect and love.

Nevertheless, he didn’t feel complete, because he had always wanted someone for himself , so when his brother realized that he decided to give him what he wanted. And that came in the form of a big, strong, and innocent man who had never been chosen before.

In a nutshell, this was a great book which combined suspense with love in an amazing way. I hope you can give this book a chance.

Gabriel is the Initiator of Les Frères Perdus. He lives with the family he created, in a golden cage that is his castle where he is King. But when his brother comes home from New York,he sees him. Hidden in the shadows, tall and strong, yet timid and kind. Mason represents an emotion he’d thought was trapped inside him, lost in nostalgia. The connection to his past, wrapped around me in silk rope, now tied around the neck of the man my brothers have brought home. Mason’s inexperienced, and he lashes out with anger. He wants to fight, though he can’t deny what we both crave. His beautiful, strong lapin. Because he'll take it all, and more. Looking after Pops, and making sure he keep his spot in the Inner Circle of the Business, are the top priorities in Mason's life. He never asked if there’s anything more. Until they come after him, those we have branded as murderers, as our enemy. They chase him away from the second row and into the spotlight, where he awaits. Gabriel is the most stunning man he's ever seen, and as wicked as he is gentle. As ruthless as he is compassionate. He becomes the enigma he wants to unravel.

This was a dark story with Mason and Gabriel. It was also interesting to learn a bit more about the Les Frères Perdus through Mason's eyes. The ending was interesting and I think that the next book will be interesting. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Let me start off by saying that I absolutely adored this book. It was so dark and suspenseful and intriguing.

We met Mason in previous books in the Undeniable series, but he was always a character who was just there, we would hear his name mentioned, and then that was it. Well, let me tell you that I am so glad we finally have Mason's story, and what a story it is.

We start off with Mason waking up in the back of a car, tied up, and blindfolded, with no idea what has happened and where he is. Mason soon finds out that he has been captured by Les Frères Perdus, and then he meets Gabriel, the Initiator and the mysterious enigma, who claims Mason is his chosen one.

“I want to keep you.” His confession is so damn hot, so overwhelming, so confusing. “And now I want to taste you.”

As Mason spends more time at Gabriels' hidden French castle, he comes to realise that the Les Frères Perdus are not the murderous sex cult he was led to believe them to be.

"What do you do when you’ve been kidnapped by the most handsome man you’ve ever met? Who touches you, makes your body tremble in ways it has never trembled before?"

This series just gets better and better, and the world just keeps growing. Lola weaves a universe for us to immerse ourselves in and get lost in the mysterious world of mafia families and cults and complex characters who all play vital roles in the books.

The writing in this book was spectacular, it was one of those books where you started to read and become so immersed in the story that you totally forget that you are actually reading and the book is just playing out in your mind, and when you look up 2 hours have past and you feel like you have been on an adventure!!

Im so excited for the rest of the series and to see where lola takes us in this dark and mysterious journey we are on 🖤

Mason is the quiet guy from the Business who just goes along with what he's told to do. He doesn't really have a direction for his life. That is until he's kidnpped by the Initiator of les Frères Perdus. You know, those crazies who used hypnosis to make people hang themselves. Yup, he's now in their mansion in France.

Gabriel, the Initiator, has been Obsessed with Mason since the moment he saw him. He knew Mason needed to "come home" to him. He is Gabriel's chosen one. Hence, the kidnapping.

Mason refuses to surrender to Gabriel and his Brothers and, therefore, is tied up for a good portion of the first half. After a failed attempt at escaping, he learns the real reason why Gabriel uses hypnosis to make people hang themselves. This makes Mason even more disgusted by hypnosis.

Eventually, Gabriel gets Mason to trust him and they start to explore each others bodies. Mason has never been with a man, so Gabriel makes sure his mon lapin is taken care of in every way! With his building trust, Mason allows Gabriel to hypnotize him and in doing so, he's finally able to breathe. Surrender.

This series keeps keeps adding great books! Fierce is still my favorite but I enjoyed this book!

This series just keeps getting better and better with every book!

I have been intrigued by both of these characters from the very beginning of this series. Mason and Gabriel had an air of mystery surrounding them that you couldn't help but see. Mason who seems to hide in the shadows with his quiet demeaner, who always abruptly rushes off to take care of his ill grandfather. And, Gabriel a beautiful enigma and the illusive Initiator of the Les Freres Perdus/Silent Brothers.

When Mason is kidnapped and taken to a mansion in France and the Lost Brother main home, he doesn't know what to think. Little does he know that his quiet existence caught the attention of Gabriel, leader and Initiator of the Lost Brothers. Gabriel is a little unhinged, very possessive, and loves to have control. And, when he sets his sights on something or someone, he's solely focused and as the title implies quite literally OBSESSED. I absolutely adored his character though. Behind his mansion walls and tough exterior hid a vulnerable person who was just looking to be chosen and loved. His vulnerable moments were beautiful to see. The same goes for Mason. When he opened up and really delved into who he was, he realized him and Gabriel had more in common than he originally thought.
