Not one, not two, but three sexy new stepbrothers. Hell yeah, life is about to get real interesting!
This is exactly what’s happened to Clarice Miller. Her mother’s fourth husband has three sons, all unique in their own way, and also handsome, dominant, and, so it seems, madly attracted to their new stepsister.
And she can’t deny she’s all of a flutter whenever they’re around; her pulse rockets and her skin heats. Which one to choose? But should she choose any? They’re her new brothers, right, isn’t that kinky as f**k?
The matter is quickly taken out of her hands when she displeases city boy, Parker, and he tips her over his knee for a spanking and then gives her what she’s been searching for. Hugh, a hunk of a fireman, doesn’t have a problem with his brother’s firm hand and soon shows her his wild side.
But can she handle the eldest brother on top of Parker’s and Hugh’s passion-infused demands? A too-hot-to-handle killing machine who turns up fresh from a war zone all brooding and mysterious and with very particular needs.
Only time will tell if Clarice can keep her cool when life reaches boiling point. If she’ll be able to bend to her brothers’ will, and if her body is up to the challenge of taking everything they have to offer—at the same time.

Excellent steam but lacking on the romance side. The way the heroes insult the heroine and basically say they aren’t going to have a loser whore in their family so she had no choice but to shape up, got things off on the wrong foot for me. It was nice to see a female character own her sexual desires and go out and get what she wants. Having them say she lacked respect for herself, let herself be used, and was easy really brought things down. Not to mention was completely sexist and hypocritical considering one of them hooked up with her before he knew who she was and another slept with her the second time they met. If their criticism had been more about her lack of precaution, it could have been the start of romantic feelings but they just tore her down for wanting exactly what they wanted. They insulted her for other things to, like calling her childish for wearing flannel pajama bottoms. Eventually they start to complement her and encourage her to work for what she wants, but it felt a bit hollow at that point. Even as they started to do things to help her out, I never really felt like it was about her. And their whole solution to the socially unacceptable aspect of their relationship was just to hide and lie, without ever talking about what they would have to give up for that. It just needed a more romantic vibe throughout.
Despite that it was a pretty enjoyable read. I liked the heroine and she did grow emotionally. The kink was well written. As smut it worked great, and that’s mostly what it was trying to be so I am rounding up to 4 stars.
I can’t stress enough how much I did NOT enjoy this book!
It’s ridiculously patriarchal. There isn’t enough character development to explain why any of them do what they do or how they get from “hi, nice to meet you” to “do what I say or you’ll get spanked” to “oh I’ll love you forever” . There is no real consent or communication happening. Not to mention there is barely a redeeming quality to found among any of these characters.
Frankly I think it gives the whole BDSM/reverse harem sub genre a bad name.
First impression after finishing the book: sweet, lovely, more than hot sex – and all that between the young woman Clarice and her new stepbrothers Parker and Hugh (both love to spank her, at least partly to get her back on the right track, and both love to f***k her, the more the better). The story starts with Clarice’s one-night stand before meeting her mum, her new stepfather-to-be and his sons in a restaurant (all the time trying to hide a hickey from the last night on her neck 😉🤣). However, as it turns out later, this guy was actually the third stepbrother who couldn’t meet them at the wedding.
Thankfully, there’s hardly any drama (apart from a slight friction with her friend when Clarice told her about her different kind of relationship with her stepbrother, and an even more brief shock when Sean and Clarice realized that they were now step siblings). But as I said, there’s a lot of spanking and a lot of kinky sex between the three, make that four of them.
Lily Harlem has a great way to keep the story easy-going, despite the emotional depth the four siblings fall right into and how much they really care for each other. Okay, just downloaded other books of hers, again ménage-themed (like paranormal ménage romances).
— Some quotes will follow – there are many quite good passages… (and not just these)
Oh my gods! I love this book! I don't usually read spanking and Daddy Dom romance, but when I do, it's by Lily Harlem. This is a scorching hot, medium drama, contemporary, fast-burn, reverse harem romance. This book takes place in England, so there's lots of fun British things. I was a little surprised by the popularity of coffee and espresso, as the main character is a barista. There's just enough drama to make this a page turner, as well as plenty of sweet and spicy goodness. I love how the siblings are all adults when they meet.
I especially like how Clarice and Trig (aka Sean) don't know who the other person is at the beginning. They aren't step siblings until later. The best part of this story is the fact that these super kinky people are not really related. Clarice's mother is on her fourth marriage. Trig, Parker, and Hugh are all surprised by their new step sister's beauty and her mess of a life.
Yes, there's one non-consensual spanking at the beginning. Yes, there's some brat behavior, punishment, and first times (although nobody is a virgin). Other than that first spanking, Clarice is into it. She tries to ignore how bad her life is, but having new family members who care is her wake up call. She really does wake up and smell the coffee. (Heh.)
I especially like how this group plays up the supposedly taboo relationship. It's funny to me, especially that tree house scene.
My favorite part of this story is how Parker, Hugh, and Trig help their hot mess step sister become better. She needs a little help, and even though the methods of persuasion might be a little painful, in the end everything works out.
I'm excited to see if there will be more stories like this in the near future.
There was just something off for me about the way the stepbrothers took control of Clarice's life. Too domineering, too demanding. Late in the book, they acted like all she had to do was say no, but that never felt true. It very much felt like it was their way, period. And that was uncomfortable for me.
Also! It was odd to me that Clarice didn't realize Sean's familial connection after being in the family house. Surely, given how family-focused the dad was, there should have been some family photos hanging up?
Anyways, overall, it *is* what it says it is - not exactly my cup of tea. I guess I just need mine with a little more sugar? :)
Holy shit!! Let’s just say this book is spicy from chapter one all the way to the end!! I love stepbrother reverse harem books and this one didn’t disappoint!! It was my first read from this author and I know for a fact I’m going to check out other books from her! I loved Clarice! Her character felt realistic with wanting a dream but not having the support to make it happen then comes are stepbrothers Hugh, Parker and Trig who give her the push she needs to succeed in life!! I love the four of them together!!!
Can’t remember when I’ve read a book from this lady and not loved it, this was so good, I’d quite enjoy it if she wrote a sequel to go along with it. Brilliant characters with so much depth and development, and their chemistry is just amazing. R/H romance with 3 stepbrothers and a sister who is not scared of saying what she wants. Spanking is definitely on the cards in this book, so if it’s not your thing go get another book. Well written and very good reading.
I like the stepbrother trope well enough but not this story unfortunately, it wasn’t about them being stepbrothers but them being entitled pricks who think she should ‘obey’ them or get spanked, I’m ok with spankings in books as a kink but not as punishment; this entire book was a huge turn off for me, last thing on my mind after getting spanked for punishment would be sexy times, book would have also been way better if she kept her carefree fun throughout
I absolutely loved this book. I wasn't expecting the ending the way it happened which to me was good. It wasn't like other books of the genre I have read. I would 100% reread. I think the only thing it really lacked was romance and a lot of drama. But for all smuttyness I got, I am totally okay with that aha
I adore stepbrother romances. This one fell horribly flat for me. With how they call her a loser and whore it’s just downright horrible. They insult her for what she likes.-flannel bottoms. And just critique everything about her and try to come in and change her completely. they were sexist and hypocritical. I just could not get into. It was horrible.
Phew! Those sexy scenes were delicious. I loved the bossy dominance each of the brothers brought to the relationship. If you love the hot sexy factor in your books then this one is for you. I do wish the storyline was fleshed out a bit more and that there was some added perspective from the guys point of view. Overall, I did enjoy this read.
I love how free and sexually confident Clareece is. I loved her and "Sean" and how they immediately clicked. Then I came to love her relationship with Hugh and Parker and now protective they are and how they gave her confidence and helped her grow. Hated Wendy. Ugh.... perfect wrap up and would love more from them
It wasn't bad as such, it just wasn't particularly impressive. I get the idea behind it, but it ramps up in an entirely illogical way, and I'm not entirely keen on the approach.
The writing also feels very simplistic, and fails to get across much characterization. One word follows another, and scenes take place, but nothing meaningful seems to happen.
I absolutely loved this book from start to finish. It was hard to put the book down because the story was catching, funny, sexy and lovely.
If you like step sibling taboo, hot sex in many different forms, spanking and sharing, then this is definitely a book for you. This will not be the last of Lily Harlems books that I read!
If you're in need of a book good for a quick self care session with high spice and no real story or plot, this is the perfect book for you. Really, we all know why we read these specific types of books. If there had been more thought in development, it would have got more stars from me.
It wasn't bad but it just felt like it was missing something and therefore I couldn't really get into the story or care about what happened to the characters. I did have an issue with Wendy & Sharron (the MC's supposed besties). With friends like that, who needs enemies!
Plotless instalust story of a ditzy doormat who instantly submits to, and is treated like trash by, three over-the-top sexist douchebag control freaks who never learned (or more likely couldn't care less) about consent.
I love the dynamics in their relationship. I also love that the guys only want what's best for Clarice. They urge her to achieve her goals and overcome her current circumstances. Lots of fun sexxy time too.
Stepbrothers is sizzling hot, spicy, and exciting RH romance! With three sexy and dominant stepbrothers who’ll send your pulse’s racing, this is one book that’s not to be missed!
I thought this was going to be a quick smutty read. Well it wasn’t quick but it was smutty, but I really enjoyed seeing Clarice grow with the support of her stepbrothers.
