My tags might not be consistent with my reviews for the prior books, but I don't necessarily feel like digging them up and checking what I did when, particularly if a tag is so unmemorable as to not be relevant anymore.

Anyway, sometimes I forget this isn't technically an "time travel story, since it's the same world but thousands of years after Gaius reincarnated into Matthias—which is relevant backstory in this volume. That really strikes me as such a selfish thing to do, since there's absolutely zero chance of ever seeing anyone you know from your prior life.

Well, about that...

Ahem.

This volume is pretty much the same as the rest in the series (except for the first volume, since that's essentially establishing the party's status quo): Matty is confidently OP against the enemy but lets his party members contribute as best they can to demonstrate how much they've improved. In this one, he admits that the Stage 2 enemies would have annihilated them just two months before, but their training has gone so well that it's not even a challenge. That seems curious, considering the twist, but okay.

I do like the twist, though, if only from what I mentioned above *coughspoilercough*, so it will be interesting to see if this changes the formula of the stories from here on (probably not).

Again, recommended for readers who've followed along from the start, not exactly easy to jump in as a newcomer.

We finally see Matthias and his companions confront the ancient king, Grevil, in an epic battle. The action sequences are well-paced and exciting, showcasing the power of both sides. Additionally, the volume delves deeper into the history of the world and the motivations of the antagonists, adding layers of complexity to the narrative.

However, the humor, which is a staple of the series, might take a backseat in this volume due to the seriousness of the situation. Additionally, some readers might find the resolution a tad predictable due to Matthias' immense power.

Overall, Volume 15 delivers a satisfying conclusion to the current arc while setting the stage for even bigger challenges to come. Fans of the series will appreciate the action, world-building, and the seeds planted for future conflicts. This earns it a solid four-star rating.

Sure, the time skip was a bit cheesy but omg IRIS was 100 bamf here so yeah. And loved the resolution of this storyline. High level of cheese all over the place but I’m right in the mood for that so yeah. Loved this one.
