Do you wish a decluttering expert could come alongside you to help tackle specific roadblocks that always derail your decluttering journey? Dana K. White, self-proclaimed recovering slob and author of Organizing for the Rest of Us and Decluttering at the Speed of Life, is here to help with her original audio series, Decluttering Deep Dives.
Quick audiobook (less than an hour) that talks about the basics of decluttering. I liked it so much that it prompted me to read her full-length book, Organizing for the Rest of Us, which I enjoyed and would recommend!
I enjoyed this quick listen. I am always mindful of clutter and I really enjoy being peaceful in my space. Less is more. The less things brought into the house make for less clutter to deal with.
This one especially hits for those of with anxiety and an unstable childhood that created some bad habits and ideas on stuff that do not serve our home well. I've definitely fallen victim to the scarcity mindset because really, when you have gone periods without, it is natural that your mind wants to keep the cycle from repeating. But it can also be a trauma response that keeps us from living in the present. I like how Dana focuses on the present instead of trying to predict and be 100% prepared for the future.
Short audiobook or more of a podcast, although it was short, I found the advice very helpful. Especially the realistic situation the author described from her own life. And the honest way she is speaking about her own decluttering issues. Listened to it while folding laundry.
Needed something to jumpstart my forever declutter journey, and this was short and sweet and I love the advice to look at an item and ask 'Where would I first look for this is I needed it?'.
