When reserved Macy Windsor’s college sweetheart divorces her just before she turns 31, she feels like she should be having a baby right now instead of suddenly becoming single. While she’s mourning her lost marriage with her much bolder bestie, Lorna, at their girls’ night in, her friend is instead celebrating Macy’s freedom. And when Macy mentions her thwarted hopes of becoming a mother soon, Lorna is the first to assure her she doesn’t need a husband to have a baby.
Macy is shocked to learn that Lorna is part-owner of a secret breeding club that helps women that have partner issues rather than infertility issues try to get pregnant. When Macy eventually decides to become a Club Isis client, she’s matched with Rory, a club stud who is getting ready to retire after paying his way through college and grad school.
But when both parties start feeling more between them than just a business relationship, things get more complicated. Add to that the fact that Rory is really Roarke Lancaster, the estranged son of Bruce Lancaster, publishing house magnate—who happens to be Macy’s boss. When his secret identity comes to light, things get messy. Macy—and Roarke—have to figure out how they really feel.
This book was okay. I liked the characters and the overall story well enough but the writing style wasn’t my favorite. I found myself very annoyed with all the bold typing for emphasis on words with already implied emphasis it wasn’t needed and was honestly more distracting than anything.
I like the inter action between these love birds he was very gentle and understanding with her he fulfilled her need made her feel loved. Love happy endings.
But I really read this book 2 stars. I’m surprised so the idea of it is appealing otherwise why would I read this book but Kia? Dean is letting me down again with the way she tries to execute these stories so we have these two people younger man trying to get her pregnant, but they end up forming a connection, if you want to write a story that’s just about sex write a story that’s just about sex. Don’t try to add depth to it. That’s what he tried to do here but we didn’t see or witness really any of them getting to know each other we’re just being told. Oh yeah, we learned about each other‘s past, don’t tell and then the only scenes we had together they were busy having sex, but don’t try to camouflage yourself or not camouflage but don’t try to dress yourself up as a romance when that’s not what’s happening here it’s just crazy that you randomly the two of them are at some farmers market together and there’s paparazzi. I mean he’s with a publishing company. I’m sorry. OK there’s not gonna be paparazziand some punk remote place of a publisher like no these these people are not like Paris Hilton OK so that is totally fetched and unbelievable and then she has this accident and you know it was just really stupid
