"REXROTH HYDRAULIC TRAINING, Dessigning Electronically Controlled Hydraulic Systems, For: Design Engineers Who are Involved with Process Controls, Those Who Need Simplified Remote Control and Those Interested in a Higher Degree of Automation. The modern approach to solving hydraulic system design problems incorporates the use of electronic controls. However, for many hydraulically oriented engineers, electronic control is an entirely new field of study. For this reason, electronic control is often viewed as the "black box" in our knowledge of control concepts. During the 1970's Rexroth developed an entire line of electronically controlled components. Our efforts have resulted in two specifically different groups of products. They are proportionally controled components and servo values. Our course is designed to explain the difference between these two types of control concepts, and show you how approximately 85% of all "proportional systems" can be designed with little or no electronic engineering. Our five day school is devided into three major subject groups. First, we will show you the components which are available to interface hydraulic systems with electronic control. For instance, we will show you how you can replace a standard directional control and several flow controls with a single directional proportional value, and at the same time improve system performance. We will also cover proportional pressure controls, flow controls and pump controls. The second part of this session will be devoted to a layman's approach to basic electronics. Here you will learn the jargon of the electronic industry. We define and work with words such as dither, hysterisis, ramp generators, and sensitivity of response. From this part of the session you will learn enough about electronics so that you know the field adjustments that are available on the standard electronic control packages supplied by Rexroth. You will also be exposed to information which will help..."(from book)
