Tensions escalate across the Imperium Empire. Dwerves hunt for new Krackus worlds to raid. The Imperium executors hope to put an end to the huge armed ship’s rampage, and they delegate the duty to those imperators with the most experience against the empire’s invaders.
An odd occurrence takes place for the Dwerves. With food supplies running low, they locate a world without Krackus oversight. It’s assumed to be an unprotected agrarian civilization. Then a blue and cream ship shaped like a seedling launches from the world toward them.
The Dwerve council is disrupted by the presence of the small ship. Stoking the internal turmoil is the captain’s new idea. He suggests they communicate with the ship and offer to trade with the locals.
Council members are incensed by this proposal. They demand the captain take from the world what the ship needs. However, the captain fears who might be aboard the ship. Its sleek design imitates the tri-hulled ships the Dwerves have seen before. Those ships are armed with beam weapons.
Cremsylon, the eldest SADE, believes his role in the Axis Crossing worlds has reached its zenith, and he chooses to participate in the conclave’s actions against the Imperium Empire. He sails the Freedom to gather the newest warships produced by the Quellers for the conclave. Then he embarks on a radical move. With some select passengers to accompany him, the SADE visits the Krackus home world.
From my early years to the present, books have been a refuge. They’ve fueled my imagination. I’ve traveled to faraway places and met aliens with Asimov, Heinlein, Clarke, Herbert, and Le Guin. I’ve explored historical events with Michener and Clavell, and I played spy with Ludlum and Fleming.
There’s no doubt that the early sci-fi masters influenced the writing of my first two series, The Silver Ships and Pyreans. I crafted my stories to give readers intimate views of my characters, who wrestle with the challenges of living in space and inhabiting alien worlds.
Life is rarely easy for these characters, who encounter aliens and calamities, but they persist and flourish. I revel in examining humankind’s will to survive. Not everyone plays fair or exhibits concern for other beings, but that’s another aspect of humans and aliens that I investigate.
My stories offer hope for humans today about what they might accomplish tomorrow far from our home world. Throughout my books, humans exhibit a will to persevere, without detriment to the vast majority of others.
Readers have been generous with their comments, which they’ve left on Amazon and Goodreads for others to review. I truly enjoy what I do, and I’m pleased to read how my stories have positively affected many readers’ lives.
If you’ve read my books, please consider posting a review on Amazon and Goodreads for every book, even a short one. Reviews attract other readers and are a great help to indie authors, such as me.
The Silver Ships novels have reached Amazon’s coveted #1 and #2 Best-Selling Sci-Fi book, multiple times, in the science fiction categories of first contact, space opera, and alien invasion.
S. H. Jucha is a fantastic storyteller. His books always keep me enthralled. In this book we meet a new race called the Dwerves and discover what happened to Fredia and the 12 expelled sisters. I cannot wait to start the next installment of this exciting series.
I read this as an audiobook downloaded from Audible. The book is thirteen hours and seven minutes. Nicole Poole does a good job narrating the story.
Militarist Sisters, Radags and Raiders are the main enemies. The Conclave has run out of patience.
Plenty of action and character development. Doctorg has become a good Imperium strategist. Insights into the Radags society and culture. Surprising developments with the Militarist Sisters occur. The Helgart Dissidents' repatriation is speeded up and the Conclave's patience with the Imperium has run out.
The stories are strong and believable. The characters are also good and well developed.
If you like science fiction that has its basis in compassion, this is right for you. If you like blood, guts and gore you will be disappointed.
It will help with the main background characters if you have read the Silver Ship series, the Pyrean series and the first 7 books of the Gate Ghost series. The only character carry overs are the SADES from the Silver Ship series seeing that the Gate Ghosts series occurs approximately 500 years later and only the digital entities have survived that long.
Another great chapter in the Gate Ghosts war against ignorance!
When will we learn to stop subjugation of beings for the sole reason of them being different from us? (Or simply because one can!) Why is there even the designation of them and us? There is only WE!!!
Jucha has a fertile mind and a gentle pen... we should all listen better!
S.H. Jucha has a great imagination, wonderful, races and characters, fascinating interactions, and intriguing technologis. However, sometimes, there are more side stories than seem needed for a complete development of the otherwise thoroughly, captivating tales.
Another fantastic book in the series. Jucha continues the Gate Ghosts saga and does not disappoint with this latest release. If you are a fan of this series, what are you waiting for?
Jucha does it again. Multiple storylines with familiar characters with snarky commentary. As usual, good always triumphs over evil. Leaves you anxious to read the next book.
Disruption of the Empire is underway while complications increase.
Lot of activities on many fronts to gain control of the Empire races by freeing them one at a time. The last Sister group tries a new approach and helps the raider ship. Many questions to be answered.
As things escalate in the bid to end the krakus domination of other species, a new threat comes out of the dark. Things get interesting on many different worlds.
Missed this book somehow I guess that explains a few thinks from book number 9! I did like 9 much better than this one but the storyline on the planet with the 'lost' sisters is interesting.
I did my level best to not finish this book quickly , but to no avail. I quickly got wrapped right up in the events and before I knew it, I was done. Most enjoyable and I highlight recommended to anyone! Thanks
