Sinister Winds: A Psychological Thriller

Rate this book
Out of the darkness of destruction in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina comes hope as Abby continues to find herself guided by Voodoo Priestess Pearl Duval. Pearl, a wizened Cajun woman, helps Abby stay one step ahead of the evil that seeks to get its hands on what now belongs to her and her alone—the child she now carries and the only good thing to come out of her abusive marriage to the man with the black heart.

Though Abby does not understand the reason for the woman’s help, she is more than fascinated to learn that Pearl can not only steer her in the right direction but also appear in the dreams of those in positions to help her keep her baby safe.

After finding out her life is built on a foundation of deceit, will Abby be able to live a life of truth, or will she instead find herself weaving lies to cover up a mortal sin?

Will she be able to stay under the radar of those determined to take the baby she now carries? Or is the baby destined to live a life that mirrors that of her mother?

Find out in Sinister Winds, book two of The Storm Series.

After being rescued by helicopter after Hurricane Katrina, Abby faces a whole new life. Can she let go of the past and move on safely; is that even a possibility?

Though this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone. I would suggest reading the first one to learn the extent of Abby’s abuse and understand her actions.

Abby and her friend Kevin have the best camaraderie! Their snarky comments to each other add humor to some pretty tense times. They have an incredible friendship.

The whole voodoo aspect gives it a bit of an eerie feel. Though it isn’t heavy in the story, it leads the story from beginning to end. I love that so much comes to the characters in their dreams.

The ending made me happy. 😃

Check out this series if you like books with serious issues that also include some humor and characters that you can love and hate

Sherry Burton does it again!

First there was Surviving the Storm, and now Sinister Winds, both are fast paced intriguing and well written books.
Abby marries Jacob, the man who has always been there for her as protector and friend. That is until their wedding day, then he shows Abby who he really is, the son of the devil!
That's where Sinister Winds takes over. After Abby escapes and finds her way to Kevin and safety she is finally happy, until she's not. Then she is reminded of Jacob's warnings, she will never be safe, his people will find her wherever she goes.

Sherry's books are page turners, fast paced and exciting. She is also the writer of the popular Jerry McNeal series with his partner Gunter who happens to be a 90 pound German Shepherd police dog, who also happens to be a ghost!
I highly recommend the Storm series, you won't be disappointed! .

FAST PACED!

A fast paced thriller! A young woman, Abigail, has lost her husband. Believing he overdosed. Two months later her parents also die, of carbon monoxide poisoning. But everything is not all that it seems. Abby has trusted a family friend who is much older than she and has claimed to have loved her all her life. After much presshuring, on his part, she finally decides to move down to New Orleans to live with him and hopefully marry him. After many red flags show up Abbey still talks herself into marrying him. Now the adventure begins. Many Thanks to the author for a great two book series!

Not out of problems yet!

Another fantastic suspenseful read from Sherry Burton! Abby is still not free if the business Jacob was involved with. Her past is still out to get her, but FBI saved the day... With twists and turns to keep your wondering if she really is safe! Only time will tell.

This book was beyond good! Had me on my toes, if I didn’t have a toddler at home I could have finished it in one sitting! I read the first book Surviving the Storm and was left with so many questions that this book answered perfectly and beautiful! & I’m so happy with how it ended! This could totally be a movie if it isn’t already!

it is a little creepy

Love love this author but this plot had very creepy subject regarding children trafficking. I did question a lot of Abby decisions and question where were her friends in California. She is 31 she must have one girlfriend right? Did feel she is not safe this group of evil will find them.

Sinister Winds book 2

Abby on the run to have a normal life for her baby. Afraid of her dead husbands words her baby was sold as soon as it would be born. In witness relocation and new names they are safe. Of course the author Sherry A. Burton named the child after voodoo priestess’.

Great book!

After reading the Orphan train series, I was anxious to read other books by Ms. Burton. Not a surprise that I was not disappointed. If you enjoy situations that seem to have no way out, you will enjoy this series as much as I did. Thanks for the good reads, Ms. Burton!

Sinister Winds

What a great story from one of my favorite storytellers. Abby and Kevin, now Katherine and Tom are living the good life for the first time with Eva Pearl and Killer, Jr.

Sinister Winds

Wow, for a sequel, this was a fantastic follow up! I loved the characters by the end of this book, though I was frustrated with Abby in the first book. I can't wait to pick out my next Sherry Burton story!
