For over ten years, Sidney Wilks and Grady Nash have devoted their lives to each other. With their relationship solid and thriving, they each turn their attention to their careers.
Nash loves his job as a day trader but hates what it’s doing to his body. The hours of sitting in front of a computer combined with his love of beer begin to take a toll on his aging body. Worried that he’ll lose Sidney to the hot muscled construction worker his partner works closely with, Nash decides to get his body back into shape, no matter the cost to his overall health.
After the death of his father, Sidney is so busy dealing with the years of hurt and betrayal at the hands of Jackson Wilks that he doesn’t notice the warning signs of Nash’s dangerous new lifestyle. When Nash’s sex drive falters, Sidney turns the rebuffs inward instead of looking at the bigger picture.
It will take the counsel of a close friend to open Sidney’s eyes to what is really going on, but will it be too late?
And life goes on for Nash and Sidney. The ups, the downs, the worries and the love continues...just like in real life. This one didn't grab me like the first two but it is still really good and I can't wait for the final installment. I just hope it ends with a HEA because I will have to boycott Carol Lynne for life otherwise...lol
3.5-4* I seldom get to read a story about an established relationship, so I enjoyed that aspect of this story. There are a lot of people and issues in this story, jealousy, health and financial worries, childhood trauma, substance abuse. Sidney and Nash are a sweet couple and it was nice to follow their lives for a bit.
Another great addition into Sidney and Nash's story. This one was filled with deep emotions. We get to meet new characters and catch up with old ones. It was a great read.
In 'Fall', the third book of the Seasons of Love series by Carol Lynne, Sidney and Nash come into the more settled phase of their relationship, which is nice in some ways and dangerous in others. Their focus shifts from worrying about how being together is going to be accomplished, to being concerned about the changes that come from within themselves, physically and mentally, and, as always, learning how to deal with them.
Nash has squelched most of his fears about being successful and holding his own, but starts to have other doubts. He is nine years older than Sidney; he starts wondering about his physical appearance and his ability to keep Sidney's attention. Nash continues to try to protect Sidney from some of the worries he faces and, again, it backfires, causing hurt and mistrust between them. Even after all this time, Nash doesn’t completely trust in Sidney's ability to handle difficult matters. He's still trying to shelter Sidney the way he's done since Sidney was ten years old, even though Sidney has more than proven he can handle whatever happens.
Sidney is now happy in his occupation and getting the credit he deserves for his creativity, yet he senses that things are not quite right with Nash. Try as he may, he can't reassure Nash that nothing will ever come between them. Sidney's rejection of his father when he's dying hurts more than ever; Sidney shows his incredible strength as he is determined to heal and overcome the grief and pain it causes. While distracted, he fails to be aware of Nash's distress and blames Nash's indifference on himself. Fortunately, due to their strong and abiding love, in this Fall of their relationship, they are able to come to a stable place in their lives, renewing their commitment to each other.
As difficult as it to imagine, with each of these books I've become more involved with Sidney and Nash. This is even truer because it's not a fairy tale, perfect relationship. It's believable and admirable to imagine two people who care more for each other than they do for themselves. It's special, unique, and heartwarming. I recommend the third book in this series as highly as I do the other two and would again say reading the other two before delving into book three is a good idea. You don't want to miss any of part of experiencing Sidney and Nash's love!
NOTE: This book was provided by Total-E-Boud for the purpose of a review on QMO Books.
This is the third book in the Season of Love series. In this book we see misunderstandings, insecurities and vulnerabilities between Nash and Sidney. Even after so many years together they are finding that there is no finish line to an HEA. Relationships take work. Commitment is something you chose every day and being honest and communicating with each other can save a relationship.
I love, love, LOVE Nash. He is so amazing. He gives everything to Sidney. Sidney has been and continues to be his world. Everything comes back to his love for Sidney and the knowledge that his love is unbreakable. I love that Nash pushes himself to open up to Sidney and I love that Sidney stands by Nash. Their history means something. What they have built is worth saving. Both Nash and Sidney make choices to keep them together when it could have been so easy to let their relationship fall apart.
We continue to have storylines with the secondary characters and those add a lot of depth to not only the overall story but to Nash and Sidney’s relationship as well. I loved the point made that family was something you could choose. After the awful father Sidney was born to, he has a gift for drawing people to him and creating lasting love and relationships to others who become his chosen family.
This book shows that while the hot passion of a new relationship does fade into something more comfortable over time, what is left is not less than. In fact, it is more meaningful and, if tended to and nourished, can become so much a part of who you are that it feeds your soul.
Seasons of Love series has a theme running just underneath the main plot and subplots. In Book 3, Fall, the theme is secrets and the harm caused when lies are allowed to fester, sometimes for years.
Sidney and Nash both have to determine what it is they want from each other and from life. It isn’t an easy inspection of the past and where it leads them isn’t entirely resolved by the end of this book.
This is an exploration of a lifelong committed relationship. Each book has built on the story from the one before, and each book is both a part of the whole and a bit of the romance by itself. I can hardly wait for the next installment. I love Sidney and Nash and when this series is over will miss them very much.
Rainy evening, blanket and cup of coffee plus this story equals a perfect time for me (wonder why I'm single).I am loving this concept, story about two men who mean everything to each other and we get to see the journey through their lives. I love how they deal with stuff that gets thrown into their path of happiness. Both MCs are wonderful, real men with flaws which leads to some trouble but it always comes back to that magical thing called love. Yes, I love everything about this story...all the characters, the dialogues, the real problems every relationship has to face at some point...I cannot wait for the next (last?) book.
Its another well written story with a realistic premise. Just what I've come to expect from Ms. Lynne and she's done it again with this story of continuing deep love. I really appreciate that she tackled such realistic topics and did it well, all while keeping Nash and Sidney together, despite the troubles they were having. Through it all their relationships stands firm and growing stronger despite their troubles. I can't wait to see what happens in the last release, Winter.
Carol Lynne is a brilliant author and has done it again with the Season of Love series with the third book out called Fall. Wonderfully written and had me cheering and crying for the characters Sidney and Nash, as I read about these partners and the issues they face and how they over come odds put in there path I feel as I am one with the family in the book. I recommend the book and yes I beleieve it is best read in order.
This was a beautiful continuation of Sidney and Nash's relationship. I appreciated the realistic portrayal of the trials and tribulations facing this couple who had been together for more than a decade. They dealt with a variety of issues, including aging bodies and health concerns, jealousy, financial worries, family relationships, etc., and it was simply wonderful to see them still so rock solid in their love at the end. Can't wait for the next one.
Another brief look into Nash and Sidney's life. While I enjoy reading about them, I think I'm ready for this one to be over. A sweet as this couple are, its starting to get repetitive. Not to mention randomly changing a side character from a womanizer into an out and proud guy man over night seemed unecessary and a little anoying.
This book had a few gasping moments for me. I truly love the couples in this book and was excited that Josh was back and doing good for now. I was kinda hoping that Josh and Mike would hook up. Thank god that Nash is okay and Sidney will always be there to take care of him as much as Nash always takes care of Sidney.
Solid story of the continuation of Nash and Sidney's life. I liked seeing how it wasn't all easy and there were some scary moments for them but they made it through and continue on. They seem to know how lucky they are with the "family" they have and have made.
