GUARDIAN DEVIL is a funny, fast-paced dramedy about family, relationships, and making love count. It will appeal to readers who enjoy Jonathan Tropper and Nick Hornby.
Clark Wells is one miserable son-of-a-bitch. As a creative director in an ad agency, he is a professional smart-ass who makes a living by propelling other people into action. His own inability to act in life instantly challenged by the sudden appearance of his 60-something, self-appointed, guardian devil, Donovan MacNabb.
When Clark is lured back to his old stomping grounds by his alleged-best-friend Wesley, the less-than-angelic Donovan crashes the party and cuts loose with hilarious, hard-earned wisdom. Their road-trip gets hijacked into a thought-provoking, heart-rendering inner journey packed with an abundance of colorful characters, surprising twists, and emotional turns. The clock is ticking on Clark’s true love – will he redeem himself in time?
GUARDIAN DEVIL is a quirky, bighearted, belly-laugh of a debut novel.
Henke does an amazing job of developing characters that feel like people I know. There are several storylines that weave together like a fine tapestry (with a couple of snags here & there). I couldn’t put the book down. This is a fun story with bits of wisdom that we can all apply to our lives. Give Guardian Devil a read - you will not be disappointed!
