Second, this is straddling that line there between right and wrong. The man literally raised her up since she was two or something. I mean.................. last time I checked, this wasn't shelved under dark romance nor taboo. But then, I might be preaching to the wrong crowd.

I've gotten de-oversensitize after not picking up smut over a month. Yeesh. No wonder some people got so judgemental over us.
Thirdly, MILKING is again not my thing. It sounds, in theory, should be my thing. But honey, sometimes I found kinks out there that make me think, why the hell is that a kink? Like, I need someone to sit down and explain to me why this is hot, because I don't see it. I'll keep an open mind.

Dani Wyatt's latest release, Step-Farmer, is an age-gap and forbidden romance that continues the theme of the
Wanting What's Wrong
series. Eli and Ruby have a pseudo uncle/father figure type of relationship even though they are not related to each other by blood. However, there is no denying that he did raise her into adulthood and their relationship is not "right" by traditional standards. The author does introduce a new element to her books that will surprise and delight many readers. Despite their age-gap, Eli and Ruby's relationship worked for me because he had been in love with her for years. There was a point in their relationship that changed from something that was familial to an increasingly dark and sinful desire. As always, Dani Wyatt excels at the rising sexual tension and dirty talk between her characters. Although I didn't really care for the Marcy and David sub-plot, I did enjoy seeing Eli assert his authority over those teenagers when push came to shove. What I cared more for was the blooming relationship between our main couple and the author surely delivered. It was wicked and super steamy—everything you'd want in a short erotic romance.
In the end, I really enjoyed Eli and Ruby's story and look forward to whatever Dani Wyatt has in stores for her readers next. If I could summarize this book in three words, it would be "sweet and dirty." All Eli ever wanted for Ruby was her happiness and he absolutely succeeded in taking care of all her needs. In addition to having a neglectful and self-absorbed father, Eli was the only male figure in her life and he eventually became everything she wanted for herself. I highly recommend this book and series to those who like the age-gap and forbidden romance tropes. Fans of Dani Wyatt will enjoy this immensely as it features a possessive and obsessive hero who will do anything for his sweet and innocent heroine. The book does end with a cute and sexy epilogue between Eli and Ruby.

Well, this one was different! Definitely taboo as the hero has practically raised the heroine (he was her guardian when her father was declared dead.)
This had lots of elements I love in a romance—an innocent heroine, an obsessed, protective, possessive and determined hero who will cross any line to claim his woman, including some light stalking. And who doesn’t love a behemoth hero who is the town outcast?
What kinda threw me off was the whole milking thing (that’s an unintentional pun right there!) can’t say as Ive ever really read about that kink. And the part where he calls her his little cow..welp, that’s a new one. Didn’t exactly bring the swoon for me, it was too weird but i did love the ending with a big family. There were enough aspects of this little romance nugget, that while not swoony, didn’t piss me off, so I enjoyed it. I love a dark, taboo romance that’s safe, so 4 stars for that alone, milk kinkery aside!

I’m mixed about this author. I really love this genre of super fast, hot & steamy quick reads. Several authors in this genre are at the top of my list of must-read favorites (OTT & Jessa Kane). Others are a miss for me because of lack of steamy spice. This author definitely falls on the favorites side of the fence with me but not quite at the top of the list.
In this case the spicy steaminess was definitely there but the storyline was a fail with me. Granted, it was just there to move the story along and doesn’t mean much, but I felt like it was all over the place. Teen boys fighting, MMC traumatic and embarrassing history and ongoing harassment, bff knocked up / her bf not stepping up, and the FMC dad plot line that came out of nowhere and then went nowhere…. Plus the teenager lactating and pumping 4x a day was just weird and admittedly not one of my more favorite kinks to read. The best part about this story was definitely the taboo nature of basically a father/ daughter relationship plus I love some good old-fashioned stalking, yum…
I will DEFINITELY be picking up more books by Dani Watt, plus I love quick & dirty reads, but I’m not in any hurry.

An entertaining dynamic!
Ruby and Eli have a special relationship. He's her step-uncle, but the family lines are complicated. I liked the way the relationship kind of mushroomed out and thought it was cute that he was so obsessive of her. I really wanted to picture him as a big and burly mountain man kind of guy, but, I just couldn't. As I was reading it, I kept picturing him as that dude from the original Men in Black movie, the giant cockroach guy that uses skin suits? And as much as I kept trying, that mental image just wouldn't go away. Aside from that, it's a fun and quick read with interesting characters that grow on you. Once the spiciness starts, it just keep going, too, so there's that, lol

I would have enjoyed it more if it weren't for some inconsistencies: Like he is supposedly illiterate because his family took him out of school since farmers don't need books but was apparently in school long enough to be a senior who got publicly humiliated by girls pretending he won homecoming king. But then he managed to write her a little love note with a childish handwriting.
I was also waiting for Ruby to find out that Eli was giving her lactation cookies and special tea to make her lactate.
The end was also underwhelming... there was a twist her dad was alive after faking his death and left her money and lied about Eli siphoning her money away, seducing her to take it all. But Eli explained it all away after she woke up from passing out. I don't know what the point of this ending was as it contributed nothing to the story. Public outcry/scandal about them being together, or Ruby learning he was giving her lactation cookies and feeling a little manipulated would have been a better climax ending for them to get through before their HEA.

Eli gives them both a pounce when they try to take her away from him lying that he had stole her money. She faints from tension. They are happy and that’s fine. Six years later they have 4 kids and still are going at it. Love their kinks. Her dad is a business man living in another city and is thriving and loves his grandchildren but wasn’t ever meant to be a father but still loves her.

Step-Farmer, Book 5 of the Wanting What's Wrong series, was about 18-year-old Ruby Morton and 45-year-old Elijah "Eli" Heartson, her step-uncle (Eli's mother married her dad's father).
Before I start this review, let it be known that not many people will like this story. While the two main characters were not blood-related, Eli did raise her from the age of 8 years old, and Ruby always thought of him as her uncle, until she turned 18 that is.
When Ruby was 8, she was taken to her Uncle Eli's home due to her father having died. Although he had known her from the age of two, Eli had never expected to be a family man, but since she had no one else, he manned up and took responsibility. Over the next 10 years, their relationship started to morph from guardian/ward to something more.
There were quite a few surprises in the short story that some readers won't like, while others will shrug and say, "It's just fiction, folks. Don't have a cow!". Me? I'll keep my opinions to myself and just write a simple review.
The angst and drama were on a medium level, but the spicy scenes were on the lower end of the scale. It felt more like the author was trying to justify her writing this story...almost as if she had some kind of guilt for doing so. Why? Who knows. Anyway, it was an okay story, but there was a lot left to be desired about it. It was lacking in so many ways, and it just wasn't as good as some of her other writings. Was it the subject matter that caused it to be lacking? Not really. I think it was more along the lines of it being such a taboo subject that made it feel as though there was some kind of shame to be had, both in the writing as well as the reading of it.
Both of the main characters were written in such a way that they came across as not only naive but dimwitted. Oh, the author had the FMC as highly intelligent, yet overly innocent in every other way. At the same time, the MMC was written in such a way as to be less intelligent and backward enough to feel shame and embarrassment for that very deficiency. It was almost as if the author looked down on both of the characters she created with a touch of disdain.
I only gave this story a one-star rating, mainly because of how poorly the author treated her characters. While I liked both Ruby and Eli, it seemed as if the author did not. Yes, there was too much about this story that was disappointing, but it wasn't the subject matter or the characters.

I've read a few other books by this Author and they were hot, but not this one. First off, the description of the FMC is that she is short, wears thick, black framed glasses, and has hair the color of "burnt gravy". She has been given the nickname Velma from Scooby Doo. To say a person has any similarities with Velma does not paint an attractive picture of the FMC. I have never heard of someone's hair being described as "burnt gravy" and I hope to never hear it again because it sounds ugly. I don't want an FMC to be perfect, but attractive? Yes. Would you read a book where the Male Main Character had a beer belly and man boobs? The fact that the MMC can't read or write just isn't believable. At page 57 Ruby says "I have so much milk. I could be one of the cows in the barn"😑. The dirty talk is horrible and at times gross. The only positive thing I can say about this book is that it has multi-POVs which is rare for smut books like this. I cannot stand single POVs. I would not recommend this book to anyone....at least not to someone I like.

So good and so naughty. This book is too short to do this story line justice. Also, the surprise conflict in the next to last chapter made no logical sense. But typical of this author you get all this build up and a blip of what there relationship will be and the rushed ending that leaves you wondering where’s the rest of the story.
As for the relationships of the NPG’s, there’s no way that the that the undead father would have stayed in there lives if these characters were any less unreal. The FMC’s friend would have slowly wandered away as she is too shallow and self centered to have stayed in contact if she did become a single mother & nurse. And absolutely NOT would her dead beat baby daddy have been hanging around getting man talk from the MMC the whole town made fun of all his life.
It was so good and the was rushed and unrealistic. Good luck.

Eli has been Ruby's guardian for years. As he has watched her grow-up, he started to have inappropriate feelings for her. When she turns 18, he acts on them. Ruby has also had the same feelings. She is glad when he acts upon his feelings. Then her supposedly late father shows up. What will happen between Ruby and Eli?
I liked this story. I liked Ruby and Eli. They are opposites but Eli would do anything for Ruby. She knows this but does not take advantage of it which I liked. They have what they need. Her father is a piece of work. Her best friend is a mess. Eli tries to help her situation but neither the best friend nor her boyfriend is mature enough to do as Eli says. Lives are changed in this story--some better, others not so much.
Proofreading could have been better, but it won't stop me from reading the rest of the series.

As soon as Dani released information about this book I couldn't wait to read it! It's sexy, taboo and kinky in all the best ways. The chemistry and attachment between Eli and Ruby was super. I'm taking a star off because I personally don't like double virgin books. The H is always some sex God who knows exactly what he's doing and lasts for hours. But with these two having no technology and basically living off the grid. And neither one having any prior experience you would expect some fumbling and awkwardness but no they are a 10 out of 10 immediately. Story ends in a great place.

What the heck was this novella even about? I can excuse Ruby and her crush, she's freshly eighteen. Elijah however is a full grown man, who not only made his niece, the girl that he raised, lactate on purpose knowing how painful it is for her, groomed and stallked her and sneak peaked at her behind closed doors, but he also assulted her. Yes I see it as assult since Ruby said it was so wrong and yet he kept going, not to mention his breeding kink and wanting to immediatly knock her up.
