Dr. Charles F. Stanley is the senior pastor of First Baptist Church Atlanta, founder of In Touch Ministries, and a New York Times best-selling author who has written more than fifty books, and has sold more than nine million copies. He demonstrates a keen awareness of people's needs and provides Christ-centered, biblically-based principles for everyday life.

Charles Frazier Stanley was born September 25, 1932, in the small town of Dry Fork, Virginia. The only child of Charley and Rebecca Stanley, Charles came into the world during a time when the entire nation felt the grip of the Great Depression. To make matters worse, just nine months later, his father Charley died at the young age of 29.

However, Charles refused to let the Great Depression or the difficulties of his life define him. Instead, like his father and grandfather before him, he clung to God’s Word and took up the mantle to preach the gospel to whoever would listen.

Dr. Stanley’s motivation is best represented by the truth found in Acts 20:24, “Life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about God's mighty kindness and love.” This is because, as he says, “It is the Word of God and the work of God that changes people’s lives.”

Dr. Stanley’s teachings can be heard weekly at First Baptist Church Atlanta, daily on “In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley” radio and television broadcasts on more than 2,800 stations around the world, on the Internet at intouch.org, through the In Touch Messenger, and in the monthly, award-winning In Touch magazine.

The year 2016 incline with steadfastness to an end, for me a wonderful year at good reads, but also a year with lots of challenges at my workplace and greater as also minor trials within my life journey.
But before this year ends, I want to share with all my good friends and all the great and beautiful people at good reads, three books which have followed me during the whole year:
1) The Charles Stanley Life Principles Bible
2) A year with Aslan, daily reflections from the Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis.
3) the one year book of Psalms by William and Randy Petersen.
They are not reviews which contains much length or height in it, but I hope also they are without any languor.
The reason I don't want to withhold from you this three books, is because at least for me, they have worked very well.
Rather my intention consists to convey some of my experience I had with them, with the hope it might be of some help for any of you.
Here on this spot, I will only deal with the daily bible, the other two reviews follows separately.
Well, then let's get started...
First of all, my copy is a paperback, and after a year to be with me it looks quite frayed. So I would recommend better you get a hardback.
I've been blessed greatly with this daily bible. It has given me direction and light.
You have here the complete New American Standard Bible text in daily portions.
Hundreds of articles focused on application, which I have specially enjoyed.
More than one thousand life lessons giving insight, for me a very valuable tool to combat the ordinary blues.
And of course all the 30 life principles.
Deep from my heart I recommend this bible to everybody.....
If you are a Christian the better!!
Well, folks and neighbours, this has to suffice. So I hope you can and will make your mind and decide to own your own copy.
All the best to all of you, and let's say, God bless you all........
Dean:)

I highly recommend this Bible, it makes it really easy to read the Bible through in a year. Each day is lined out what you need to read.
I also enjoyed Charles Stanley's insight on verses and his life principles lessons.

I actually finished! Even a few days early. This was a daily plan with OT, Psalms, Proverbs and NT readings. Translation was New American Standard but I supplemented at times with a Catholic Study Bible (Today's English Version, though I did not read the Deuterocanonicals/Apocrypha) and I used the New King James frequently. Each had things to recommend with some excellent commentary in the Catholic Bible at the beginning of each book. Of course a full commentary would be incredibly useful but very time intensive and I did not want to stall out mid-way. The Stanley version keeps you on daily track and has some useful embedded messages, some less so. Not sure I recommend this as the 'best' way to read the entire Bible but it worked very well for a first time and got the job done. How do you review the Word of God? Carefully!

And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts." (Rev. 21:6).

This Bible is the NASB, updated edition, which is the an excellent literal translation and the one I most prefer. If I could only have one translation this is the one I'd choose. Charles Stanley has laid out this Bible to include his 30 Life Principles to help readers see principles of Bible passages and also how we can apply the Bible teachings to our own lives. In addition, he has put into place different readings that He has written that help the reader understand specific passages of the Bible. All in all, it is a type of study Bible. Although it is not my favorite study Bible, it was well worth the read and I am very glad that I read it. I recommend it to others, who might want to read a different study Bible than ones they have already read.

I was very impressed by the layout of this Daily Bible. It was very inviting and comfortable. It offers a portion from the Old Testament, the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs as well as study helps and inspirational interpretation. I found the apocalyptic endings of both testaments coming together at the end a bit daunting. Occasionally I didn't quite agree with the interpretation offered, but it always caused me to think more deeply about the text. A wonderful daily practice.

Excellent! What a wonderful way to read the Bible every day! I also experienced great benefit from Charles Stanley’s periodic explanations, Life Examples and Life Principles. These provided momentary pauses for me to reflect on what the meaning of the passages.
I’ll be reading this again starting tomorrow!!!

This is an excellent Bible. Dr. Charles Stanley gives a lot of good Biblical advice each day. He also gives the reader 30 Life Principles. These principles help anyone to have a more successful Christian life. I encourage other readers of the Holy Bible to read through this Bible in 2018.

I'm not a christian anymore, but this edition provides a very convenient way to read the bible through all the way without being daunting, like it would be if you were to simply read the bible from cover to cover.

Charles Stanley helps those with no faith understand the simplicity of taking a leap of faith to trust in God. For those that don't understand the standard King James version of the Bible or the International version, this Life Principles bible is for you!!!

I love everything about this Bible - (1) NASB translation is my favorite in terms of accuracy and readability; (2) it provides good context at the start of each book; (3) it provides easy-to-understand commentaries; and (4) it has devotions strewn about the pages!! :)
