Everyone assumes rich girls are spoiled brats. They don’t see us locked in our towers, being kept as pawns and nothing more. I’ve spent my life being caged, hidden from society to avoid shaming my father. I always knew the day would come that he’d try to marry me off in a business deal. His plans are ruined when he finds out I’ve been sneaking out and I’m not as pure as he thought. Then the Night Thieves chose my house to rob, kidnapping me in the process.
Cruz and Drake are my saviors, while Stone and Knox might be the death of me. I have to prove to them that I’m not the spoiled princess that they think I am. Even if that means getting my hands dirty in the process. Just when I think my life is in my control, I’m being hunted. My father should’ve been glad to be rid of me, but I was wrong.
I thought I was safe in the thieves' compound, but I was dead wrong. It turns out the biggest monster had been with me this whole time. Bruises I can handle, but not betrayal, and this one cuts deep. I guess there really is no honor among thieves after all.
*This is a dark reverse harem story and is book 1 in The Night Thieves duet. It must be read in order.
R.E. Bond is a dark romance author from Tasmania, Australia. She is obsessed with reverse harem books, especially if they have m/m! She collects paperbacks as a hobby, has read or written every day since she started high school, and constantly needs music in her daily life. She loves camping and rodeos in the summer, and not getting out of bed in the winter. Coffee and books are life, and curse words are just sentence enhancers.
📚 𝐍𝐎 𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐎𝐑 𝐀𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐒 📚 Is the first full length romance book within the (The Night Thieves) by author R.E. Bond. Spoken in 'Multiple perspectives.' In this you'll meet Penn, and the boys Drake, Cruz, Knox and Stone. Ends in a cliffy.
They were from the wrong side of the tracks, pegged as the 'Night Thieves.' Cruz is the calm level headed one of the group, and it didn't take him long to fall under Penn's spell. Drake is bi and in a relationship with Knox, he craves the affection Penn dishes out freely. Knox had zero understanding of feelings or emotion outside of anger. He's too worried about what others will think of him if he comes out of the closet admitting he's bi, he holds his feelings under a tight vault. Stone He was like a grumpy eighty year old man trapped in a twenty-five year old's body.He despises Penn for getting between him and his boys, he runs the show after taking over from his brother.
This exceeded all my expectations, was so easy to get into, was harder to put down.
Twenty-two year old Penn has been caged like an animal by her father for most of her life. Barely anyone knew of her existence Locked in her bedroom, fed tidbits, freedom was an illusion
Until thieves in the night stumbled across her locked in her gilded cage of a bedroom and kidnapped her. She was only to happy to pack her bags and freely go with them landing her at their compound.
These boys were not prepared for her, it didn’t take her long to wrap them around her little finger, even the tough hard headed Knox.
Stone was another story. He wanted her gone.
This ended on a major cliffy and the next instalment isn’t until next year!
She’s definitely not like other girls. She’s so stuff and unique. She is 22 for fucks sake and she acted like a bratty 12year old girl 🤦🏼♀️
Also: HOW CAN YOU FUCK THREE TIMES WITHOUT A CONDOM AND ALWAYS PANIC AFTERWARDS?! MAYBE HER PLAN B SHOULD BE PLAN C INSTEAD. C FOR CONDOM. DAMN🙃
Also: some scenes weren’t consensual. It’s not like „ohh please stop 🥺“ (but actually mean keep going). It was a panicked stop and sorry but that just not cool.
Also no TW in this book. 🤨

★2.5/5! Started out really good but it fell flat, it was still funish at times but overall really cringe. I was close to dnf however I’m glad I didn’t because the ending was a good twist. Grovelling in the second book better be amazing!
Loved loved LOVED it!! I mean.. these characters are great!! The crossovers, I absolutely adored.. I love seeing more of the Donovan family.. I feel like these are shows and I am just ecstatic.
This was a new to me author so I had no idea what to expect but almost instantly I was invested in this fast-paced super scorching reverse-harem read. Every character felt distinct and it has bonus points for having some delicious M/M as well. This is a reverse harem and It does have dark content mostly due to the criminal world it's set in. Penelope Whitlock, Penn to her friends is the daughter of an abusive piece of shit dad who's rich and extremely dodgy. She currently resides in a glass cage isolated and hidden away under the control of her father. Everything changes for Penn when whilst she's undergoing punishment by being locked in her room her home is burgled by the Night Thieves.
Taken back to their compound by Cruz and Drake who have no idea what to do with her now she can identify them Pen is introduced to a new reality. These men are part of a crew of professional thieves and also have some extremely questionable connections. But not everyone is happy about her presence. Knox, Drake's unexclusive boyfriend feels totally threatened by Penn and he makes no secret of this showcasing his disgust openly. Also, Stone the leader of the Night Thieves is a complete ass he believes Penn is playing his boys and just wants her to disappear so everything can return to normal. He doesn't trust her and thinks she's some poor little rich girl who's currently slumming it and who will run back to her daddy at the first opportunity.
I liked that this was a mixture of enemies to lovers and also had some serious insta-spice. Cruz and Drake are instantly smitten whilst Knox and Stone are both suspicious as hell. Pen is such a character she definitely uses humour to deflect and it's obvious she craves acceptance and affection something she's been starved of her whole life. Sex to her is almost transactional as she has never been taught any different. Penn was so eager to please and just wanted to be accepted she's also naturally dealing with plenty of trauma from her past.
This was easily digestible and the connections between all of the main characters felt authentic and they had chemistry together. We had danger and betrayal and a sense of found family and earned redemption. The set-up here is Penn eventually in a relationship with them all but we also have Knox and Drake who are a couple and have been together for years. I loved this aspect as it was especially lovely seeing Knox grow as an individual mostly due to Penn's influence and infectious personality. Penn was the missing piece. I also liked that every single character had flaws and some definitely had more than others.
I read this as a complete omnibus as I have a pretty special edition so I'm rating it as a whole. I found this to be well written and it easily retained my interest. I'd definitely read this author again and highly recommend this if you like reverse harem reads set in the criminal world.
I'm so fucking mad! Book two isn't even out! Ugh, good book, but I'm going to go into a book slump after this. It' a great story, but I'd recommend waiting for the series to finish before reading. Now, I'm going to bed angry.
DNF at 59%. I really like Cruz’s and Penns easy going relationship, but I found it hard to read after the dub-con scene. I realised I am really not a fan of those.
I thought this was a really fast and easy read. I wasn't a fan of the instalove, but if you like instalove then you will really like this book. Drake is the definition of golden retriever boyfriend and he is adorable. I wasn't the biggest fan of the book, but it was a good palate cleanser.
RE Bond starts a new series that crosses over from previous loved series and you will not be able to put it down.
We meet Penn right away and damn, she may have come from the privileged lifestyle, but has definitely not had it easy. When thieves break into her home, she uses it at her chance to escape and start anew. Only, these boys are tongue tied and decide to "kidnap" her to protect themselves.
Drake, Cruz, Knox and Stone are all from the opposite side of town and come with their own set of problems. They each see Penn differently but can't stop thinking of her all the same, even if it differs from bad to good.
Soon, their relationship turns into something more. Is she tearing them apart or making them better? When the ending comes up in a brutal cliffhanger, not everyone knows what to do. I cannot wait to see how this all unfolds in the next book! I can guarantee Penn is going to come out swinging.
As much as I enjoy RE Bonds writing, I honestly feel like all of her FMC's are the same. They are always total bada$$ women, willing to fight for the greater good, psycho or not (which is totally great)...but it would be great to see something different from her. Thats probably why Jade is still my favorite from her!
I enjoyed this book and can't wait to see what's next.
*Overall 4/5 *Heat? 4/5 *Fast Burn *Multiple first person POV *MMFMM Relationship *Ends on cliffhanger
R. E. Bond has been on my TBR for quite some time, so when the mood finally struck for something different, I decided that a nice duet might be the best place to start. I loved the writing, the plot is rather fast- paced as there are numerous twists and turns, but at the same time the connections that started to form were developing in a rather natural pace.
As I gather, the characters here have appeared in other series, but I was glad that it did not impact on my reading experience. One of the key elements for me is being able to connect to the main characters and the author has offered me a genuinely pleasant FMC, who despite all odds possess strength, integrity and devotion. Penn's need to be connected to others and being cherished is evident and although some may find her a bit naive to put her trust in those who show nothing but disregard to her is precisely the thing that stood out for me. Regardless of all evidence that some may never accept her as part of their crew, Penn's blinding trust is admirable and that makes her an exquisite human specimen.
The story is gripping from the start, with plenty of diverse characters, dangerous challenges and of course vicious betrayals. After the last chapter, I was really empathising with Penn and I hope that she manages to put her feelings on the side and make Stone, Knox, Cruz and Drake grovel at her feet.
Uhm are you guys okay? This book is no messed up. It is a typical Wattpad book. I surely am reading something different then you guys are. Because this book is soo bad. Im sorry
It’s instalove with some of the harem, which I actually enjoy and it’s really sexually free too which I also love! Some of the MMCs and their relationship with the FMC I am very unsure about… Knox is kinda a dick (and I get he’s supposed to be because of past trauma) and Stone is a straight up bully. This one is a 3.5 for me mostly from a couple key scenes I don’t love, but Drake and Cruz are my absolute favs. Off to part two!
**I received an eARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review**
I’m not going to lie, when I first read the description for this book, I was not sure if it would fit my tastes. But I love RE Bond and she has surprised me before, so I dove in despite my misgivings. And I am so SO happy I did! This book was amazing! The characters, the plot, and the romance were so good! I loved every moment of it and this book proved once again that I should never doubt RE!
If you're looking for a story where romance and danger do a dark tangled waltz. This book is for you. This book plunged me into a gritty, emotional world where nothing (and no one) is black and white. Think shadowy deals, high-stakes heists, and more.
At the heart of it all is a beautifully broken heroine,sharp-tongued, strong-willed, and navigating a world that’s done its best to chew her up and spit her out. The reverse harem aspect? Chef’s kiss. Every love interest brings something unique to the table, which is what I love, from a brooding bad boy, to charismatic men who are too charming for their own good. There’s no picking just one, and don't try and make me choose haha 😉
That said, this book does deal with heavy, real-life themes including abuse, trauma, and violence. Please read the trigger warnings before diving in, your emotional well being matters. The author does not shy away from the dark, but they handle it with care and depth, weaving it into the narrative without romanticizing the pain.
What makes this book stand out for me isn’t just the steamy tension (though, yeah, it’s fire 🔥). It’s the way the connection between these characters grow, the healing, and the messy, beautiful journey all these men! It’s not always pretty but it’s raw, real, and impossible to put down. Also who doesn't love when there is tension. :P
If you’re into morally grey everything and love stories that walk on the darker side this is for you.
i hate cliffhangers and i'm so thankful that i owned an omnibus because i could start the next one immediately. this was an okay read and i'm just mostly curious how everything will play out.
also, i'm not sure how to review this so i'll just say what i think of the main characters instead:
* i own an omnibus copy of this duology from fabled.
I read ~70% of this so I’m gonna let it count towards my reading goal, but I’m not going to rate it.
Essentially, I did that thing where I read the synopsis for book 2 before finishing book 1. I know that’s a bad habit but it is what it is.
Anyways, the synopsis had me side-eyeing a bit so I read a couple of reviews and apparently the relationship dynamics go down the drain and one guy (the worst one) becomes the focus. Now I’m willing to overlook less than great characterization, however, in a RH I want the relationships to be equal/balanced. I can have favorite guy as the reader but the female lead should love all the guys equally. Because if she doesn’t why does it need to be reverse harem? She can just be with the one she’s obsessed with and be done with it.
I enjoyed this book so much. I didn’t put it down and could not wait until morning to leave my review. I love Penn. She uses her twisted humor to survive. Though I struggled with Knox there for a little while. Drake and Cruz are my sweethearts in this book. Stone is someone I want to stab in the eye. Not going to lie. This dude made me burn with anger. If you look up selfish a**hole, well his name would be there for everyone to see. Penn has enough to deal with and he just adds more on top of it. I was so not ok with how the book ended. I need so much more and the next book isn’t set to release any time soon. I’ll be going crazy just waiting to see what happens next. Though I do love that characters from another favorite book I read appearing in this one. I didn’t expect that at all.
I’m not going to lie. My chest hurts and my heart is in my stomach from this read. I was expecting something completely different. Not to have my emotions ripped from me and scrambled. How do I survive until the next book is release. I’ll be hunting everything I can down about the Princess Penelope Whitlock until the next book releases. Also maybe a few of the boys. Though one can kick rocks and I wouldn’t loose sleep about it. If you can’t tell, I hate major hate towards Stone. I don’t think anything will change that. Though R.E. Bonds gave me a ringer with this one. I guess anything is possible now.
R.E. Bond has the unique ability to rip your heart out and stomp on it while convincing you that you enjoy it. Her book hangovers are the worst and this one is no exception. Like the Psychos and the Devils before them, The Night Thieves us going to be a wrecking ball of a series! I'm pretty sure that if Penn ever gets to let Drake, Cruz, and Knox in on what Stone has been up to, it will be Stone's actions that rips that family apart. I can't wait for book 2!
This is the first book in RE Bond’s The Night Thieves series. This is a wonderful start to a new series. We originally met these characters in a previous series and we also see a few characters from the Watch Me Burn series. We get multiple POV’s. Stone is a mean SOB and I can’t wait for him to see what Drake, Cruz, and eventually Knox sees.
I had a good idea of what I was getting into for this, and I'd say that it delivered on both plot and spice. Would I call this a trashy dark romance novel? Probably... Did things get resolved a little to easily by the FMC giving everyone "affection"? Yes... But was it still entertaining and hot? For sure.
Curious what happens after that clifhanger. Will def be continuing.
didn't really like it because she was doing 3 dudes, I wanted her to end up with the 1 dude she never got with, though I am going to read the second book for the sake I wanna see how it ends
