When two Amish children are taken by a known killer, will their father break his vow against violence to save their lives?
It’s 1826, and Amish congregations are settling in Ohio. Although they do so despite dangers such as bears, wolves, and cougars, they look forward to building new communities in which to worship.
But there are worse dangers than bears, wolves, and cougars.
When two children are taken by a murderer with a savage past, their father must decide if he can defy his community’s Ordnung and commit violence to save their lives. If not, he knows they will be lost forever—perhaps in death.
Reminiscent of western classics like Lonesome Dove, except with Amish characters, The Easter Prayer delves into an Amish community’s vow against violence, including how their love for family can make them question that vow.
J. Willis Sanders lives in southern Virginia, with his wife, three banjos, three resonator guitars, and one acoustic guitar.
With thirteen novels published and more on the way, he enjoys crafting intriguing characters with equally intriguing conflicts to overcome. He also loves the natural world and, more often than not, his stories include those settings. Most also utilize intense love relationships and layered themes.
His first novel (not this one, but he plans to publish it) is a ghostly World War II era historical that takes place mostly in the mid-western United States, which utilizes some little-known facts about German POW camps there at the time. It's the first of a three-book series, in which characters from the first continue their lives.
Although he loves history, he has written several contemporary novels as well, and some include interesting paranormal twists, both with and without religious themes.
He also loves the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and he has written three novels within different time frames based on the area, what he calls his Outer Banks of North Carolina Series. (Yes, they'll be published too, and he has more idea about the area.)
Other hobbies include reading (of course), vegetable gardening, playing music with friends, and songwriting, some of which are in a few of his novels.
Two Amish children get lost in the wilderness and a man with a bad reputation takes them. They continue to mind their manners and pray for their parents, each other and the man and thank Gott. The Author took a tough and touchy situation that made the adults question the question of their non-violent policy. If you want to find out what happens to the children, please bet this book.
The Easter Prayer: An Amish Easter Prayer by J. Willis Sanders First let me tell you this is not your typical Amish Love Story It’s a story of how that deep love of family, faith and how keeping true to that belief can forever change one’s life. . It’s a story of the power of God’s love, believing in his will and knowing it’s whats best for all. How far will one go to protect their family, how far will one go to revenge ones loss, and can God truly protect everyone in the process? Can someone lay the groundwork to change a broken vengeful heart? This story is a look at how the early days of Amish life was meet with many challenges but none more powerful than one’s own faith and how to live with all the decisions one makes because of their faith. Easter is a time of miracles and this storyline will open your heart to all that is possible. I’ve been a fan of this author for sometime his writing style causes you to dive deep and really think, at the same time he threads in charming characters who will quickly become some of your favorite fictional friends. I was gifted a copy but was not required to leave a review, however in this case I’m so happy to be able to suggest this story of Easter’s Amish Prayer.
What would you do if your children were kidnapped? Would you go against your beliefs to get them back? I know I would do anything that I had to do to get my babies back. This is a very uplifting and inspiring story.
