I love this series so much! The twists and backstory in this one were epic, the romance swoonworthy, and the story pace kept me on my toes throughout. And after that ending, I’m definitely ready to see how this adventure wraps up in book 4!

The Petticoat Pirate is one of my favorite YA series. I love all of the characters, especially Josephine and Nathaniel. Book 3 did not disappoint! This one is packed full of tension, twists, turns, betrayals, love, snark, action and adventure. So much to love!

Each book gets better and better!
I love this series and each book I am astounded at how the author continues to outdo her last endeavor. Needless to say, I am hyped for the next volume!
I would willingly listen, with a sloppy, lovesick grin on my face, to Josephine and Nathaniel converse until the end of time. Their scenes together are always on point. Oliver continues to hold my heart too and his lovely manner of bringing up the obvious is forever a pleasure.
Tempest is such a fun antagonist. I love seeing her motives conflict with her morals but also she never loses that edge that makes her such an intriguing foil.
I have never sailed a ship. But I feel like I am vicariously doing so through this series. I can smell the sea and feel the bob of the waves. It’s such a glorious experience.
The author leaves you at the best of cliffhangers and I can’t wait to see where it goes!

Another great action-packed pirate adventure story!
This third book in the series continues where book 2 left off, and it didn't disappoint-not one bit! The action and mystery deepen in Shattered Souls with the added benefit of romance beginning to blossom and take root.
C.R. Pugh wraps her readers into the exciting tale that continues to spin from one web into another, seamlessly blending both mysticism and history in such an intriguing and admirable way that one simply can't stop reading. I mean, you don't go wrong with pirates, curses, and mythology, now do you?
Josephine and Nathaniel appear to have all sides stacked against them as the climax continues to build to a rolling crescendo. I loved all the elements at play here. This book is a tale within a tale, our heroes are being hunted by unavoidable foes they face time and again, while seeking answers (treasure) of their own. It's every pirate fan's ultimate seafaring adventure but wait...there's more. Not only are they evading witches on the land and sea gods on the open water, there's also a revolutionary conflict that they've been entrenched in from the get-go to. All together, it was a whirlwind of excitement. This book was so involved, well-plotted, and well-paced.
Hats off to this talented author! Boy, she can really spin a thick, and complex page-turner! I will always enjoy reading her work and can't wait for book 4!

This is an incredible read! Swoony romance, action and adventure, humor, friendship, flirty banter… it’s got it all!
I loved the first two books in this series. This third installment blows them out of the water. Josephine and Nathaniel are so good together! Their banter, their affectionate gestures, their chemistry, is phenomenal!
Oliver… oh, Oliver. Quite an emotional journey I won’t spoil here, but I love this strong character!
The adventure in this volume is intense. We learn a lot about Josephine's past and several characters' motivations. Such interesting developments! I need to know the rest!
I am very eagerly awaiting the next book in this gripping series!

I am always excited to take to the open seas again with Josephine and her crew! Treachery. Betrayal. Traitors. Romance simmering among the waves. Josephine and Nathaniel are… sigh. I soooo ship their romance, and also love the detailed level of plotting and world building that has gone into this series. Were cats! Pirate hunters! Witches and gods of the sea! The American revolution heating up and dangerous new weapons potentially falling into the wrong hands. There was so much going on here to devour on every page and author CR Pugh wove yet another delightful installment in this high seas romantasy adventure for young adult readers. I can’t wait for book 4! 5/5 stars.

Fantastic! In anticipation of the release of the 4th and final book in the Petticoat Pirate series, I decided to reread the first three books to remind me of all that had gone before! I just love this series! So different from what I usually read, but Ms. Pugh has introduced me to a new genre that I really enjoy! Congratulations on a wonderful entertaining book and series.

A fun continuation
I have enjoyed each book in this series. I was impressed by the continuous tempo of adventure throughout the novel. Jo barely catches her breath before another crisis threatens her and the crew. Fun all around.

Such a great read with unexpected twists and turns, action and romance! Couldn’t put it down! Already impatient for book four!!
