In the aftermath of The Swarm’s relentless assault, and the brief but bloody civil war, Anderson and the other survivors must find a way to secure their future in their new home.
With tensions running high and the ever-present threat of the next moon phase, a plan is devised to take them to the source of the danger.
To Europe.
To ECHO site.
But their journey is fraught with danger, and along the way they discover that nature has not been as dormant as first believed. Life outside the safety of their camp poses more of a risk than anyone could have imagined, threatening their survival and risking everything they have built so far.
Devon is from the UK, having lived in many places until finally settling in the Midlands. His career in public services started in his teens and has provided a wealth of experiences, both good and some very bad, which form the basis of the book ideas that cause regular insomnia.
He first started reading for fun as an adult, having tried his hardest to avoid anything resembling academia growing up, and at that point the world became a far bigger place. He has been reading, at least one book at a time, ever since.
His debut works, the After It Happened series, (Survival, Humanity, Society) were published in April 2016 followed by Hope (July 2016) and Sanctuary (December 2016). The first part of the series concluded with the release of Rebellion which was published in June 2017.
Storming high into the charts with the first books of the After It Happened series, Devon launched into the top 10 sellers listings in the UK, Australia, Canada and the US, and he made the decision to write full time shortly after the launch of Hope.
Devon’s self-published beginnings caused a stir in the publishing world, and resulted in contracts with Podium Publishing for Audible, narrated by R.C. Bray (The Martian, Expeditionary Force, Arisen), before a publishing deal for kindle and paperbacks with Vulpine Press.
Further works have seen the start of a multi-author series, sci-fi/post-apocalyptic cross genre, futuristic dystopian and alternative history zombie apocalypse. Spin-off books from the After It Happened world have been announced for 2018.
This series is really blowing up 🔥 Im really digging the progression of this series. We go from prepairing for the apocalypse, coming back to earth a millennia later and getting their bearings, to fighting in a tribal war amonst swarms of monstery creatures and now we're traveling across jungle terrain amidst ape like monsters to get to the other fallout facility to gather the information that may be left there. Thats some solid plot progression over 3 books. Each issue is satisfactorily resolved while yet another problem pops up. This is how storys are supposed to be written. Not milk the same bs evil villain for an entire saga. Deal with problems as they arise so we can feel like we are moving forwards and progressing instead of staying stagnant. This book was the best one yet in my opinion. By this point we're really close to the characters and are more invested in whats happening and the plot definitely starts to thicken towards the end of this book🫨 worth ever penny. I really hope they continue to make these and put them on audible. Im guna be suggesting this around in hopes to get a bigger following to support the authors so they can continue. I really wana see where this goes next!
Non stop action. Great world-building. The co-authors are getting better with their spelling and grammar. 🙄 I could not dout it down. A thousand years after the implosion of earth by gigantic asteroid leaves those thats slept in cryogenic chambers--900 years after they were supposed to wake up--meeting the descendants of "survivors", the new world they find themselves in and the new threats that greet them. This book is a must read and I cannot wait for the next one.
Trouble abounds for the small group of survivors trying to establish a New Earth at the African site. Now, however, there is a need to travel to the failed European facility for more information that can aid their community's growth and to answer numerous questions about the cause of the destruction of that site. There will be loses and gains on this dangerous expedition. It's hard to say which outweighs the other. In the end, humans behave as they always have, some find the strength to perform selfless, heroic acts and others only think about power and selfish greed. I found the ending sad.
A billionaire manages to organize 3 sites for hundreds of people to occupy when the asteroid hits Earth. This trilogy tells the stories of the sites by focusing on the team that woke from cryosleep many centuries after the asteroid hit. Fast moving action and adventure.
The story premise is ok, but not well told. Kind of wonder s around, grabbing at contrived unsupported and unbelievable contraptions. I read the first three books hoping for it together better, and like I said, I like the premise, just not the delivery.
Imagine finding out that Earth was going to die, but there is a chance a small part of humanity will survive. Now imagine that it doesn't all go to plan and what we will have to face.
Slow plot development, but not filled with irrelevant information. Side plots entertaining, which is the point of any story. I am waiting for the next installment.
Enjoyed the story. Was more interested in some parts than others. I thought the series was over but the epilogue indicates there will be more to come. Excellent narration.
