With the help of the Jamils and volunteers throughout the city, Ryoma’s ventures in city management and defense come to full fruition to combat the sinister forces plotting to bring down Gimul. The conflict reaches its boiling point as fires and violent attacks break out all over the city! Ryoma jumps into action, coordinating with each department of his enterprise, but then discovers that his enemies are after him personally... Now Ryoma must fight to protect the city of Gimul and all the friends he’s gained in this fantasy world.
The climax of the troubles brewing in Gimul comes to a head in this entry, and it was as exciting and thrilling as I expected it to be. Of course nothing can bring our boy Ryoma down, but it was refreshing to know that even he, in the face of danger, can have doubts and moments of reflections come his way.
The gimul arc wraps up in this volume as we see ryoma spring into slime-powered action to save the city. Fans of the series, we realize that some beloved characters haven't been seen in a while and this volume won't really change that. But its a great addition to the series nonetheless!
I really wish there were more of these… I’m sure Roy will be working on them hard. I’m glad that there was a good number of pages this time in this book. The storyline was interesting and the endless soap opera continues. Can’t wait to see what happens next
I am in love/obsessed with this series and I cannot wait to see what happens next!! Need more. Ryoma is growing up and inventing more. Can't wait for his trip into the forest to reclaim his legacy.
I enjoyed this volume. The attack on the city was enormous. Thankfully Ryoma was prepared for the attacks. I'm glad he has decided on what he wants. The gods are keeping an eye on him too.
This author never disappoints! All the bubbling tensions in Gimul have finally gushed to the surface and exploded in several spectacular explosions. As always Ryoma is on top of everything and rushing everywhere and everyone to protect the city.
This was really a go-go-go volume. With emergency after emergency happening, there was barely any breathing room for the reader let alone Ryoma, to rest. It was a perfect climax to the "hidden forces against the Jamils" conflict.
There's a character in the book that refers to Ryoma as the "secret boss" and this volume really showcased that. He's practically the mayor of the town. It's really amazing how he manages to build defense, rescue, and emergency systems similar to his previous world using the common sense of his current world. Of course, magic and his slimes play a huge part in the new structures. Those never get old.
This arc came to a clean and timely close. I don't think we'll be seeing those villains again which is great because it opens up the story for more arcs. Hints about his future journey to his (fictional) grandparents homeland are getting more pointed so we can probably expect more adventuring arcs in the future. Whatever it may be, I can't wait!
Things finally and truly come to a boiling point in Gimul. Ryoma’s city management, magic item development and the adventuring skills of himself and his slimes are tested to the full, providing some food for Ryoma's thoughts as well. What follows is a light hearted slice-of-life story with a bit more action than previous volumes. It is an entertaining read, with some decent character development, even if the world is fairly standard and the protagonist is never really threatened. The switch between everyday life in the snow and the action was rather abrupt though, which made it feel a bit disjointed for the series. All in all, a good quick read and a decent ending to the arc of the previous volumes.
By the end of this book, Ryoma seems to have reached a place of understanding about who he is and what he can do, and an acceptance of it. I think it enabled him to fight without holding back against the attackers at the mine and gave him confidence as he fought.
At some points in the book, he’s so overpowered that it’s a little boring sometimes, but I still enjoy seeing how he overcomes difficulties. It’s also a relief that the nobles who were attacking the duke have now been apprehended. The next arc of the storyline should be interesting.

Whoever translated the past few volumes needs to read the series from the beginning. The names are changing, the pronouns keeps changing. Aside from that, I'm glad things are finally settled down. I'm exited for the new arc though I'm a little sad that I caught up to this volume. I hope the author talks about the financial gains of Ryoma bc I can't stand the idea of him losing money bc of the goodness of his heart. I need to see he is actually gaining something from all his efforts.
After all of the buildup, the nobles backing the criminals in Gimul make their move. Ryoma is more than ready, though. Thanks to his efforts, Ryoma becomes the Jamil family’s engineer or technician.
