An explosive secret threatens everything she thought she knew.

Dr Chrissy Ferguson, a Forensic Psychologist plagued by a troubled mind, returns to her childhood home in the Scottish Highlands to bring closure to the wreckage of her life. But when the mutilated body of a missing local woman is found drained of blood and discarded like trash, any chance she has of fixing herself seems far away.

Memories buried deep within the tight-knit community of Kinloch Rannoch begin to stir and Chrissy realises she may hold the key to unlocking the killer's identity. Now she must convince DCI Ross Fraser, the fastidious detective leading the investigation, that she is not a suspect, but rather an essential part of the investigation.

Sparks fly between Chrissy and Ross as they work together to find a master manipulator with a deadly obsession that has left a trail of bodies across two decades.

Can Chrissy confront her past and uncover the secrets hidden in her head before it’s too late?

Gripping, unpredictable, and utterly compelling, The Killing Shed is a must-read for fans of Scottish crime fiction and anyone who loves a twisty, immersive mystery that will keep you guessing until the very end. If you like LJ Ross, Simon McCleave, JD Kirk, TG Reid, and Elly Griffiths, you won’t want to miss this unforgettable debut.

I had to DNF this one. I couldn't get last the writing style to enjoy the story, which in itself was tough to stay interested in. Extremely slow-paced for a thriller. I felt like I was reading someone's weird diary rather than a book. And not in a good way.

Fantastic read

Just finished The Killing Shed and about to start Cargill’s Leap. If the second book is anything like the first, I won’t be putting it down till I’m finished it. It is very well written and had me captivated till the end…….which I got wrong twice. Looking forward to reading more books from this exciting new author.

Highland Secrets ~ 🤓

I stepped out of my comfort zone and into the Scottish Highlands with The Killing Shed, the first Chrissy Ferguson Mystery. This gripping tale follows Dr. Chrissy Ferguson as she confronts her dark past and becomes entangled in a murder investigation. Alongside DCI Ross Fraser, Chrissy navigates the treacherous landscape of her hometown, Kinloch Rannoch.
With its complex web of secrets and surprising twists, this book had me holding on tight. The author artfully weaves together the threads of Chrissy's past and the murder mystery, keeping me on the edge of my seat. I will definitely be checking out the next book 🤓

Compelling read.

I hesitated to read this. I thought it was going to be another "psychic heroine saves the day book." It was much more compelling than that, although I suspected the killer's identity early on. I thr changed my mind and thought it couldn't possibly be him. Good read.

Easy to read. A relaxed writing style.
A few plot points that didn’t quite make sense and seemed to be rectified as an afterthought: Ross baking yet living in a hotel whilst deployed to solve the crime, only to find he’d been allowed to use the barmaids kitchen 🤷🏼‍♀️
Slow to get going, some questionable twists in the tale which went from sublime to ridiculous but enjoyable nonetheless!

Excellent writing! This book kept me on my toes with the twists and turns. It kept me interested from cover to cover. I'm usually pretty good at figuring out who the bad guy is, but this time I got fooled.
I'm just starting the next book now.

Small towns hide their secrets well

The idea of having to relive your traumatic experiences to move forward somehow seems to be harder for Chrissy especially since she doesn’t know all the details. Good read page turner.

A great read

What an entertaining read. I would highly recommend to anyone who likes a murder/mystery. I found it to be a page-turner. Chrissy, the main character, is full of flaws which makes her appealing. She is far from perfect ! Looking forward to the next book.

Murder with a touch of paranormal

I love a mystery where one is kept guessing. Add to that, a hint of a haunting and a touch of romance and I'll be looking for book 2.

Not as GORY as some reviews I've seen. Just a weird read and a bit farfetched. Have no interest to continue the series.
