I can't praise this book enough. I found this piece of gem in a library and it's one of the best informative and interesting books I have read so far. This book kind of acts as a documentary of the nomads of Hungrary,Bulgaria etc. Though the book is full of information- history of these gypsies, their lifestyle, their culture etc. it never seems boring. There are also personal narratives of the gypsies. They talk about their dreams, the struggles-the hardship to go through. Bonus part is the colourful pictures. There's even a local lullaby added in the end.
An excellent little volume with historical background and interviews with a variety of Rom. Sure, it's a bit dated being published in 1993, but the things the Rom say still ring true today.
