Wasn't as great as book #4 but still considered a good and enjoyable storyline with moments of fighting with other werewolf clan for superiority status etc. etc. --- and the chaos of having a commitment ceremony between two alphas and the inclusion of many other werewolves from other places/states.

The new pack found themselves embroiled in a turf war in an unregistered pack/cult. Lots of exciting things happened in book 5 which sated me. I’m still waiting for the couple I’m shipping to get together!!! I’m hoping the last book holds the answer.

Another excellent episode from the Jade Stone Chronicles
A new job, new pack members, and new trouble from an old flame. Jade has her work cut out for her in this fifth installment of the Jade Stone Chronicles. A fun story full of heartwarming friendship, healthy familial bonds, humorous scenarios, loveable characters, and surprising twists we've come to expect from author Huckleberry Rahr. A great read for those who love reading tales of werewolves and shifters but want a story without graphic violence where the focus is not on a romance but on the importance of friendship and family with a slice of life bent. That is not to say the story is tame; there's plenty of excitement to go around! The evil Dynasty is still out there, ready to make their next move...
And a Battlefield is just around the corner.

Jade and her friends are stoked to have new members joining their pack but they are still threatened by rival wolves in the penultimate installment of the "Jade Stone Chronicles."
Now that the new Were House is set up in California, the newly formed pack is ready to open its doors to new members. With school out for the summer, Jade finds herself with a ton of free time on her hands and she decides to take a job with the government. Things don’t go quite as she expected, and Jade finds herself dealing with a new flight risk. And the San Mateo Dynasty continues to be a problem for their pack. Is it too simple to ask for a laidback summer vacation?
I’ve been reading one of these books for the last few months and it’s crazy to think that this series will soon be coming to an end. Thank you so much to Huckleberry Rahr for the gifted audiobooks of this series!
For some reason, I didn’t find myself as engaged with the plot in this one. It was nice that the major conflict wasn’t them dealing with another rogue wolf, but I thought the whole government operation that Jade goes to work for was a tad odd and that the San Mateo Dynasty just sort of lurked menacingly in the sidelines without doing much. Yes, I can assume that the final book will bring these things into finer focus, but in this one, I just found it a tad odd.
I did love seeing Jade’s friends welcome new werewolves into their pack. Seeing their newly formed pack transform into a bustling den filled with life was super fun. Meeting all the new faces was one of the most entertaining parts of this book, but it did get to be a little much at times.
Some of the things that go down in this one also had me scratching my head a bit. Like, what happened to Greta? And what was up with the whole government doing experiments with swan shifters? Anyway, everything worked out in the end I guess, but I’m interested to see how these subplots will play out in the rest of this series.
The wedding was definitely my favorite part of this one! Seeing all that gay love in action was so sweet, and it was great having a big family reunion with all the characters we left behind in Wisconsin. Despite the jovial atmosphere, things unfortunately do take a turn for the worst and it appears war is brewing for the final installment of this series.
Overall, I didn’t enjoy “Pack” as much as I did previous installments in this series mostly because I found much of the incidents that were going on to be a tad far-fetched, even for a fantasy involving werewolves. I did love to see the pack expanding as well as our alphas uniting in holy matrimony though. I’m curious to see how Jade’s powers will turn the tides in the war that is brewing and how exactly this series comes to an end in the final book!
Audiobook Note: Andrea Kummer’s voice has become so familiar and comforting to me at this point. I rarely read a series all the way through on audio like I did this one, so it’s been fun hearing the same voice month after month. I’m going to miss hearing them next year when I run out of “Jade Stone” books to read.

Book 5 of the Jade Stone Chronicles. Things keep happening to her, and I'm not sure how she will end. She is still fighting the crazy group of wolves that live near their territory and insists on fighting Jade's pack, thinking they are better and worthy, even if their ways are sexist and antiquated. All while Jade is dealing with her ex-girlfriends. On top of that, the Pack is growing, and Jade gets involved with the government, which only adds craziness to her life. She started with crazy powers as an Epsilon wolf, then we added the cat, and now another element that makes her even crazier.
The part about the government was kind of weird. Most of the time, in this kind of book, having the government involved is dangerous and ends up with the characters trapped or/and used by them. In this case, it's all very civilized, which was kind of strange. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Also, the joke that they have to handle Jade because she is incapable of doing it herself it's getting old, even if it's true. I mean, when is she going to learn her limitations? It's cool that she keeps getting powers, but her growth as a person is not going the same way as her powers.
The book is easy to read, and the world they are building is great. I love the series and will keep reading it to see how many more powers Jade can pick up.

Book 5 in the series! You follow jade in a new job and new adventures! Great fast pace read! 10/10 recommended

This one is one of my favorites in the series, even with the issues that they had to face, it all worked out. The Wedding of the century and all the other wonderful things that happened in this book, and I am sure some future wonderous things that might come from it if you read between the lines.
Jade started working for the government and that brought its own events in her life and the lives of the pack.
