Bowing: A Moving Meditation for Personal Transformation

Rate this book
Bowing is the most beautiful of human activities, representing all of life in its most poetic form. It is also one of the best exercises. The simple, repetitive motion uses every major joint and muscle in your body, pumps your heart, and makes you sweat. Used by Asian cultures for centuries, this moving meditation strengthens your body, mind, and spirit.

A Moving Meditation for Personal Transformation brings this ancient meditative practice into modern times with step-by-step instructions and illustrations. Let this inspiring book show you how to build strength, cultivate humility, and embrace oneness through the simple act of bowing. After only a few weeks of practice, you will enjoy greater vitality, profound centeredness, and an uplifted spirit.

Like other forms of meditation, bowing helps you develop discipline and a focused, centered mind. It is more grounding than traditional forms of sitting meditation, because it also requires flowing movement and physical strength. This movement gets the body's energy flowing and naturally brings up joy and gratitude for your physical being. Bowing is also a great way to start and end your day, because it helps you more easily process your goals and tasks, as well as the daily events you encounter.

This guide takes you through the entire process of bowing, step-by-step, with many illustrations. It will help you understand this ancient discipline and how practicing it can have profound impacts on your life. Whether you are looking for an integrated body mind spirit workout or a deep spiritual discipline, this book is all that you need to start bowing today.

Graceful moving meditation

Beautiful simple book . Expresses a deeper meaning to the bowing practice while connecting deeper inside yourself. Connects you to heaven and Earth to show our link to both.

A clear, if short, treatise on the practise of bowing for self-transformation. I was challenged to begin a bowing practise in preparation for a upcoming training I will be participating in. This book gives you all you need to begin, and advance. The book also includes information of the spiritual meaning of each pose or movement within the entire bow, which I found interesting and meaningful. The illustrations are good, though I would have liked one more in the sequence showing the rising from the bottom of the full bow.

I am so happy I came across this little book!

Last year I decided to set upon a path of happiness. I, finally, became sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I looked around me. Looked at my immediate family - lots of unhappiness and strife, then looked up my extended family, and friends, and their families, and it finally became crystal clear to me.

The happiest amongst them were not rich, nor overtly healthy, nor perfect, what they were was grateful. Everyday. All the time. Even at times of hardship and sadness. Grateful for their differently behaving friends, grateful for their children even when the kids choose differently then them.

Most, not all, were also Christians, but what amazed me was that those religious that chose to get all worked up about "others" and their lifestyles (sexual, race, other religion, non-religion, poor, rich, whatever), were NOT truly happy and only paid lip service to the lesson. But if watched, and listened to, their misery would soon come out and flow across others.

Gratefulness. This book, this act, this movement and focus, for me, is ALL about living the gratefulness I am striving to exist within at all times.

I gather heaven within, I send it to the earth, I allow it to flow through me, and then I send it out, magnified, concentrated, pure to all.

I truly love this book!
