When Karma Jolley spots the man of her dreams, she sets in motion to have him. The fact that he's married really isn't a factor at all. What Karma wants, Karma gets, even if she has to get blood on her hands. Never since the beginning of time has anyone had to deal with so much trash, all brought by The CleanUp Woman.

Although very predictable, this book was very entertaining. At times I felt bad for Cole (Colby) but most of the times I thought he was so stupid. Karma was a crazy bitch, no pun intended. From the beginning I knew she was a nut bag and what she did to her parents confirmed it. She made such sloppy mistakes, she was lucky Cole was so stupid or she would have been caught a long time before the ending.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a story with plenty of twists and turns.
On the night of their wedding anniversary a fatal tragedy occurs. Leaving Colby Patterson a widower and single father.
When Colby meets the young and beautiful Karma Jolly, he thinks she may be a Godsend. Passing out flyers in hope of employment, Karma offers such services from cleaning the house to babysitting. Colby shortly hires her for her services and day to day things slowly begin to become easier for Colby and the children.
What Karma wants more than anything is Mr. Colby Patterson. What Karma wants…Karma gets! She will not let anything or anyone stand in her way. Wherever Karma goes, chaos and drama are sure to follow.
The question is: Is Karma really a Godsend or the devil incarnate?
THE CLEANUP WOMAN by Alisha Yvonne is a story of sex, lust, lies and murder. THE CLEANUP WOMAN was a page-turner but I found it to be somewhat predictable. It took a minute for the drama to unfold, but it had all the makings of a true lifetime movie. The author leaves the reader with a cliffhanger. I see a sequel!
What a great read! Karma was some kind of kook! Now that family will have to continue looking over their shoulders! I see a part two and three! Getting ready to read them back to back!
It’s difficult to sit back and read a book when I’m writing all the time, but I do it when I can. I’ll read articles, blog posts and books for about an hour and half and then get back to my writing.
Well, The CleanUp Woman by Alisha Yvonne kept my eyes glued to my e-reader for more than the allotted time. In short, this book was difficult to put down.
I will admit, it’s incredibly predictable. I’ve seen the movie several times with different characters, different scenes and different titles. You know the tale. There’s a woman who seems sane, when in reality she’s not. She becomes obsessed with a man, sometimes woman, and then her true colors come out. She goes out of her way to have him, whether he wants her or not. This woman, who is severely touched in the head, will remove anyone from his life that interferes with the relationship she has constructed in her mind.
In this book, Karma Jolley was the seemingly sane woman, but she was the star pupil in that class. You know the class. Crazy and effin’ insane 101.
Now, just because I knew what was going to happen before it happened didn’t make the read any less enjoyable.
*SPOILER ALERT!*
I couldn’t help but feel sorry for poor Colby “Cole”. It seemed like this guy couldn’t catch a break. First, his wife repeatedly accused him of being unfaithful, when he was nothing but true to her and their marriage. Then, he lost his wife when a couple of thugs pulled up on them and shot her in cold blood. Afterwards, he became the number one suspect of the crime. It’s always the husband, right?
This tragedy turned his life upside down. He loved his wife dearly, so it was difficult to move on without her.
Cole and his wife had 2 children. He worked a demanding job, and needed help with them. So, he hired Karma Jolley.
Mind you, he hired her without checking her background or getting referrals. That’s when I stopped feeling sorry for Cole. I found myself talking to the e-reader, which earned me an arched brow from my husband. “Seriously, dude? You couldn’t take a moment out of your busy day to check that woman’s credentials before leaving her alone with your children?” That was a bonehead move if I ever seen one, but there wouldn’t have been a story worth reading if he did what he was supposed to do.
Slowly, but surely Karma charmed her way into his and his kids’ lives. The girl had all the gifts of a perfect homemaker. She could cook, she could clean and she was good with the children. She made Cole’s life much easier, which was her plan. She wanted Cole to see her as a wife replacement. Although, he thought she was beautiful and appreciated all the help she’d given him with the kids, he couldn’t get over his wife. Understandable. But not to Karma.
And that’s when the crazy came out.
There were so many times I wanted to choke Cole, but not as many times as I wanted to choke Karma. I became emotionally involved in this story, which doesn’t happen very often. Like I said, I knew what was going to happen, but it still got to me.
Even though, she was indeed crazy, she was very smart and resourceful.
Throughout the story, anyone that came in between she and Cole were either hurt or killed. This girl was determined and she didn’t care who she had to eliminate to get “Cole”, which made this an exciting read.
Now the only part that threw me off was the ending.
Cole’s demeanor didn’t quite fit the scene, considering everything that had happened to him. Sure, he was irritated, but I’d image anyone in this situation would not only be enraged, but vengeful as well. I’m almost sure the person wouldn’t strike up a conversation with a woman who not only had their spouse murdered, she almost killed their son, slaughtered her dog and left him in their house for their kids to see, AND she killed their best friend. It wouldn’t matter how touched in the head she is. As soon as she called their house, she’d either get cursed the hell out to the tenth degree or served up a dial tone.
To add insult to injury, she went back to his house, after she’d done all this! The only thing he did was threaten her. OMG, what? She’s in arm’s reach on his property and he just threatens her? Sorry, there isn’t that much self-control in the world.
*chuckle* All that aside, this was an entertaining read and I’m glad I scooped it up.
First let me state that it was truly a pleasure getting inside of this book. I say inside because this story was so intriguing to the point where it had me on the edge of my seat screaming at the characters. Yes this book pulled me in from the very beginning and when it got to the end I was mad it was over I just wanted it to go on and on. Karma Jolley a.k.a the clean up woman was a beautiful , charming, and sincere twenty something year old. That is until someone stood in the way of what she wanted then she could become a devious, evil, deranged straight up killer. This time she wanted forty year old recently widowed father of two, chocolate hunk Colby Patterson. She entered his life at a time when he was still trying to cope with his wife's murder and being left alone to raise two kids by his self, so it wasn't an coincidence that she stalked the restaurant where he held business meetings twice a week. She finally made her move by handing him one of her pretend business flyer's "The Jolley Cleanup Woman." And that's just what she became to Colby someone to helped around his house by doing the cooking, cleaning the laundry and picking up his kids from school. Yes karma turned out to be a godsend the kids loved her and even Cole as Colby likes to be called in this book was growing very fawn of her, he could not have asked for a better nanny/housekeeper. But Oh-Oh in comes Audrie a sexy sister who works with Cole and also has her eye on him now the real Karma comes out. Karma the devious one that tries to seduce Cole thinking that her sex could win him over and Karma the evil deranged one that made Cole's son have a terrible allergic reaction to something she knew he was allergic too just to try to make Cole see how much he needed her in his life. Lastly the killer Karma who kills Cole's best-friend because he had discovered that she was responsible for killing her very own parents... I could go on and on about this story but I would rather you support this author and buy the book. The storyline was great it was the best fatal attraction book I've read in a while, the author stayed within the plot and the characters were very strong and believable.
Now you know what time it is..... That's right Q&A baby.... Would I recommend this book to my readers? Yes Please buy this book How would I rate this book on a scale of 1-10? I would say a 8 Would I buy any other books from this author based off this one? Yes I would
Karma Jolley is a woman who knows what she wants and goes after it by any means necessary. From the outside Karma Jolley seems to have it together, she is young smart and very beautiful which makes her hard to resist to any man looking her way. When Karma sets her eyes on a man she knows she will not stop until he is hers, it doesnt matter that the man she has her eyes on is already married with a family. Again what Karma wants Karma gets even if things have to get messy for her to get what she wants, nothing and no one will get in her way once her mind is made up about something.
Karma Jolley is a mess! She is the true definition of psycho. At first it seems like she just has a little attraction to Cole, but then when she starts to show her true colors. Cole is the married man that she has her eyes on. Cole is very naive to be as old as he is. To me he doesnt do the proper things to ensure his family will be safe, he lets the fact that he needs help override his common sense. Karma is nothing to play with and though she seems lke she is just a young innocent girl she is everything but that. She is missing some marbles clearly. I felt bad for Cole and his family because the things Ms. Karma does to him will leave anyone upset. Will Cole realize what hes dealing with when it comes to Karma or will it be too late? I will be starting part 2.
Karma Jolley is a young woman who knows what she wants and will do anything to get it. She has her heart set on being with Colby and nothing is going to get in her way of getting her man. I don't want to give too much of the story away but let me say this...there are secrets from Karma's past that will reveal why she is the way that she is, there are moments that you will be shaking your head and moments that you will be ready to kill Karma yourself! The author did a great job of pulling me into the story from the very beginning and not making me want to put it down until I was finished. There were times where I was irritated by how gullible Colby (Cole) was being but the reality is there are men out there that fall for a big butt and a smile and Karma was definitely Poison! If you are looking for a quick, well written, sexy and dramatic novel. Then you should go ahead and one click this book today.
I'm reading this book on Kindle. I'm about 27% complete, and all I know is I cannot stand Karma. Surely, Cole cannot be that clueless. Hopefully, he wises up quickly or else this story is going to be hard for me to stomach.
Okay,so I completed the book, and I am more confused than ever. By the end of the book,I felt like Cole needed to be confined to crazy house as well. How was it possible for him to overlook/ignore so many of the signs that Karma displayed? After his wife's murder you'd think that he would be extremely overprotective of his children and not allow just anyone around them. I have no words for Karma and her behavior. She's simply unacceptable. I must say that the book's ending really surprised me.
Cleanup Woman is a fun yet realistic story of woman with ODC for Cole, hot sex and dialogue you can actually hear and relate to. The story elements of the Cleanup Woman were funny and others sad. Everyone in the neighborhood knows a Cleanup Woman is not the one to be toyed with. I heard the song Clean Up Woman by Betty Wright playing in the background of my mind as I consumed this tale. Thanks for the entertainment/distraction from the stressful world we live in. I can't wait to share this with a few Divas at work. :-) Will read book two soon. Keep writing.
A very straight forward read which allowed me not to think for a couple hours, which was exactly what I wanted.
Basic overview - crazy woman wants man, she does what ever she has to get him (and by whatever you can guess).
A very average book, but was "okay" if you want to just blow through something quickly.
Oh yeah, this book was free on amazon a couple weeks back, that's how I stumbled across it. And of course my motto is: if it's free, it's for me and I'll take THREE!
This was a pretty good read although I felt like the story was never going to end, it seemed to start to drag on a bit for me as it neared the end. It was very entertaining but I am not in a rush to read part 2.
This was a very well written novel. Enjoyed the characters especially the crazy and deranged Karma Jolley. It was truly amazing how Cole was so gullible and easy to deceived. This was a page turner from the beginning to the end, with plenty of drama. Can't wait to read "The Clean Up Woman 2"
this was a OK read for me it had it crazy stalker girl moments but i was just a little disappointed in Colby(Cole),What i did like is the flow of the storyline,Even with there being a book 2 there is no need for me to read it I like the way the story ended.
just finished reading The cleanup woman. And all I can say was wow!!..Karma was a real piece of work straight CRAZY!.To me colby (cole) was a fool took him to long to realize she was mentality disturb. The ending was unexpected About to start part 2 now!!
omg I finished this book in 1 day! Karma was a complete nut and I was getting annoyed at Colby for not seeing it. I definitely have to read part 2 to see what craziness Karma is gonna do next
Well... let's be honest. it is about as predictable as a hood story can get. However, points are given for drama and a story that flows. It's far from perfect but compared to other books set in Memphis... I'll take it.
