When Detective Jacinta Perez calls on retired Marine, Shane Ryan, to look into a bizarre series of deaths, the ghost hunter quickly confirms a supernatural connection to the crimes. Lost souls call out to him, all clamoring for justice to be served.
But when Shane’s investigation leads him to a body hidden in the woods, he suddenly finds himself a suspect in the crimes. Framed for murder and with Jacinta getting kidnapped, Shane must use all the help he could get to destroy supernatural evil, once and for all.
Will he succeed in stopping the murders?
Or is it only the beginning of his terrifying journey to hell?
Climb aboard this nonstop thrill ride from accomplished horrormeisters Ian Fortey and Shane Ryan. Former Marine, cynical "tough guy" Shane Ryan of New Hampshire is once again pulled in to a quest not his own, this one not even occurring in his native New England, but hundreds of miles across the Canadian border, along the notoriously infamous 401 Highway. Shane's close friend, Detroit Homicide Detective Jacinta Perez, summons Shane's input on a bizarre, escalating, series of murders of Michigan residents, all near 401. Worryingly, not all the killers are alive; and Shane's lifelong ability to see and interact with Ghosts is crucial to prevent further fatalities.
Violent, gory, breathlessly Suspenseful; I can't wait to read the next in this new Series!
This new series from Scare Street combines two of my favorite genres - horror and crime stories - into one terrific story. Even better, Shane Ryan is the hero. He gets kicked around pretty good here. It's a wonder he survives, but Shane is about as indestructible as any mortal should be. People are being killed in a particularly gruesome manner along Highway 401 in Ontario. Detective Juanita Perez is called on to investigate because the latest victims were from Michigan. Ontario Provincial Police suspect a serial killer but Juanita has other suspicions and contacts Shane. The rest makes for an outstanding read. And if you think the main part of the book rocks, wait until you read the epilogue. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
The start of another fabulous Shane Ryan adventure.
Shane Ryan continues his crazy life in this new series which promises to be everything we fans want and expect.
A cop serial killer is targeted by a victim seeking revenge for his own death but evolves beyond insanity on a killing spree that spares no one. Then just when you think everything has been sorted and finished and that Shane cannot possibly take anymore beatings (we fans know better!) A crime scene cleaner does a 'silly thing'..............cue the next book.
Highly recommended for all Ron Ripley fans, he never fails to deliver!!!!!
Shane Ryan is back with an all new adventure!! Get ready to cruise the backroads of Canada, with a serial killer on the loose. The question is - how many serial killers are there? Is it one, two, or more?
Shane is called in by Detective Perez, and while she doesn't share with the other officers what he is doing, he investigates the deaths behind the scenes. Drawing on some of the ghosts in the area, Shane is able to track down the killer - and this one will leave you breathless!
Dive into another action-packed drama with Shane and a new cohort of ghostly menaces.
Another triumph by Ron Ripley the premiere author in the Scare Street stable , though Ian Tierney is in the same stable he is in a much lower class and adds little to characters already established in previous novels in a different series. That being said this is a good novel the action moves along at pace as usual and I shall be purchasing the second of the trilogy in the near future , though this can be read as a standalone it does lead the reader onward .
I really do like reading about Shane this man has secrets yet to be uncovered. He sees ghosts and talks to ghost. Very little about his past is yet to be uncovered. Imagine a cop serial killer.Good detective work.
I love all the books with Shane in them. I’m amazed at how quickly the authors can push out these books. I’m not complaining, it ensures I always have a good read waiting for me.
The plotting is excellent in this story dealing with a road known for serial killers and missing people. The question is not just who the killer or killers are, but are the among the living or the dead?
