I’m trapped on the wrong side of the wall, persecuted for being para.
All I want is to sleep.
Every day, new tech is being developed to hunt us down, new scanners are invading our homes so we can’t hide, and the PPE are getting closer to arresting, killing, or experimenting on us.
I’m a seer who bonded with a tarot deck. I see connections simple visions would miss. I see intentions people would rather I didn’t. I see through masks and deception and desperation. Everyone I know wants to use me to get what they want.
Including one man who hunts me to shape a future no one wants. He’s a shapeshifting siren who could be anyone, anywhere, and he can change a mind with a whisper. He’s using the seers he’s trapped to stay one step ahead of me. There’s nowhere to hide and I’m running out of time.
If you love the idea of interacting with your tarot deck, incredible action-packed scenes, and amazing characters who leap off the page at you, then you really need to read this book!
F.J. Blooding lives in hard-as-nails Alaska growing grey hair in the midnight sun with Shane, her writing partner and husband, his two part-time kids, his BrotherTwin, SistaWitch, TeenMan, and SnarkGirl, along with a small menagerie of animals which includes several cats, an army of chickens, a rabbit or two, but only one dog.
She enjoys writing and creating with her wonderful husband and dreaming about sleeping. She's dated vampires, werewolves, sorcerers, weapons smugglers, U.S. Government assassins, and slingshot terrorists. No. She is not kidding. She even married one of them.

I was so engrossed and captivated by this story/the writing, that I lost track of time. Because of that, I clocked back into work late from lunch =D There is action, intrigue and complicated family dynamics. October is a fascinating character. I hope she's in other books in the Whiskey Witches series, because I want to know it all! The world in which it takes place, is tangible; the emotions the characters go through, we definitely feel. Whatever FJ Blooding writes, I will be there to read it. I whole heartedly recommend this book! And absolutely anything else that has been published by FJ Blooding. This author has been on my TBR for longer than I care to admit, but no longer! Freakin' phenomenal.
Werewolves, witches, sirens and more! A new paranormal adventure begins in the unique world of F. J. Blooding as an evil power is targeting seers. If it was not hard enough that anyone with powers is being hunted down, October finds her her tarot cards leading her on mad-dash runs chasing clues, escaping death and capture, and actually speaking to her. I loved this adventure in the Whiskey universe!
A book with the twists and turns for October/Sky, who reads tarot cards. Asked to help the paranormal in hiding, or they could could turn up dead or something worse! The author took us in a suspenseful story with October in hiding. How do you help when you can't find the culprit. Good reading.
A survivor of the Para Wars, October lives and works in the Northern United States. Where it is illegal to be a para. Where being paranormal can get you shot. Even the discovery of her tarot cards could get her killed. Can she still help people and stay alive?
Such a great read!! Welcome to the world of October Sky! Set adjacent to the Whiskey Universe, it takes place during the para wars. There's lots of the stuff we loved from the original Whiskey books...magic, shifters, action, romance, big bads, intrigue, etc. Oh- and of course an AMAZINGLY awesome FMC 😉. I am loving this whole new set of characters based around a tarot seer supernatural named October Blaze. Take the ride as she and her motley crew of friends fight the good fight, try to out the big bad, and learn to make it another day. All while re-learning the ins and outs of her now more powerful gift. Suffice to say it makes things *interesting*. An amazing journey filled with lots of twists and turns that will keep you enticed to the last page! I look forward to book two.
She calls herself October Blaze, she is a seer bonded to her tarot deck, and she hasn’t used her gift in over a year. Unfortunately, she is suddenly having visions even with her cards safely hidden away and it looks like she is being hunted, and not just by people she once considered friends to a certain degree anyway. Worse is the shapeshifting siren, he is trapping seers he wants October, but she is just as determined to find the right people to make sure he does not make their part of the world even more terrifying than it is already. Wow, I loved this book! Action packed and exciting with amazing and unique characters. I highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
October Eclipse is the first book of the October Sky series and F.J. Blooding does not disappoint. October's journey has it all - action, suspense, magic, kick a** characters with a dash of romance. I absolutely love the dystopian like world the author has created for the series where para's are known but somewhat in hiding. The characters special abilities are unique - this is not your typical paranormal read. I found this book very hard to put down - I had to know what happened next. I am excited for book 2
OMG what a read! Welcome to October sky, book one, fast paced, action paced, exciting, thrilling, entertaining, this dystopian style world draws you in and it does not let go. October Blaze is our strong, kick ass female who’s a seer trapped and being hunted for what she can do. Magic and suspense as we follow October and crew fight to stay away from the baddies and make it through another day. It’s a captivating adventure brimming with twists and turns that you will not see coming and I’d like book two now please.
I loved this first in a new series set after the end of the parawar for the United States. In those states where the Paige's forces didn't win, life for paranormals is pretty grim but there are those who are fighting to make life better for those with special powers. The core characters are interesting and sympathetic, the villain is suitably dispicable but powerful enough to make a worthy oponent and there are enough ambivalent but powerful characters to keep you guessing. A great start to a great new series.
This is the first book in the October Sky series. The dystopian world became alive and made me a part of it. October was a seer that had to hide her paranormal abilities, along with the others with abilities. The story was full of suspense and lots of action. I loved the twists that kept you reading. I can’t wait until the next book.
An after the apocalypse beginning, when rules are still in flux and those thought of as other try to keep hidden from view. Lot's of mystery & who can you trust as this first book of the series sets the stage & Introduces us to who's left on this side of the wall. Tenuous at best, they struggle just to stay alive.
A great new start to a story within the para wars universe. I enjoyed the story and think that the characters a really interesting and I want to know more about this wonderful new world. Great Read! I Loved It!!! No Spoilers!
Allow two days (unless you want to pull an all-nighter) for this PG dystopian paranormal quest for survival set in Michigan in the not-too-distant future. I had an ARC via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary review.
October Eclipse - It has been awhile since I read the Whiskey Witches and the WW: Ancients books. Like them, this is an interesting read. I liked the characters and the story lines. 4*
