2.5 Informational, but it seemed more like a text for psychology students than perhaps a parent's guide. The book's subtitle [First Relationships and How They Shape Our Capacity to Love] might have you believe the author plans to explain this process to you. Eventually, he does, but this book is more of an historical account of how the attachment theory evolved amid squabbling professionals. And, with rare exception, the author has a habit of describing female counterparts by their body type whereas male counterparts are described by their personality.
