Clover Lee is happy raising her sons on the farm that has been in her family for three generations. Hallow Halls Farm is her happy place. It’s the legacy she will leave behind for her sons. Despite the hefty offers to sell, and enduring endless harassment from Blue Sky Realty, she is not leaving her land. The last place on earth Rhett Dawson wants to be is Hallow Falls, Colorado. But his barracuda of a stepbrother isn’t able to go and close the deal his father has been working on for over a year. So, by default, he finds himself knocking on the door to the Lee house. When the door opens, his heart stops. Looking him square in the eye is the woman who left him twenty years ago. The woman who broke his heart. She growls at him like a feral cat. “Get off my porch.” That’s when he realizes, he still loves her. Despite everything...she still has his heart. She slipped through his hands once. This time? Not a chance. He swore he would only fall once. And the woman he fell for is standing in front of him. Come hell or high water, she will be his again. No matter what.
Fall Once is an entertaining small town romance by M.J. Herald releasing as part of the Romance Bunnies Hallow Falls Series of novellas. Clover Lee is busy raising her two boys alone on her family farmland in Hallow Falls, dodging harassment from a reality company determined to get their hands on her land by any means necessary. Imagine her surprise when the company sends someone to knock on her door, and it’s Rhett Dawson, the love of her life who she hasn’t heard from in 20 years. The feelings are still there, but so is the pain from the way things ended so abruptly before. Can they heal the rift and build anew, or are there too many obstacles, both past and present, for them to get over?
This was a fun, quick read! The characters were engaging and relatable, and there was definitely plenty of steam!🔥🔥🔥 I really enjoyed the extra little suspense angle that brought some drama and action as well. For me, well-written kids are always a plus, and Logan and Zeke were adorable in the way that they tried to take care of their mama. And yes, I always appreciate an epilogue to tie things up nicely in a little bow, which this one did.🥰 As I read these novellas, I finding Hallow Falls to be a great place to visit, if you’re looking for some entertaining short stories.😉

A story that will pull at your heartstrings. Rhett and Clover were together in college and because of a series of misfortunes, never see each other until twenty years later. Clover and her two sons are trying to hold on to their ranch but a company is trying to take it over. Rhett is sent to the ranch to reason with the owner not knowing it belongs to Clover. Rhett and Clover still have a strong connection and steamy chemistry. Rhett knows he has to prove his love for Clover and Clover learns to trust her heart and listens to her sons and goes for what she wants. Another great read the the Hallow Falls series. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Fall Once by M.J. Herald is part of the multi-author Small Town Romance Bunnies series in the AB Shared World. This is the first book I have read by the author so I was not sure what to expect. I enjoyed this small town romance about Clover Lee and Rhett Dawson. They grew up next door to each other on farms but now they find themselves on more than just opposites sides of a fence. It has been twenty years since they have seen each other and both their lives have changed a lot. But soon those old feelings start bubbling up again, along with some other things.
The author has given us a heartwarming story that pulls us into the lives of Rhett, Clover and her two sons. The story keeps us turning the pages with second chances, denial and steam.
