The Mind of Christ

Rate this book
Scripture says that the Holy Spirit can give any Christian ""the same mind that was in Christ Jesus"" (Phil. 2:5). How would that change your life? ""The Mind of Christ may be the most penetrating biblical study of the saint's inner life to come out of this generation.""-Robert E. Coleman, Professor of Evangelism, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School

Any book by Kinlaw is theologically solid and will push you to grow closer to Jesus. This one is the clearest explanation of the sanctified life that you'll ever read.

"The texts I have mentioned do not point us toward a system of philosophy or a set of religious beliefs. They are not challenging us to live by a certain creed. To have "the mind of Christ" is to have his perspective, his attitude, his affections and priorities." (p. 14)

"Christ came to deliver us from the destructive tyranny of self-interest... The purpose of redemption is to undo our distorted orientation - to turn us outward, so that we are not interested in ourselves, but in the well-being of others." (p. 101)

Wow. Kinlaw is a master. This is one of the most powerful books I've ever read! Why oh why did I put off reading this book until now? I can't remember the last time a book impacted me personally, spiritually, as much as this one has just done! Read it. Read it now.

Very rich book, I appreciated and was challenged by the biblical depth and exposition.

“The mind of Christ is not a closely-guarded secret; His thinking is on open display throughout the Bible.”

I am amazed at Kinlaw's ability to explain rich theology in such simple language. The book's brevity and use of illustrations make for an easy read, but you're still left with much to ponder. What a beautiful way to present the message of holiness.

Thought-provoking but nothing terribly special. I didn't leave with any major takeaways.

He had some good things to say, though I had to weed out the Wesley rhetoric.

The style is certainly not what we see a lot of today, but wow! Kinlaw brings the truth and it is life-changing.
