Too much separated their hearts and the rest of their lives. He couldn’t stand for anything to separate their flesh.A chance meeting over a dead body has brought CPD Patrick Flaherty to a situation he never imagined before. It started out as a thinly veiled half-lie about trying to get information from Russian mobster, Alexei Boczar, but quickly spiraled into something far more than that.
“Everything and everyone outside this building are trying to tear us apart. I can live with that. I accepted that from the moment we started this… whatever this is. I can live with that because whatever this is, it’s stronger than everything and everyone outside. I wouldn’t keep coming back if it weren’t, and neither would you, so don’t bother lying about it. I can fight all of them, but I can’t fight you.”One of my favorite things to read about is people on opposite sides having this sort of forbidden attraction to each other. In this case, it's a criminal and a cop, which had me so excited. I was confused at first, as the first chapter made it seem like that exchange was their first, but I was pulled in further when the authors revealed the true depths of their relationship and the progression of it.
