Deathlands #28

Emerald Fire

Rate this book
The Amazon Basin remains a land of primoridal beauty and primitive people. Ryan Cawdor and his band of warrior survivalists emerge from a gateway into an abandoned U.S. military complex, now a native shrine to the white gods of pre-blast days. Here the group is given royal treatment, only to discover that privilege has a blood price. Original.

I really have grown to love this book series and the characters, but this book, while still being good, did not quite come up to par with the rest of the series (which does not mean you should not read it). It felt sort of aimless at parts, with random encounters that did not really drive along the plot, but the final chapters were making up in tension again.

Overall, good shallow entertainment with a few dry spots.

An average apocalyptic adventure story. This one takes a century after the last war and now there are mutants running around the earth. Recommended
