About the author

I live in South Louisiana with my husband and three dogs. I am an introvert and often prefer the company of dogs to people. Reading and writing bring me solace when the world around me becomes too much.
My relationship with my husband is the inspiration for many of the stories I have written. His willingness to allow me to explore and share my desires is just one of the reasons he continues to be the love of my life.
Female sexuality and desires are complex subjects that are often overlooked as our age advances. Once we reach certain age milestones......we become the forgotten ones.
When I turned fifty, I realized that stories about sexuality and women my age were a scarcity, and I set out to change that by delving deeper into what I personally feel regarding aging and my own sexuality. Women of all ages can and do love sex, and I want to portray that in the books I write. I want every woman, no matter what her age, to feel free to express and explore their desires without shame or judgment......embracing, what I consider, to be the fountain of youth.
In the stories I write, the description of "perfection" doesn't mean without flaws. Perfection can also mean that you have traveled to hell and back, gotten a few scars along the way, but made it through like the warrior goddess you were always meant to be. Embrace those stretch marks, c-section scars, and the extra pounds.....perfection is in the eyes of the beholder.

Let me preface by saying if you don't like erotica, then this book will not be your cup of tea. Smut is my thing, so I enjoyed this book and the follow-up novel as well. I mostly enjoyed the fact that the female main character is not a twenty-something-year-old; she is a woman in her forties trying to cope after a divorce while supporting herself and living a normal life, something most of us can relate to. In fact, most of the characters are middle-aged, something you don't often see in this genre. The plot gets better in the second novel, and my pre-order of the third one just arrived. Can't wait to start it! All in all, a good novel for a relatively unknown author. I will definitely read more from her.

good, hot read

I was not sure what to expect with this book. First read by this author. Now I am glad I took a chance. Was very good, detailed, and easily relatable.
Overview: Elise is an older woman going through a divorce. After her kids have grown up, she realizes that her and her husband have nothing in common, have not had a sex life in years and live in different room, and tired of being alone. She meets several men along her new journey in hopes of reinventing herself and finding happiness. The only bad part of the story is that it leaves on a cliffhanger.

Wow. What a steamy romance novel. It's hard to believe Ms. Alder has such a hot first novel. The opening pages absolutely grab you and get you going--literally! Her writing is perfectly descriptive and intense! No wasted words or obscurity. This new author has what it takes, and I feel she will go far in her career. From reading up on her, I learned she is following up this debut with another book. Awesome.

Oh boy…

This just didn’t work for me.
The writing style I did not enjoy, I found it annoying. I think I counted on one page her name Elise 10 times.
It sucks because I really liked the couple, this could of been something really great!
