Celestial Society #1

Scorpio Rising

Rate this book
Los Angeles, the City of Angels. Capital of the Celestial Society. We exist right under your nose, hiding in plain sight...
My life, from the outside, is perfect. I have everything a girl could ever want. Power. Status. Beauty. Loyal followers who worship the ground I walk on. Not only do I attend Luna Academy, the most elite university for feminine magic, but I am also the queen of it and the most powerful fireling to grace these halls in an age.
I’m untouchable.
At least, I was. Until him. Until the shadow with silver eyes invaded my life out of nowhere and took everything from me. He leaves a trail of terror and devastation everywhere he goes. He won’t stop until he gets what he wants. And what he wants is me. He says what he’s done to me was necessary. He says I belong with him. He’s as batsh*t crazy as he is powerful. When whispers of an ancient prophecy emerge, I can’t help but wonder if he’s right. Has fate brought us together?
I don’t care.
I have fire in my blood and a dragon’s temper. Even with the Fates and the odds stacked against me, I will not go down without a fight. And everyone knows shadows are no match for fire.
***Scorpio Rising is a dark fantasy/romance, full of morally grey characters and mature themes, not suitable for those under 18***

What more could you possibly ask for in the dark urban fantasy set in LA world?? This book was one hell of a rollercoaster ride so buckle up and get ready for Nyx Morningstar and her littlle crew to wreck havoc to your heart.

The plot wasn't what it seemed as things get pretty dark and heavy in themes soon but worth the pain and angst because the characters literally went through hell and back. Once you start to read, you won't be able to stop.

My dear author, give me book 2 asap to put me out of my misery iykyk.

Read this baddie and thank me later!

Nyx is serving cunt through out most of this book. At times you don't want to like her, but that is what makes her character development so impactful. We get to go with her as she experience a death of her ego.
Jedidiah holds nyx up so she can sore and Solaris tears her down to be remade new. They are a juxtaposition and I can not see what book 2 has in store.

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD, WHAT DID I JUST READ?!! I HAVE A BEEF WITH EVERYONE NOT GIVING THIS BOOK THE HYPE IT DESERVES!

This book had me gripping from the very beginning. I'm not even kidding when I say that when I read the prologue, I was SAT. I knew this was gonna be interesting and different from what I've read so far. I don't read books with multiple povs bcs I find it confusing but boy did I devour this one. Granted, I didn't know that it had multiple pov at first but I was too invested to care later. Nyx is a BADASS, probably one of my most fav fmcs of all time along with Emilia. I could NOT put this book down. The plot twists were INSANELY unexpected. I love Nyx's character growth. And urgh, I know we got Jedidiah x Nyx scenes but I hope Solaris x Nyx is endgame. I liked Jedidiah's character but Solaris is just 🔥🔪. I have a few questions like why Venus is cooperating with Solaris, why Michael has powers and where Nyx's mom falls into all this and so on. I hope we'll get answers in the next book. I hate cliffhangers but I loved how this book ended for some reason. I can't wait to see where the story ends. This is like 702 pages long but I FLEW through it. At one point, I forced myself to read slower to savor it bcs the next book isn't out yet.

Do you know when you’ve finished a book and you find yourself longing for something and feeling a physical sensation that’s akin to missing someone but you can’t figure it out. Then it hits you — you miss the characters and setting of the book you just read. Well, that doesn’t happen to me very often but when it does, it creates this void in my life that’s both terrible and beautiful at the same time. This book, these characters, have done it. I miss them.

I have to admit, when I started this book I was a bit skeptic that I would enjoy it. It’s not my preferred genre at all, but I’m so glad I gave it a chance because it’s truly a work of art. A fun, chaotic, twisted, dark and sexy work of art with so many hidden messages and parallels to our own society. There wasn’t a dull moment in this entire book. It reminded me of Mean Girls, Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl and Harry Potter all wrapped into one book.

It has bits of humour and really well done spice. With tropes such as “Who did this to you?”, love triangles, enemies to lovers, DRAGONS.

Thank you to the author Fibi for allowing me to be a ARC reader and enter the world of Nyx, Jed, Solaris, and Emilia.

THIS BOOK WAS MAGICAL! I am declaring myself president of the Nyx Morningstar fan club because I am absolutely OBSESSED with her. This book has magic, a magical academy, corruption AND MF DRAGONS.

This gave me Zodiac Academy vibes but (please don’t come for me this is MY opinion) WAY WAAAAY better.

I cannot freaking wait for book two

“Celestials - we’re the last of it. ‘Children of the Divine’ they call us. A species created by the old gods, seeded here to preserve high magic on the Earth plane. Our kind exists all around the world, but LA is our homeland. All the highborn bloodlines dwell here because, well, this city was made for us.”

I was lucky enough to get the ARC before it is released for an honest review. I loved this world, connected to it on a deeper level. The glory and sparkle of LA mixed with old magic, Gossip Girl style..

Nyx was all that her magical element -fire- represents, the badass queen of the Academy, chaos and power, explosive and hot-tempered, deeply flawed and messed up, sometimes too much even for the reader, burning everything to ash behind her. She is a character you want to slap sometimes because she is so self-centered, never looking back at what she leaves behind, but we could see the carnage through the eyes of Emilia - her younger sister who was her opposite. I liked her calm POV of a newbie to the magic world where her sister rules. She might have stood in Nyx’s shadow in the beginning but she hold her own as the story went, giving us the look at Nyx from the outside.
“You still don’t fucking get it, do you, Emilia? Wake up! This is how our universe works! You want to level up? You want a purpose? Then you gotta walk through your own personal hell and come out the queen of it. Otherwise you might as well just be a clueless mortal, living in stagnant comfort.”
Nyx fought with her flaws, had courage to look at them and change, overcome her basic instincts to strike, to always react to every bait.. She still has a journey to go but she is willing to truly see herself.

Jedidiah - the Groundshaker. Nyx’s frienemy, always challenging her, always pushing her beyond her limits.
“Shit, I understood him. I understood the need to crush others beneath your feet just to keep yourself standing. We were similar, terrible creatures, him and I.”
I got to love his character and the journey he went through and he has become my favorite character of all.

And then Solaris - the Darkbringer, the villain that made Nyx powerless and still she couldn’t shake him off. The darkness to her light. Multi-layered and full of hidden currents we only started to grasp.
“Why would we fight like men, when we can fight like gods?”
Wielding shadows and manipulating everybody from behind the curtains.. And yet with his own wounds and secrets.

The story was written from several POVs, it has all the tropes we love - morally grey characters, enemies to lovers, magic and glam, from the glamour of LA to the Vatican underground. And the cliffhanger! Can’t friggin’ wait for what the next book brings because you can tell it’s gonna be one hell of a ride

I received an advanced copy for free in exchange for my honest review. I'm honored and overjoyed to have been able to read this book, and I'm frustrated in the best way because it's not even in print yet and I CRAVE the next volumes in the series so badly. I can't wait to see what happens with the characters and plotline as the series continues, but let's get into what I felt from this text in and of itself.

Fibi built a world that is reminiscent of our own world, but with the Veil lifted. As a True Sky Astrologer and Intuitive, I sensed that Fibi tapped into a layer of truth that is real that needs to be spoken for. And she spoke for it POWERFULLY. The entire text felt like an activation of Remembrance for my spirit and soul in so many ways. The dedication itself ("For the dreamers, and the girls on fire.") gives me chills every time I think about it.

This text isn't high literature, it's not filled with flawless characters, and it's not a totally pleasant read -- but it doesn't claim to be any of these things. I appreciate the realness of the characters and how those who frustrated me at first for being totally flat became well-rounded as the story developed. I absolutely HATED the protagonist at first, but the circumstances of the story really allowed her to grow on me, and I can't wait to see what happens to Nyx Morningstar in the next volumes.

I found the characters to be fascinating and perfectly flawed. I thoroughly enjoyed the world Fibi built, even though aspects of it are a bit tired in how they're so reminiscent of Twilight, Frozen, and The Hunger Games at times. However, in the world Fibi built, these pop culture themes are actually referenced by the characters because it's a world overlaid on our own, honoring pop culture and celebrity culture as much as the true spiritual past of this world. She references things like Tartaria, Atlantis, and the Underworld flawlessly, and don't even get me STARTED ABOUT THE DRAGONS. Chills everywhere.

One of my favorite aspects of the story is how Fibi interwove the truth of Astrology into the mix, shouting out Ophiuchus, the often ignored, erased, and forgotten 13th Zodiac Constellation. The way this text reclaims the truth of the skies and honors Ophiuchus will make this one of my favorite books I've ever read until the day I die, no doubt. And as I write this, there's a Full Moon in Ophiuchus coming up at the end of the week, and the cosmic "coincidence" there is absolutely not lost on me <3

The plot ensnared me, the characters grew on me, the world in the novel activates me deeply, and the romance plotline didn't even feel forced. I normally despise romance-focused stories, but Fibi managed to create this "Dark Romantasy" genre novel without making me feel like it was all about the romance. And then when it WAS about the romance, SHEWWWWWWWWWW. It was lusciously steamy.

I didn't think I'd really love this book, and I did negatively judge the book by its cover a little bit at first. Within the first few pages of meeting Nyx, I almost gave up on her. But the world Fibi built and the plotline totally engaged me, and I'm glad I gave the headstrong Nyx another chance because how she emerges into new truth at the end of the novel is SO worth it to arrive at. My favorite characters were Emilia Morningstar (Nyx's younger sister) and Jedidiah Stone.

As a reader with a critical eye to social justice themes, I enjoyed having characters of all races and ethnicities present. I was a bit frustrated with how gender-normative and hetero-centric the storyline was, but it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the story. I have a sense that there were a few queer characters who might come out of the closet in future volumes of this series, and even if there aren't, I'll continue to read until Fibi stops publishing.

The emotions that this text stirred up inside me were juicy, real, and absolutely worth it to experience. I can't tell you how many times I gasped audibly or began to cry for the spiritual and reality-based truth of these characters. I want more of their backstories, and if this was a one-and-done text without sequels coming, I'd be totally pissed that the characters weren't developed more... but I know more amazingness is coming, and I can't wait to learn more about these flawed heroes and loveable villains in the next one(s).

FIBI, you're a rockstar, and I thank you so much for sharing this powerful Truth with the world. You're making me cry right now, you girl on fire, you! Beyond honored to get to be a reader before it even comes out.

I devoured this book and my heart is in shambles …

First things first, the vibes in this book were impeccable . I enjoyed this book and all of the characters in it immensely ! Though Nyx was an immediate fav . I feel like there will be even more to her in book 2 . I literally don’t think I’ve ever read a 600+ page book so fast in my life , it was just so enjoyable .

This book has quickly become a new favorite and I cannot rave about it enough , there is just something special about it . This book has many of the tropes that I just love , romantasy , bad@ss FMC , broody MMCs and more . I cannot wait to read book 2 🖤

Solaris's eyes brightened. ''That's it,'' he coaxed. ''Unleash yourself. Show them what a glorious little weapon of mass destruction you are.''

Thank you Fibi Marie, for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review! All thoughts are my own and left voluntarily.

2000 years ago, magic was the social norm where mortals, gods, mythical creatures and nature coexisted peacefully. But then war happened. Couple hundred years ago, Celestials made a treaty with the elite mortal families and the world split in two - the mortal and magical beings went their separate ways. Now, those who possess magic can blend in with mortals, but they need to hide their magic. Hiding in plain sight became the Celestial way.

Scorpio Rising is author's debut novel. It's quite interesting mix of magic, astrology, some popular cinema/tv-series inspo and great pacing and mysterious plot. This is a rare occasion where I didn't like FMC. I just could not stand her massive ego and self-centered antics. I do somewhat understand why she would be like this, but even after a while, feeling like I started to like her, she says something so ridiculous that I had to roll my eyes. To be fair, Nyx does have a character growth, but not enough that I started to like her.

The second rare occasion is that I liked more secondary MC then MMC - hello Jed! Don't get me wrong, I am intrigued by Solaris and I want to help him unpack his trauma and witness more of his manipulative theatrics, but there is something *magical with Jed.

Despite FMC, I did enjoy this book and the plot. I didn't guess some major twists that author cooked up for us, so I was genuinely surprised and happy for it! Kudos, Fibi!

We were left with a mean cliffy, so I'm eager to see what author will do next :)

Magical schools and dragons..?? Say less.

I think this book was an amazing start to the Celestial Society series! I will say I am not an astrology person so I didn’t really connect with that part of the storyline/world building but I really enjoyed the unique storyline. This book has such a fun, magical atmosphere with strong characters and plot. I personally prefer more character depth/development and in depth world building but I still had such a fun time reading this book.

⭐️3.5 This book had some pretty good moments, some cringe moments, and a lot of average moments. It felt in an extremely similar vein to Zodiac Academy, but the structure and the character development for me just wasn’t as good.

I understand that the FMC is supposed to be a queen bee royal b*tch who falls from her throne, but I just didn’t buy into it, or her. I think what irked me most is her relationship, or lack there of, with her sister. It annoys me so much that she treats her like crap for no reason and it makes me not root for her or like her at all. I do like that Natalia calls her out for it.

Also - the ‘fall from grace’ that was supposed to emphasized was random and didn’t even have an impact. There was no real emotion drawn out or feeling like she really was going to change or understand her need of a serious attitude adjustment.

I don’t like the love triangle trope going on here - everything just seems forced and was told rather than shown.

I like Emilia’s character but the ‘tension’ between her and Michael feels more like awkardness than lust or romantic.

Then, the random vampires? I don’t know I just don’t understand how they fit into this world at all.

Everything in this book just didn’t really flow for me or hit the mark. Overall it was an okay book.

I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this book.

Plot: 4/5⭐️
Spice: 3,75/5🌶️
Genre: Dark Academia, Witchy Dragon vibes
Setting: Hidden magical schools in LA
POV: Multiple
- Magic
- Love triangle
- Found Family
- shadow Daddy
- enemies to lovers
- dragons, witches, vampires

The plot centers around two sisters, Nyx and Emilia Morningstar.

Nyx is the older sister, who has attended Luna Academy for Celestials and is “queen bee”. She is impulsive, hot headed, aggressive, punchy and often rude and a bit cruel. She can be shallow too. She’s entering her second year at the academy.

Her younger sister Emilia joins the school and is soft, naive and sweet. Everything Nyx is not.

One night at a beach party, something happens to Nyx, which sets off a series of events which begin to change the course of both the girls lives irrevocably.

A dark power is released from his shadow prison. And it just so happens that Nyx is the one who accidentally let him go. He has stolen her magic and is now blackmailing her to get it back. He does terrible, awful things in their society. But the things he says to her? The more he tells her, the less she can deny that they are true and something is deeply wrong with their society…and just maybe this man that everyone thinks is so evil…is quite the opposite.

Jedadiah Stone is Nyx’s arch enemy. They have a hate hate relationship. So when he too is threatened by this new evil that has been unleashed, and Nyx begins to act strangely, he starts to do some digging of his own and discovers that things are far worse than what they seem.
And perhaps, the enemy of his new enemy is…his hot arch nemesis?

What I really enjoyed was the fact that I wasn’t sure where it was going a lot of the time. It was unpredictable which was refreshing.

All in all, this book had me hooked from the first few pages. It was well paced and a great read.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It did give me major Zodiac Academy alarms at times, and the scene with the dragon at the end in the stadium gave me Danaerys Game of Thrones vibes big time…but…meh. I still enjoyed it. A lot.

It’s not everyday that you meet a heroine who’s a villain in her own right.

Nyx Morningstar does little to redeem herself in the first instalment of this captivating series— and that’s what makes her so darn entertaining to read.

I love her but THE EGO ON THAT GIRL 😤🔥

This book truly took me by surprise at every turn. Just when I thought I knew how the story would go, the characters and the plot wove an unexpected and magical thread into the unknown. The Goddess is mysterious after all.

Villainy and greyness abound. This is a dark fantasy for those who love elemental magic, the power of dream, teasing the veil between magic and mortals, powerlust, and some good old fashioned enemies to lovers romance.

I laughed so much (Hello Hairless Wonder), I cried (Chapter 26 😭🦊 & Chapter 41 🐉😩), I got the hots for someone other than the villain for once (I mean, how could we resist a line like “You never get on your knees. Not even for this. Not for me, not for anyone.“ 😏🔥)

Our dastardly villain did reach right into my heart though (if you know you know) with his wickedness, intelligence, and perfectly tragic back story, but it doesn’t make him any less cruel and cunning.

I live for Solaris monologues. The man can justify horrors beyond all comprehension with style 🙌

“Why would we fight like men, when we can fight like gods?” ❤️‍🔥

I can’t wait for the next book and to see the mysterious corruption within the Celestial Society come to light, what hurdles lie ahead to be jumped through, and of course— watch our little crew grow and flourish into their prophecies!! 💖

Whether you too are a starseed and See all of the deep spiritual truths hidden in plain sight in this text, or you’re just out for an escape from the mortal world into one of magic, I can’t recommend this book enough.

Chefs kiss 😚 👌

✨ I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review ✨

“Alone, we are powerful. Together, we are indestructible.”

“The brighter the light, the darker the shadow.”

“If you kill a king, he dies a king. But if you collapse his castle, turn his kingdom against him, strip him of his crown and titles, and render him a peasant, well, then, he dies as nothing.”

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I think… I think I have found my favorite read of 2023 so far.

Y’all this book has everything. E-VER-Y-THING.

Enemies to lovers ✅
Love triangle ✅
Extremely morally grey female main character ✅
Multiple POVs ✅
Excellently executed character development ✅
Themes ✅
Spice ✅
Emotional agony ✅
Unique as heck modern fantasy worldbuilding ✅
DRAGONS 🐉 (fourth wing who?!) ✅

I do not say this lightly - I demolished this book in like three days (I forgot to update my Goodreads okay, I was so sad this ended that I left reality for a bit) because between the characters and the plot and the absolute struggle and beauty of it all, it felt like I could not spend five minutes away from this story.

I will say, over the last year or so, as I’ve started to read more and more often, I’ve gotten pickier about writing styles, character development, plot devices, you name it. (Forgive the run-on sentence) But truly, despite all of that, Scorpio Rising absolutely knocked it all out of the park. Nyx is an absolute icon *even* when you want to throttle her and it makes the story that much more engaging. And she is not the only character you hear from and fall in love with.

I’m honestly hesitant to go into lots of detail because I just want you all to be able to experience this on your own. But even so, just know it is *chef’s kiss* 🤌

Debut novel y’all. Keep Fibi on your watch list forevermore. She’s coming for our throats and our hearts.

I am OBSESSED wow I think this might be my favorite read of 2023.

First of all a book that has witches, and wizards that are all adults in a magical college hidden in LA um yes pls!!

The plot is so good and there is so much depth to it! There is so much going on and the story unravels beautifully. I would say more but want my review to be free of spoilers.

As far as the characters this book has it all. There are 4 main characters. We’ve got your Mysterious and powerful MMC, angry and powerful MMC, sassy and powerful FMC, and then shy and sweet FMC. And some great side characters that have so much personality and really add to the book. The character arrangement was giving TVD in the way there isn’t a total focus on just one person. From the beginning we’re getting all the characters which I loved.

Can’t forget to add it’s a little spicy - 🌶️🌶️/5. It’s there but not overcrowding the plot by any means. I could see the next one being spicier because we’ve got some slow burns happening in the first one.

Also shoutout to the author because from what I’ve seen this is her first book? I mean she did that!!!

I don’t usually write long reviews and normally just throw in a casual sentence so I can remember how I felt about a book. This is probably the most in depth I’ve given but because it’s so new and I’m a completely unbiased reader I really wanted to express how great this was. If you made it this far just add it to your TBR already. Xoxo

This book was so good I loved everything about it. You start reading and get sucked into this world of celestial beings and magic and it’s just perfect.
There are angels, fights about power, mystery, love, friendship and that all sprinkled with a bit of dragons and vampires and a little bit of spice. What is there not to love😩

I absolutely loved the FMC Nyx she was badass and although in the beginning she was a bit selfish. (with reason tho)
But throughout the book she got so much stronger, conquered her fears and learned so much about herself. She was such a strong female Character.

Jedidiah I actually didn’t like in the beginning but as the story unfolded he just got so much better. I love him he’s just perfectly flawed and definitely knows how to worship a woman.😏

(„You never get on your knees. Not even for this. Not for me, not for anyone.“ as an example🖤)

Solaris was different he should’ve been the villain in this story but somehow he’s not. He’s misunderstood and has so much rage and grief in him. He shows up out of nowhere and forces Nyx to do things she doesn’t want to do but this somehow makes her stronger and discover her real power.

This really was one of the best books I’ve read this year and I want to thank the author for providing me with an arc of this wonderful work of art.❤️

Where do I begin?…… This book, from the moment I began had me completely enthralled and on the edge on my seat. The characters are so relatable and this book has you rooting for every single one of them, even the villains. If you like magic, dark fantasy, romance and/or thrills this book is for you. If you are a little bit of a conspiracy theorist and know that those in power cannot fully be trusted, this book is for you. If you ever read Harry Potter when you were young but are now an adult and need something a little more indepth and spicy this book is for you!!! By the time I finished this book (and I powered through it because I could NOT put it down, I just wanted more) my mouth had dropped wide open. I was and am fully awestruck still. Such a powerful and meaningful book, that has me truly inspired. I am even going to re-read before the hard copy of it is released because there may have been magical tidbits I missed. You will not regret reading this book, that I can promise you. I cannot wait to get my hands on a hard copy and add to my book collection. Thank you Fibi Marie for this epic tale, and cannot wait to see where the adventure takes us. *STAND UP OVATION!!!!*

When I started reading this book I really wasn’t quite sure if I would like it or not. The FMC is morally grey, unkind, and with an ego the size of a planet. I didn’t like her for most of the book, but I really enjoyed her character growth by the end and I’m looking forward to seeing how she continues to grow as a person.

I have the exact same opinion of Solaris. I didn’t realize how much he’d grown on me until a scene where I thought he might have really been a goner. I was so worried about him!

I instantly loved Emilia. It was so nice to get her POVs and see her and Nyx’s sister relationship grow. I look forward to more of that.

And Jedediah *swoon* I hope nothing bad ever happens to him because he deserves ALL the happiness ever!

This story certainly kept me on my toes! My predictions were pretty much always wrong and I loved that aspect of the story. I was surprised at every turn and can’t wait for book 2!

This book……. THIS BOOK!!!!😭❤️‍🔥🐉☄️🪐🧿

I have never been so immersed up in a book the way I was Scorpio Rising. I actually had to pace myself to only read a few chapters at a time as I wanted to truly experience this book. As when I say experience, I truly mean it! The rollercoaster of emotions I felt, constantly feeling my heart being pulled in different directions. The contradiction of Fire vs Ice, Hot vs Cold, Feminine vs Masculine, Modern vs Ancient. I cried, laughed, yelled and grieved for the characters so deeply. The way real-world issues are highlighted in such a beautifully depicted way, bringing light to societal constructs that no longer work for this generation of light-workers. I wish I could re-read this for the first time over and over again. The next books in the series can’t come fast enough! You’ve got me hooked forever Fibi!

10/10. Cannot recommend enough. Well done 🐉💛

Such an amazing story! Relatable characters, intense backstories and such an amazing balance of dark and light.
Once started I could not put this down. The lead female is such a magnanimous spirit, embodiment the true sense of a strong fire fueled female. The romance is engaging and never leaves you bored.
Every character is portrayed so well!
I am only upset on simply one thing….that I have to wait to finish the plot!
Such an amazing way to end on a cliffhanger that doesn’t irritate the mind (as normally they do for me). I cannot WAIT for the sequel and will be waiting with a bouncing leg until it is out.
This is such a Harry Potter meets Game of Thrones meets Hunger Games meets Shadow Hunter series.
Encasing all the qualities of fantasy that I love!
A truly fantastic read!

⭐⭐⭐⭐

A page turning dark fantasy romance, with high stakes, enemies to lovers, magic and overall 'bad-assery'.

Nyx Morningstar is the most popular girl at the Luna Academy, she has the looks and the power. However things take a turn for the worst when she's Astral Snatched by a mysterious, shadowy male with silver eyes - threatening to put an end to her reign.

I enjoyed the POV of the two Morningstar sisters who were quite the opposites. Nyx, the hot headed 'Queen' of Luna Academy and Emelia, the calm, innocent new 'starseed'. We also get the POV of different characters which showed what was happening in their worlds.

Goddess!!! What did I just read? First, let me tell you what a MASTERPIECE this story is! And for a debut book… this author has great potential!!!
The writing skills are out of this world! Unpredictable and full of action, this little paranormal-gem is exactly what I look for, in a book!
I requested this arc only because of the cover and title! I went in blind, and boy, was I in for a hell of a ride!
The characters: bada$$, sexy, confident
The plot: full of twists and turns and extremely addictive
The story: unpredictable and action-packed
The spice: well, not enough for my liking, but it was there…
The entire book left me wanting more and more! I thoroughly enjoyed every single word!
Go in blind!

:༻🦋༺: Highly recommended! :༻🦋༺:

First things first: Nyx is a badass.
Ok, on with the rest of the book. I really liked it.
I was in a major book slump and did not DNF this book, this means something in my world.

I'm not into astrology myself, but I really liked how astrology and magic were mixed in this book. I'd like to have some live tattoos! The world building was pretty good and a bit of dragons in there?..Sign me up. I liked how there was diversity in this book, how characters has flaws and how Nyx worked on those. The tropes: enemies to lovers, morally grey characters, magic, dragons and a cliff hanger that has me wanting book 2 right this second.

Ps: I’ve had the pleasure of receiving this book as an ARC and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

What I enjoyed most about this book was the jump-start introduction that was enticing and kept the reader wanting to know more! The way I was entranced reading this book, I couldn’t put it down! Thoroughly enjoyed seeing the multiple character developments, the witty banter, and “what’s next?” Moments. More often times than not, I would begin to question, “whose side am I really on?” “Is he really the bad one here?” “Surely there’s more to the story…” The twists and turns is enough to keep a reader engaged, of course adding some romance never hurts.

The plot twists, the growing backstories, and upcoming battles, I honestly can’t wait!

If you’re having a Zodiac Academy hangover, this book will serve you those same vibes. The first half of the book was a little hard to get through, but that was due to the writing style and language. The last 100 pages were amazing and I wish the rest of the book had that same energy. Our FMC is a character that you start by loving to hate, but then find yourself rooting for her as the story unfolds. Two potential MMC love interests also had me in chokehold and I loved watching them interact with Nyx and each other. Predictable, but fun! Very light spice that felt important to the story without being gratuitous. Tons of tension and yearning, which we love to see. Excited for the next book to see where this story goes.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5= story

I loved the book so much. The story. The characters. The vibes. The language. I think it's true art - the wordplay Fibi uses, kinda makes you wanna melt into them... and whether you choose to or not YOU WILL immerse and surrender yourself to the story once you lay your eyes on the first chapter. In this book Fibi wonderfully merges ancient wisdom & knowledge of magic with modern reality. More than that - it is beautifully shown how are own shadow just wants to see us in our full glory ;) This book is absolutely deep, intimate, sexy, promising to take you -dear future reader - on one of the wildest and exclusive dragon rides of your life!!

I can’t believe this is Fibi’s first book! It’s absolutely breathtaking. I love the characters and the plot - it’s such a fresh breath of induviduality compared to the many newbies that are wayyy to similar to eachother. This series is UNIQUE AND MAGICAL! You instantly fall in love with Nyx and Emilia - their different perspectives adds a lot of flavour and intensity. This book contains everything I love about fantasy and I can’t wait for book 2! Booktok need to find this series - it absolutey slays and is my new obsession. Bring on the fan art & videos! PS - I need to know more about Faye & Natalia 🔮🧚🏼‍♀️🐉🔥⚔️
