I finished the Young Whit trilogy. I honestly hope there is more in the series, but if there's not I feel it wrapped up pretty well. I loved Young Whit and seeing how his faith grew throughout the books and how he became a Christian and learned that his love of science and technology came from God. A great series for fans of Adventures In Odyssey.

Mostly good!
Kinda boring

The whole plot of this book is Whit lost a “rag” by placing it in their shed and someone stole it, but oh no! It was actually an ancient holy relic!
Huh?
And it magically healed a gunshot wound.
Huh!?!?

Dislike:
Page 7:
Johnny sat at the desk in his room working on a replica of a storm glass weather barometer fashioned in the style of the one made by Admiral Robert FitzRoy, the taciturn sailor who had commanded the HMS Beagle for the Darwin expedition. FitzRoy was a brilliant meteorologist.

Whit knows karate during the Great Depression?

It was just ok. It was hard to follow and yet again, for a third time, the plot resolves at the very end with simplistic answers to what had appeared all along to be a complex scenario. My son started to say it was boring half way through, but we finished it. On the good points, it shows a young boy expressing emotion, and has some good Christian messages.
