Interlude at Rehoboth

Rate this book
Interlude at Rehoboth, the sequel to Lunch Bucket Lists , continues the adventures of four mature and creative women who live in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Always supportive of each other as they pursue bucket list goals and solve problems, they now face their biggest challenge when Laura is sidelined by a sudden hospital stay. Orchid, Clarissa, and Elizabeth jump in to manage her trendy Baltimore Avenue shop, Interlude. Orchid's bossy but loveable mother, Iris, is also instrumental in keeping the shop afloat. Laura's daughter, Natalie, with Laura's tiny granddaughter in tow, arrives on the scene to lend support, only to experience a shock when she finds Laura married to a much younger man. Meanwhile, Clarissa overcomes a new fear of flying, with the help of Cecily, the hospital social worker who joins the group of friends. Elizabeth studies for her Jeopardy audition and struggles with a decision about retirement. Her experience of being trapped in a building alone, with a potentially dangerous animal, aids in her decision, after her rescue by friends, the police, and the psychic, Mrs. Knowl. Other surprises keep the group on high alert, engrossed in life in their beloved beach town and on the boardwalk, while the Atlantic Ocean provides a backdrop of stability. As in real life, serious and humorous situations are often intertwined, to be enjoyed or endured with good friends.

I loved this book. It's a delightful beach read about a group of women who get themselves up to no good in the best possible ways. And if you have a habit of reading books that make you ask yourself "what the heck is wrong with people" like I am, this will be a refreshing pause button on losing your faith in humanity. This is fun and heartwarming!

*This is the second book in a series about this group of friends. While it isn't necessary to have read Lunch Bucket Lists to enjoy this book, it will add to your enjoyment if you do.
