I have to say this is my favorite in this series so far. It held me captivate to see how this Feral Warrior was going to let go of this tormented soul. The detail the author gives you is nothing short to leave someone in awe. You also get a lot of action from both the hero and heroine.

Warning here please note this is on the darker side of paranormal so be careful this one has torture as in physically and mentally. Even with the abuse its well worth trying to read this book. Pamela is one that can write this stuff with out it leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

Few spoilers
Jag is the most combative and tormented of all the Feral warriors. As you read you’ll find yourself one min in love with Jag and the next you want to rip him into for the way he treats Olivia. Don’t let Olivia fool you though she can stop it all if she wanted to, she is not helpless. She totally understands what Jag is and what he has went though. She herself has been in the same shoes, so now she has to find a way to bring Jag around and out of his torment so she can have the love she deserves. It was amazing reading how one woman can bring a arrogant cat to his knees in more ways than one.

I love the away the author writes these strong heroin’s for these warriors and the abilities they have. Olivia has something special about her she has it since she was seven. No one has never known but one will find it out and use it to his advantage or at least he thinks it will be to his advantage, I say "curiosity killed the cat" or in this one brings him down.

I don’t want to give out a big spoiler. But I feel I need to warn some about a something without just coming out and saying it. I want to touch on the sex and relationship between Jag and Olivia. Olivia is amazing how she holds up under Jag’s treatment after he finds out her secret and I have to say its not for the weak to read. As your reading I really want to stress keep in mind Jag is messed up and doesn’t know how to love. So some of the sex scenes are steamy hot, than there is a few that is not so hot.

This is the same as the rest of the series you get to read enough of the feral warriors without it overloading the story of the hero and heroine. I am finding each book in this series just gets better and better. I cant wait for Hunger Untamed…

This is a controversial one for me. I enjoyed the storyline, but there were a couple of things I just can’t get over. Well, really, only one thing. We all know rape is about control - not just sex. It’s about holding control over another person and degrading them down by forcing sex. How is that not what Jag did to Olivia? He finds out her secret, tells her in no uncertain terms that he will keep her secret as long as she gets naked and on her hands and knees, she fights an internal battle between pride and living the rest of her life hiding and running from those who want to kill her, so she gets on her hands and knees as the lesser of two evils. Jag pets and teases and makes her want it physically, but her mouth keeps saying no, no, no. He doesn’t let up and she finally breaks and begs for him to fuck her. So he does. What an ass. I was really holding out for Jag not to force completion or Olivia to buck up and say fuck YOU, I’d rather spend my life on the run than be forced into sex with you.
Now, I realize that if this were to happen in the real world, it’s not always a viable option to run for the rest of your life instead of performing a sex act. Who knows what a real, live person would do. But this isn’t the real world. It’s a world where (in my opinion) loyalty and honor and chivalry and protectiveness all make a better man, and doing things that are right and just will prevail over evil every day of the week. It’s about happy endings, folks. And the good guys winning. And Jag is not a good guy.
Another thing I didn’t care for (and too many paranormal romances are trending this way) is that everyone has to have an orgasm right in the middle of the woods as they’re coming up on the major fight scene. I’m all about the sex (I mean, seriously - I’m all about the sex), but I think this goes a little overboard. I understand the role of sex in this world, but I think it just gives sex too much power over you. I prefer a world where you don’t NEED to have sex - you just can’t keep your hands off each other and choose to have sex all the time, including inconvenient times such as right before a fight in the middle of the woods. I know that sounds impossible to write, but it’s been done, and done well.
Now, let’s move to what I DID like, which was the physical fights between the main characters. Chick can kick some ass and I love a good brawl between a man and a woman. Also, and separate from my previous statements about the sex, it was awesome. I know that sounds contradictory, but if you take out everything AROUND the sex and just focus on the sex itself, it was pretty damn fine.
So, bottom line. 2 stars. Good storyline--I just can’t overlook the things I disliked.

Shapeshifters, daemons, dradens, mages, Therians and humans meet in this fourth Feral Warriors series book in a war of good versus evil to keep (or release from, depending on what side they are on) the High Daemon Satanan imprisoned.

Olivia, draden-kissed when her mom was killed by the draden (remnants of daemons) when she was only seven, is doomed to suck the life force from those around her if she didn't quickly learn to turn down the feeding to a trickle. They would kill her, even after more than 400 years, if they knew.

Very sexy Feral Warrior Jag, the male lead, is a "first rate jerk" who is more often than not scowling and sneering at everyone. Olivia is very attracted to Jag and she can't figure out why. Even with his "impressive musculature" he looks feral even when he's not in his jaguar form. He can't remember the last time he was so intrigued with a woman as he is by Olivia. She is a strong warrior in her own right.

Sparks, disrespectful comments and insults fly when the two of them are near each other which is suddenly all the time when she, as head of the Therian guards, is assigned to Feral House to help with the sheer number of dradens. And it doesn't stop when they finally have sex. Palmer's characters come alive for the reader and you are immersed in the world she has created.

I have been forced to read this series out of order due to library availability but it hasn't been a problem. Each book, while self-contained, is so very well written that previous occurrences referenced are explained just enough to keep the reader from being lost but not so much that fans of the series who are reading the books in order are bored.

I think this is my favorite of the series so far. I have books one and three to read and can't wait to do so. Fans of both paranormal romance and urban fantasy genres will enjoy this book and series.

When I saw this book dealt with Jag, I wondered how the author would make this character likable because up to this point he has been an ass, barely able to be controlled by Lyon.

I was glad to see that he didn't do an automatic change when he meet the girl. In fact he was such a bastard to her that I didn't think he would win her over. Of course Olivia had her own secrets, which made her more than a match for Jag.

I did find it interesting that the only way that Jag was able to start a sexual relationship with Olivia was through blackmail. I know that this had to eat at his male pride.

I do find it interesting that when there is a spiritual broken and damaged hero like this, to see them fall. You know it is going to happen, but they fight it the whole way. I also really liked that Olivia called Jag on his crap, to the point where she could pin point just what the issue was at the heart of the matter. I also liked how when her secret was revealed it was Jag that betrayed her, although he didn't mean to. Repercussions from that led to the final battle where everything was laid on the line.

It will be interesting to see where things go from there as not everyone made it through intact, and we learned a little bit more about what Kougar was hiding.

Warning: contains "Scottish" brogue and coerced sex by the hero.

It starts off by jabbing pointy objects into my ears... oh, sorry, that should be... it starts off in Romancelandia Scottish dialect. Fortunately, after the prologue that pretense is dropped.

The world-building is just as confusing as in previous books in the series (it's all blah blah cheesy blah to me), so I don't think it really matters whether you've read anything else in the series yet or not.

The story: also cheesy. I think I would have enjoyed it more, though, if Jag hadn't been such a total douchecanoe. Also, if you don't like rape/sexual blackmail fantasies, Jag and Olivia's relationship might be hard for you to stomach.

Yet another great book in the Feral Warriors series! I tell ya, I'm totally loving these books. This wasn't my favorite so far in the series like it was for a bunch of my book friends but it was still an awesome read/listen. Jag was an a$$ for a good portion of the book and that put me off a bit. Not that deep down Jag wasn't a good person but that part of him was majorly hidden.

Shapiro did an amazing job with the narration. The man is easily one of my top five male narrators. He does accents and he also changes voice patterns to differentiate the characters. His voice is super yummy!

I believe next up is Kougar. I'm looking forward to it!

My favorite so far. Up to this point, Jag has been a total jackass. At times, he even goes beyond being just a smartass. He is mean and hurtful, but everyone just takes it and makes excuses for him. It is nice to see how that all changes and where his loyalties lie. Hope this is a sign of what's to come in the next book.

I always have a blurb as part of my reviews at my site. This is my summary and to be honest the most important part of the review. if you wish to read the whole review you are welcome to visit my site at www.risquereviews.com Pamela book under shape-shifter.

Rapture Untamed is a perfect title for this book. There is nothing tame in this book, actually at times it’s even a bit disturbing. Pamela Palmer has taken a big chance in the direction she takes with the two main characters. Some may find it a bit offensive how Jag is portrayed, and is his treatment of Olivia; some will find they can’t turn the pages quick enough. I was at times both. “Jag” is a perfect name for the lead hero in this story, and not because his animal is a jaguar (if you get my drift). Throughout most of the story you are going to think of Jag as thoughtless, and vulgar, and believe me he is. However, as his character develops you will begin to see that this is a shield he uses to keep everyone from getting close to him. As to why, you are going to have to read the book. Olivia’s character is put between a rock and a hard place as she tries to deflect the attraction she feels for Jag. That attraction is going to be her downfall and her salvation.

If you have enjoyed the other books in this series you are going to be blown away with this one. This is one trip you are not going to want to miss, be prepared for volatile sex scenes, explosive action, and characters that are downright “feral”. I appalled that Pamela Palmer did not shy away in her portrayal of this story. She had to know that she was going to shock some of her readers, but also had to know there was no other way to write it. That takes courage

You know what I love in a romance novel? Sexual harassment followed by sexual blackmail. Because nothing says "ooooh, baby" like a guy talking about doing a girl in front of a bunch of people and then finding out a secret about said girl so she'll, you know, do him.

Oooooh, baby.

Look, I get what Palmer was trying to do. She wanted them to have this lust/hate thing where they want each other, but don't want to want each other... or something. Or maybe that's just on the female protagonist's end. Anyway, it's supposed to not make it rape because she really did want to have sex with him... it's just that it makes it so much easier when the guy takes away all of your choice so that you either A) have sex with him or B) die or get ostracized due to him blabbering your deeply damning secret.

Oooh, baby, that's right, tell me to suck your dick or else you'll get me killed or banished. Oh gods, yeah!

Look, lust/hate sex can be hot. And when I pushed away the facts of the beginning of the two characters... intermixing, it *was* kinda hot... but then I remembered the blackmail and felt entirely guilty for thinking anything of the sort.

Of course, then there's luuuurve talk and a boring sex scene of "love making" that is then instantly ruined (if it wasn't already ruined by "love making" scenes, by nature, being boring as hell) by the jackass male protagonist spilling her secret in an attack of anger. (Calling her a "life-sucking bitch" right after sex and it being overheard. This may or may not be worse than the time he used his "special Jaguar powers" to cause her not to have an orgasm as a way to punish her.)

Oh, and then the female protagonist gets kidnapped and has to be rescued. *Sighs loudly* She's a fighter, dammit. LET HER FIGHT AT THE END OF THE BOOK.

I had forgotten why I stopped listening the Feral Warriors Series, until this book. The individual plot and world created are unique and very interesting but the stories all ways get a little Rapey. This story however just went straight for the rape and tried to call it domination.

If I were to tell you a guy i know blacked mailed an unwilling woman into his bed, to strip, and allow him to touch her intimately that would be pretty unpalatable. Now lets add that when said guy touches said girl he is able to apply the equivalent of GHB directly to her body with his unwanted touches. So now the girl knows she doesn't want to have sex with the guy, but her body is painfully out of her control and she must "submit" to her attacker for relief. Sounds like Rape to me. The previous books had forced exhibitionism, and they all seem to include some level of verbal abuse to their future loves, but this one was just to much.

There are a lot of books that skirt the edge of dominance and assault. This book didn't even know were the edge was as indicated when the female character has been forced to trip and allow a man to touch her asks the man if he comfortable with rape and he responds with I'm going to make you beg for it. It was rape from the moment you blackmailed her to allow you to touch her. OH, and did i mention that she stabbed him in his previous attempts to touch her without her permission. So, no GHB hands aside she didn't want it.

I'd read a lot of reviews, even the ones with spoilers which i usually avoid, so i knew what i was getting into...at least i thought i did.

I guess i didn't read as many reviews as i should have. Hear that, Jag? Listen...that's the sound of my nether region drying up.

You know, there are some things i'm just not gonna try. Ever. That thing in my last spoiler, that should have been the end of this relationship because you know she's gonna wake up one day and...wish she hadn't woken up.

Why did the author ruin this for me?!?!? I've read books where the hero publicly embarrasses the heroine, and is an all-around jackass, but it didn't have to be like this. Then when he called her a "life-stealing bitch", i was like 'did he just call her a filthy little mudblood'?!!? And a bitch?...again. And this was near the end of the effin' book? I'm done.

My library didn’t have the first 3 books in the series, so I rescinded myself to reading the fourth first. I really don’t like doing that, but lo and behold, what should I discover after I was well into this one? My library had gotten the first books, so I was mad that I’d read this one out of order. And boy, was I lost. This author did not recap anything that had happened in the past, what exactly the Ferals were, their customs, how they had come to be together, or the significance of anything they did. I felt like I was coming into the story completely lost and nothing really made sense. It wouldn’t have hurt if there had been some explanations for those readers who had the misfortune of not reading the novels in order. I had no idea why Olivia and Jag thanked the goddess, like she was their God. I was wondering who this goddess was that they prayed to, and I’m still wondering after having gotten done with the book. That shouldn’t happen. I also didn’t understand the radiance ceremony, the history of it and how exactly the women’s healing powers worked. So I have to go back and start from the beginning and read in order so I’ll know what the heck is going on.

The first thing that struck me was the misspelled names. I couldn’t decide whether I liked it or not, it was just too reminiscent of J.R. Ward’s names in her Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I don’t know which one copied the other and I don’t care enough to look. There was Paenthar, Jag, Hawke, Kougar, Lyon, Wulfe, Tighe, Skye and Vhyper. It’s just whatever at this point. Then there was the crazy villain Satanan. There we go. Just take Satan and twist it around. If he came loose the world would be over and they had to stop him at all costs. It was just too doom and gloom, very dramatic and just like a cheap thriller, sci-fi movie. I like a little more seriousness than that, not something so corny and overdone. During the meeting, in front of everyone, Jag said to Olivia that he would “f*** her brains out when we’re not hunting Daemons,” and “I’ll learn best with you sucking my c***,” and “Sorry I won’t be joining you and your FBI mate, Stripes. I’ve been looking forward to that little threesome. Like I’ve said before, I’m happy to let you take her from the front while I take her in the rear.” That was appalling and so disgusting I just really disliked him right there, and didn’t think I would ever come to like him, and I didn’t. He stuck up for a flamingo woman, which literally came out of nowhere, and was just bizarre to me, but it made him “caring” because he wouldn’t let them tease the stupid bird lady. Dumb.

I was really thinking that their chemistry was good, because Olivia was having a physical reaction to her and Jag was staring at her and touching her to bring it out. He was so confident she would partner with him and they would sleep together. In the beginning I couldn’t wait to see where the story would go. I liked it so far and couldn’t put it down, and I was so ready to give it 3 stars.

And then it all started to fall apart.

The first time Jag saw her he came up to her touching her breast, asking her to come upstairs, because sex apparently heals them after battles or something like that. Wow, how disgusting.

Olivia stands around while the draden are biting Jag and almost killing him. She finally decides to intervene, outing herself as being draden-kissed. Jag is mad and disgusted, but concocts the plan to play it to his advantage. He coerces her into doing whatever he says, and having sex with him, and he’ll keep her secret in return. She agrees, because she’s into self-preservation and surviving. She doesn’t want to do it, but quickly gets caught up in the pleasures of his body. So it looks like she really wants it. I am so sick of authors having this borderline rape scenario, where it’s not sex with mutual consent, but it’s not exactly force. I just call it borderline rape, because it’s not the sex anyone would like to have, and it’s disgusting, and off-putting and just awful. There’s nothing romantic about force and entrapment. I’m crying foul on this one. Men having sex with women who don’t say no doesn’t mean it’s not rape. He still forced her into it, so my respect for this man was in the negatives. I’d never like him after this disgusting trick for sex, and I never did come to like him. And Olivia, well, I don’t have any respect for women that willingly sell their body. And all she had to say was that her pride is bruised but her body was sated. He’d been demanding and determined to have his way. Demanding and determined? Is that all you have to say, like it’s admirable that he wanted you so bad and he won out in the end? How pathetic. And FYI, just because you were physically satisfied doesn’t make it any better. In rape scenarios the woman’s body responds without her consent, it’s a physical reaction you can’t stop, so just because Jag can please a woman doesn’t mean there’s anything noble happening there.

The sexual nature of the Ferals and the Therians was just…disgusting. They had to have sex to heal themselves, they had to have sex to see things that were related to Mages or some such nonsense. And then you’ve got the man calling out to everyone that his female mate “is a go” after he just sexually stimulated her to get her to see a house in the woods. Gross. Then everyone is sleeping with everyone, which is disgusting. Jag had had hundreds of lovers over the years, mostly human, because he discovered a human girl at the age of 14 sleeping with a guy, and then went back to her the next day and had her show him the ropes. Then he got with every human girl that would lift her skirts for him. And he was having sex with a human girl in a barn when his mother walked in on them, and he didn’t stop. He pushes his mom away, and keeps on at it, just wanting to “get off.” And Olivia isn’t much better. She’s slept with every man that’s ever worked with her. And she’s slept with both of her guards, one of which loves her, and that was really awkward because she’s sleeping with Jag and both men know she is. It was a really twisted circle of everyone sleeping with everyone else and then being together with each other. Pretty awkward having the exes around.

Olivia can’t see the house in the woods because of some reason I can’t remember now. Oh that’s right, only Ferals can see through glamor or something, so she has to be sexually opened so to speak, because “sexual release opened the Therian mind to magic in ways nothing else could.” So with a disgruntled sigh, she tells him to make it quick. Wow, I’m so sick of her telling him to make it quick. It’s cheap, trashy and gross.

Then it’s just dropped like a bomb out of the clear blue sky that Olivia was a rape victim the first time, then a rape seeker as she let it happen over and over and over. This author really has a flare for the disgusting. I don’t like rape victims at all, and I steer clear of them like the plague. I don’t like the victim, emotionally and physically traumatized woman. And I especially don’t like when someone lets themselves be rape one by one as a whole camp of men uses them, because they think they deserve it. That brings up a level of mental instability I don’t even want to deal with. And rape is so awful that I can’t believe an author would have their character willingly seek it out many times. These characters are too screwed up for me to care about or have the tolerance for. And don’t even get me started on Jag, up one second, down the next, lashing out at everyone with crude suggestions and comments, and hurting people purposely because he has to punish himself. There again, don’t have the time or the patience for that.

Jag called her a bitch so many times there should have been a running count. It was ridiculous. He calls her that when she stabs him, sucks his energy, hits him, etc. And Olivia was always calling him a bastard, but went along with everything he wanted, because like he says, she’s his slave. She has her hands in his hair and he takes them out, saying you touch me only if I say you can touch me, slave. She’s disappointed that the warmth is gone but lets him position her how he wants her. Then she decides to fight him so she’s kicking his nose and beating his chest, while he calls her a bitch and she calls him a bastard. I was seriously getting sick of hearing that.

On page 283 he’s still verbally and emotionally abusing her, saying you draden-kissed, life-stealing bitch. Real nice. There’s 372 pages, and this late in the book they’re still having the same old problem. Now who’s going to believe the quick turn-around she’s going to have to have them do? Not me. You don’t spend almost 300 pages having the man be a class-A a**hole and then suddenly do a 360 in time for the cookie cutter happily ever after. Don’t start things you can’t finish. Olivia should’ve been much angrier with Jag and his treatment of her, but she kept coming back like a moth to a flame, or a glutton for punishment, neither one giving her any credit. I seriously couldn’t feel sorry for her because she put up with it. You can’t blame someone for treating you badly when you keep letting them mistreat you repeatedly. I’m all for a good tussle in the heat of the moment, a little struggle if you will, (thank you Mrs. and Mr. Smith) but as far as her beating him up, and him pushing her down and slinging her around, well, that’s not okay. Their relationship was so unhealthy and so toxic, on both their parts. Really nice that she can beat him up any time she wants. I’m all for a strong woman that can hold her own, but Olivia wasn’t strong, no matter how much the author tried to make her be. She was physically abusive, going off on him with no warning, and when there really was no call to hit him. It was just crazy, she’d just haul off and kick and hit him like a complete psycho.

Jag had been dealing with emotional crap since of the beginning of the book, and Olivia called him out on it, instantly recognizing why he lashed out at people. That’s the stem of all of their arguments. Olivia tried to get him to forgive himself and deal with it, and he cussed her out. Then fighting ensued. Like clockwork. After he accidently outs Olivia as a life-sucker, and some of the men are nearby and hear, she’s sent away and he realizes everything he lost. He finally lets himself really think back to that disgusting day when his mom tried to stop his sex, and just like that, realizes that he didn’t kill his mom. I kid you not. The whole novel revolves around his guilt with himself, and in one instant, he just remembers that day that happened hundreds of ago differently. The truth comes at him and he realizes he tried to help his mom, but she insisted they weren’t related to protect him so no one would think he was a witch too. And that accusation he saw in his mom’s eyes as she was tied to the stake and burned? Yeah, it turns out that wasn’t really accusation. She was trying to force him to run. She didn’t blame him at all, she just wanted him to live. She was a good mother and actually loved him. Just like that. Wow, it’s just absolutely astounding the things romance authors will do to patch things up. They literally pull things out of their butts.

Another thing that didn't set right with me was that I was realizing while reading that things were going by incredibly fast, but no time was passing. It was crazy. The entire book only spanned about 2 days, and I cannot stand when a whole book takes place over such a short amount of time. That isn't a book, that's a story. Almost 400 pages and the book doesn't even last a week. I need to feel like an actual story has taken place; I need to see growth and progression and a long journey between point A and point B. And then they just realize they both love each other--in 2 days. Wow. Just wow. Who's supposed to believe that this was a love story when they've been together for a couple of measly days? What a lousy attempt at a love story.

If you want a relationship where the man has literally called you a bitch too many times to count, then this is the book for you. And it wasn’t like Olivia was perfect either. She literally beat the crap out of him too many times to count too, kicking him in the face, causing his nose to bleed, and kicking him all over his body.

There’s nothing special about this book at all, and I think it’s because it’s a rip-off and I can’t really take to anything when I know it’s just the same run-down plot and the same idea being copied. I don’t like when authors jump on the bandwagon and do the same names, personalities, plots and ideas. It’s really pathetic. They’re all Christine Feehan knock-offs and now those knock-offs are copying each other, so the plots are really getting watered down. Lara Adrian’s Midnight series, J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood, and this series, are all the same. Her characters had the crazy names and all the volatile personalities of J.R. Ward’s men, with the concept of Christine Feehan’s Carpathians, added to the ceremony and cloak and dagger dramatics of Lara Adrian’s Midnight warriors.

**3.5 stars**

Even since the first book, I was really intrigued by Jag, the most original character in the whole series. You see, Jag is a jerk of monumental proportions who seems to delight in annoying his fellow warriors so much that most conversations turn into a fight. His latest? Repeated (and graphic) public requests for a threesome with a newly mated pair. Why would a man behave like this? I was really looking forward to finding out the reason in this book. And once I found out, it made complete sense to me.

Olivia belongs to an elite group of Therian fighters. The first time she meets Jag, he fondles her breast and asks her to go up to his room. (I told you he was a jerk.) But Olivia puts him in his place and since then, he’s strongly attracted to her. With his special brand of taunting and heckling, Jag gets himself partnered with Olivia for a hunt. Even though she doesn’t like him (who would?), she’s extremely attracted to him. While working with him, she can see glimpses of a better man who is constantly squashed by Jag’s jerk persona. But soon, Jag finds out Olivia’s big secret and Jag being Jag uses this knowledge to his advantage. He coerces Olivia to sex.

This is most objectionable part of the plot and I’m sure tons of people will have problems with it. I didn’t as much because a) it made sense given Jag’s character and b) she had to agree to the sex before he went through with it. In their culture, sex is used for pretty much everything: to open up the mind to magic, to cleanse themselves from a magic attack, in rituals, etc. so even Olivia didn’t think it was that big of a deal, although I recognize that she probably would have held up a lot longer before giving in if she had had the choice.

Olivia and Jag have a lot in common: something very similar happened in their lives that has caused them huge pain and guilt. This allows her to understand him a lot better than he realizes because unlike Jag, Olivia has found a way to deal with the past and she helps Jag do the same.

“It’s ok to fail sometimes. We all do. They key is trusting yourself to try to do the right things and forgiving yourself if you fall short on occasion.”

With this book, I realized why Rob Shapiro’s narration seemed a bit dreamy on occasion. Because he doesn’t use a neutral narrator voice for the 3rd person POV but uses the heroine’s voice when we see things from her POV and the hero’s voice when we see things from his. This is not bad in and of itself if it weren’t because of the volume, which is so much lower with the female POVs. I’m having problems hearing those parts no matter how high I have the volume on my phone.

I’m still enjoying some of these audios and getting them free from the library so for now, I’m continuing the series.

My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens.com.

This book isn't nearly as dark as book three was, but it is not flowers and butterflies either. Jag is a badass warrior with an even worse attitude. He is always sarcastic and often crude. He taunts Tighe's mate, Delaney, with what would be consider sexual harassment, if this was set in a normal office setting. He works hard to drive everyone away from him.

Olivia is another Therian that is part of a group of warriors, that while maybe not feral, are still elite. She is their leader of the group sent to assist the ferals in hunting the daemons that have been released. She is great at what she does. She also, isn't what she seems. Olivia has a secret, one that will get her executed if anyone figures out what she is. She is a danger to everyone around her if she loses control or chooses to do the wrong thing. It is a secret she has lived with her entire life.

This book doesn't have the big huge battles that the previous books have. That is not to say there are not battles, it just doesn't have the "big" battle that you are building up to in the end. This book seemed to focus more about the issues that the hero and heroine have (and there are plenty) and the romance between them. The sex is hot and rough, as you would expect from a tortured hero and a heroine who isn't afraid of him. This relationship starts off with lots of needling back and forth, but with Jag sees that Olivia can hold her own, he falls for her. Olivia makes Jag see things in himself that he has always covered up and really look at himself.

This is my favorite book of the series so far, even though Jag is a jerk. He has the tortured hero thing going for him. It is still a very dark story for PNR, but not as bad as the previous book. It would be more like what you would expect from a UF book.

Narration
I really enjoyed Shapiro in this book. Olivia has an on again, off again Scottish accent. He doesn't have the best female Scottish accent that I've ever heard, but it isn't bad. His ability to turn it on and off as her emotions take over is great. I think he had the timing just right for when she should have the accent and when she shouldn't.

I like to thank Tantor Audio for providing me with a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Bad Kitty

Jag is the Feral Warrior with bad attitude who is always stirring up trouble with his brother warriors. Olivia is not one of the elite shifting Ferals, but a Guardian for their magical race. Olivia becomes the target for Jag's nasty mouth when she and her team arrive to help the Feral Warriors to track down daemons preying on the local humans. Jag doesn't see Olivia as a fellow warrior, but as a potential bedmate - just another in a long string - but Olivia has a secret, a curse, but one which makes her more than capable of holding her own against their evil enemies.

I've really enjoyed the past Feral warrior stories, but I have to say that this one was really mixed for me. I love it when bad boys go good, but initially I had a hard time with Jag. He's a real jerk when he verbally harassed and embarrassed Olivia in front of their comrades and Jag was not above using any means - I'd say fair or foul, but it's mostly foul - to manipulate Olivia into his bed. And when he discovered Olivia's secret, Jag was quick to use the info as black mail to achieve that end. I found this initial hook-up between the pair to be somewhat disturbing, it came pretty close to crossing the line into forced sex and didn't make it there only because Olivia was still aroused by the coerced seduction and Jag didn't actually make the final move until Olivia - which I thought was out of character - begged. I also didn't like that Jag introduced something hurtful, or demeaning into almost all of the `love scenes' - including attempting to get Olivia to `do it' with him while he was furry. We're supposed to forgive Jag since his rejection of intimacy is a form of self punishment for the crime in his past, and because Olivia was perceptive enough to 'know' what he's doing, but it took Jag way past jerkdom and it made it exceedingly hard to root for his redemption.

Now for the good. The story does improve when Jag finally faces his past and realized that, instead of pushing Olivia away, he wanted to keep her forever. And though the transition from 'nasty' Jag to `good' Jag is a bit clunky -- the action packed ending and the redeemed Jag make the last third of the book pretty good. I also really enjoyed the setup for Kougar's book and cameos by past pairs were fun too.

This is my favorite book of the Feral Warrior series thus far. I like the story where the jerk is brought down, or in this case meets his match. Jag has been an ass from the beginning of the series. He has always instigated arguments and fights with his fellow warriors. He has given all of the other Warriors cruel and childish nicknames. He makes very harsh comments that are sexual in nature to Delaney. There has to be a reason he would behave this way. The readers are finally given his story. There is a reason he is the way he is and it’s not what I had expected going in to the book. The book picks up where Passion Untamed left off. The Warriors are seeking the three escaped Wraith Daemons and the Daemon blade. Lyon has enlisted the assistance of the Therian Guard.

I like what Jag gets with his female. Being the captain of her Guard team we know Olivia is tough and she obviously is thick skinned and able to handle the conflicts that being a female with a male job gives her. Olivia and Jag share an attraction from the beginning. She knows there is more to him and he is just too much of an ass to show it. She almost dislikes herself for the attraction, but she is done with the self-pity portion of her life. She doesn’t take anything that Jag throws at her. She may grab what he throws at her and throw it right back, but for the most part she handles him. Even when Jag comes into the knowledge of a secret from Olivia’s past he plays the role of the ass, but only partially. Olivia sees more to him than what he wants others to see.

This book is full of surprises and a cliff hanger at the end. I am very pleased that I have the next book sitting on my coffee table. I am eager to see what is going to happen next.

(there is some sex that some may see as not rape but perhaps a forced coercion, I read it as a dom & sub type encounter)

We finally learn why Jag is so sarcastic and antagonizing to, well everyone. He punishes himself for what happen centuries ago by driving everyone close to him away. That's until the fiery Olivia refuses to put up with his nonsense. Olivia isn't without her own demons. A secret that she has kept hidden for years could threatens her life if anyone found out. Guess who happen to stumble upon it? That's right, Jag and he is using it as leverage to finally get the close to the woman he wants more than anything.

This book was different from the previous in the Feral Warriors series. Before there seem to be a huge battle they were building up to or something really major happening. In Rapture Untamed the Ferals are trying to locate and destroy the Daemons that were created in the previous book but to me the main focus was put on Jag and Olivia and getting Jag to move on from the past. Olivia is a strong heroine and I commend her for standing toe to toe with Jag and taking him on. A weaker person may have crumbled at what he said but she found out why he's like the way he is and helps him move forward. The ending is bitter suit. Both finally get the happiness they deserve but the race to save two warriors is on. The ending was a great build up to the next book.

In all honesty, I had forgotten how good Rapture Untamed, Feral Warriors #4, was. I remember Jag and his bad attitude and sexiness, but I had forgotten how perfect he and Olivia were for each other. If there was anyone in the Feral Warriors world that could somewhat tame that smokin' hot, snarky Jaguar, it was Olivia. He needed a woman to put him in his place and in turn, they thrived as a couple. Also there was some unbelievably hot, angry sex involved. *fans self*

Rapture Untamed took the Feral Warriors is another direction, which I loved because it makes for great suspense and fantastic world building. If you are looking for a new-to-you paranormal romance series featuring shapeshifters and magic, you can't go wrong with Feral Warriors. Just know that as with most PNR and UF series, these books build off one another. Do not start mid series, you won't have a clue what's going on and that would be a damn shame.

On that note, Go Feral!

I loved this book. It is far the best book in the series. I liked the chemistry between Jag and Olivia. Their sex scenes are pretty intense involving some dominance /slave play. I would not recommend this book to anyone who is sensitive about this topic (sexual dominance). What I mean by "sensitive" is that if the reader has experienced some form of abuse with sex in specific then it would not be a good idea for him/her to read this novel.

By reading all books in this series, I had developed some dislike toward Jag due to his attitude and behavior. However, in behind of my head, I had a feeling that he was hurt badly. It turned out that I was right.

Also, I loved how Olivia was not one of those "dame in distress" and had to be rescued. She was a very tough woman and was able to stand her ground. It was inspiring to see strong woman in this novel (not that I am dismissing other female characters in the book--they all are wonderful characters).

I loved how Pamela Palmer kept me on my toes until very end.

Jag was a total asshat and ruined a good portion of this book for me. I get his emotional torture affected his personality but man oh man he was just rude and crude. Thankfully Olivia could handle him and held her own and then some. But when Jag learns Olivia's secret and blackmailed her into having sex with him indefinitely, I was so done. Rape is rape regardless! But I had to return since Olivia didn't have much of a problem with Jag or his issues. Thankfully he totally redeems himself by the end of the book but the first half is a little tough to get through especially if this topic is your hot spot.

Well its official. Jag would have to be my favourite feral so far. I knew this one was going to be good. He was always in the background of the other books with the smart ase comments. He did not let me down. Jag was funny as, sexy as and touching as. He and Olivia made a really good team fighting the Daemon/Draden/Mage. She feels his pain with the history she had growing up and is the only one who cracked his hard heart shell.

I loved this book and am giving it to my BFF nagging her to read quickly so we can share the tribulations that they went through and compare notes on the great love (or should I say sex) scenes in this book.

Onto the next!

I really love Pamela Palmer's Feral Warrior series and this one is as great as the rest. Oh hell yeah! Jag is such a witty and tormented soul. I love it! He is one sexy beast. I liked the dynamics between Olivia and Jag 100%. They are just my style. I can't wait to see what happens with this storyline and the next sexy shifter!

Jag such an arse, and I hate what he have done to Olivia, despite his tortured and tormented past. That's the reason why I give just 4 stars, even Feral Warriors is one of my favorite series, and I love Pamela Palmer's writing style (just forget the silly names of the Ferals :P)

At last he have the best cover at this series *snicker*...

By far my favorite of the series. I actually listened to the whole book without skipping any parts. I can't say the same for the first 3 books.

Jag was a total asshole. And there was a few moments where I hated him for the way he treated Olivia. If I didn't get his POV I would have hated him and I would have put the book down. I actually really liked him. Tortured souls are always some of my favorite heros. And Olivia was also pretty fantastic. She was a badass and didn't put up with Jag's shit.

I really liked the romance in this book. I honestly couldn't tell you about the demons and all the other crap that happened. I mean yes some demon shit went down. That's for sure but the romance was the focus of this book.

I actually have no desire to read the next book. Kougar does nothing for me and the little hints that we got about his story do not intrigue me at all. But Ill get to it eventually.
