What goes around comes around, right? Not sure that's a good thing when you're discussing dragons, but no one asked me. No one ever does.
And it doesn't really matter. Because my latest consultant, Colbin Eckart, is very much a dragon. He's also a repeat customer, having worked with Florry when she first became the Oracle. It can't be good that he's coming looking for help once more. Because what happens when you disappoint a dragon? I shudder to think.
Not to mention, the Morrigan is still here. Being a pain, as goddesses do. Oh, right, did I mention she was a goddess? Who can't be killed? Yeah, I got that going for me as well. But I have to do something, because she's not only threatening me, but my entire family.
My entire extended family. I'm now the guardian of two very sad, sometimes angry, little kids. And judging by some of the things they're saying to me, now that the initial shock of their new lives is over, I'd say they are leaning into the angry part.
Maybe I should just let the dragon eat me now? It might be easier.

Once again, I swear I was only gonna read a chapter or two but got swept up and finished it in one sitting. It's listed at just under 200 pages but it didn't seem that short.
Sometimes it seems like it would benefit from a little more detail but it doesn't really take away from the story like some other books. I suppose it's a fine line between adding just enough and adding too much.
I question how some of the storyline with the kids has played out (and will) but I choose to not think about it too much and just enjoy the story overall.
I don't read a lot of similar things so for me, Lisa has some pretty creative ideas that I haven't seen before. It's a nice change of pace.
At least we don't have to wait over a year for the next one! Maybe I'll run through all of them again before the next one's out.
Would I read again? Yes. If I haven't mentioned it before, it's a series I'm thinking about buying.
The latest installment in the series with Wynter, Logan and the rest of the eccentric ensemble was mostly a sweet story about how sometimes family is less about blood relations and more about who you choose to love. The new young kids begin to process what happened to their mother and start to grow relationships with Wynter, Caro and Logan. The dragon consultant also has family drama that adds to the overall theme of the story. The Morrigan continues to push the issue of trying to steal the Wild magic and must be dealt with, but the final interaction felt a bit flat and seemed to be handled just a bit too neatly. As always, Florry and Goldie are the comic relief and the voice of reason. I enjoy this series and love these characters but this one was a little thin on content for me.
Loved how Wynter is continuing to be one of the best Oracles ever as she keeps surprising all of her mentors. She keeps attracting more of those who want to steal her powers and do her harm. But along the way she seems to be getting help from unforeseen places or people.
Colbin’s further involvement with Wynter and her extended family was really interesting. I hope that we will see more of him and Chrissy. You got to love the new children in Wynter’s live, Sophie is really going to be a force to be recommend with when she matures. I just Nathan, who just lays it out there with no problem hitting the nail on the head.
I really cannot say more or I would be giving out spoilers and I am not going to do that. I really loved the ending.
I love Lisa Manifolds creativity! She rounds out her characters in an interesting way. The best parts of these books are the way she fights for giviness and accepts Natalie and her 2 precious kids into her and her older children's lives. It floored shit out of me about what happened to Natalie. What arush! Winter deserves awonderful hot man in her life like Logan (What afreakin dreamie name! Hey don't we all midlife hotties DESERVE some Fire in our bedroom?!🔥⚡️☄️ I know I Needs Me Sum! Bahaaahahaha
I finished this is just a few days...amazing to me because I have so much going on that most books take me over a week now. I have been reading this series for quite some time and it is very different from most things out there. HOwever, I feel like it is getting bogged down and she is running out of ideas. Its still good but its just so smooth, everything seems to work out maybe not the first time but shortly thereafter!!
Wynter, 45 and starting over again with two young children. She's also growing in her magic and preparing to fight the Morrigan who has caused so much tragedy.Meanwhile, her new consultant is a dragon who is searching for his is missing granddaughter. And you really don't want to mess with dragons.
I've enjoyed these books, they are entertaining fast reads. Like the author, I wish magic were real.
Aww what a mess Wynter gets in. She is such a hero and leader. I mean she gets so involved with the people whom come to her for help. Collin comes to her and helps her with her own issues regarding her own step kids. I love that she loves them so much. She protects all kids.
If you're reading book 9, there's a good chance you have read the whole series. The story continues and of course it's good. Enjoy the next adventure of Wynter and her family. Be warned it's really hard to put down or you will be reading at midnight:)
And she is one Bad Ass Oracle! I know that her stories won't go on forever, but I enjoy every one. She just gets better and better. Thank you for keeping the stories coming. You write'em and I'll read'em! brendaher1212@gmail.com
I love dragons so this was a fun read. Well behaved children in this day and age is so good to read about. This is a wonderful series and I have enjoyed all the books
