The writing of Emily Paget in 'The Weight of Missing' reminds me of the way Eva Cassidy can wrap you warmly in song. Emily has a lovely lyrical quality to her poetry in this collection, it lulls you into this beautiful world she creates with her words.
Somehow she can even turn something on the bleaker end of the spectrum beautiful with her word choice and second to none imagery. There is an air or elegance to every piece, a gentle captivation, a yearning which leaves you hanging on for the next piece.
It flows through light and dark, love and longing like the ebb and flow of a tide but always pulling you back in with hope.
I have read this book a number of times since its release and it is as beautiful with every read as it was the first time. This is a book for all poetry lovers.

A healing journey
Wow! I don't know what to say. It's a beautiful journey through so many emotions. Her emotive expression, selection of theme, the depth and sharpness of ber metaphors. Brilliant. A beautiful debut poetry collection from author Emily R. Paget, this book is a delightful read. Each poem is filled with emotion, and the wordplay is truly exquisite. Emily has a way of writing from her mind’s eye with a depth of creativity that is often poignant, yet always appealing. As a result, the imagery is stunning. Highly recommended.

I would say this is one of the best poetry books I have read in a long time. I have been following Emily on Instagram for a while and I enjoy all of her poetry.
I would say that she writes real emotive words and the poems flow lyrically.
This is a definite keeper on my bedside table and I know I will be rereading it soon.
I highly recommend this collection to any poetry lover, or for someone looking for a great book

Emily’s book, The Weight of Missing, is a breathtaking collection of poetry. The imagery and figurative devices she employs in each poem makes each poem gorgeous. Lovely book of poetry
I buy a few books of poetry a few times a month, and this book is now at the top of my very favorites list. I found myself really taking my time with each poem. Strong imagery and relatable feeling throughout. I recommend this one for sure!

I've been following Emily on Instagram since 2021. Her poems have always been evocative, vivid, and full of hope, much like her Instagram handle @life_and_light_poetry. When I saw that this brilliant contemporary poetess had released her book, I knew I had to add it to my collection.
If I had to describe this beautiful read in two words, it would be "embracing absence."
This poignant collection delicately takes you through the throes of longing, loss, dealing with absence, acceptance, and resilience. The final stanza demonstrates the power of embracing absence and coming forth into our own:
"So here I lie
With that fire
In my eyes
And I will not be put out
No matter how much
I am
Doused."

"I hurt in silence like the rain."
Hauntingly beautiful poetry of sadness & sorrow. I absolutely appreciate Paget's attention to detail & her sense of how to make words flow with such power. It was as if I - merely the reader - is there to feel her sadness right along with her.

I know Emily`s writing style from IG and her short poetry collection underlined her capacity of expressing deep feelings through her poetry. a deeply felt poetry book.
