What do you do when you’re Nowell Lewis and Brianne Green—the married couple behind the most iconic soul duo of the nineties—and a rumor about your past threatens to surface? Deflect the bad press by moving to the small town of Rivers under the guise of giving back to the community, of course.
However, Nowell and Brianne’s fourteen-year-old son, Toby, is tired of his parents’ hypocrisy and self-centeredness, and he’ll do just about anything to feel accepted. A little bad publicity might force his parents to notice him and make him some friends. His plan works (sort of), and soon he becomes friends with a group of local kids by unconventional, and often disastrous, means.
Luckily (for Nowell and Brianne, at least), their son’s escapades provide the perfect opportunity for them to stay in the spotlight they love so much.
But it’s only a matter of time before everything begins to fall apart.
E.P. Lane is a certified poet, paperback writer, and occasional creator of smut who lives in Washington (the state!) with his (ex) wife, two-year-old daughter, stepdog, and best friend (it’s quite the full house). His books are the culmination of him earning an English Degree at Louisiana Tech. While you marinate on that, he’s slowly going blind from writing the rough draft for his next book. If you blink, you’ll miss him, so please keep your eyes on him at all times. He’ll appreciate the attention and support.
