I’ve been David’s wife for six years and in a heartbeat, I become the other woman.
It’s a normal day for me, seeing off my husband and children to work and school. If I had known that it would be the last time I’d be David’s wife, I’d have done things differently.
Thirty minutes after my perfect family walk out of the door, I get the call that every parent dreads. My husband and two children have been in a car accident.
An hour after my beloved family walk out of the door, I get the news that no wife wants to hear. There was another woman in the car.
Twelve hours after my family is shattered, I get the news that every wife secretly dreads. My husband has been keeping secrets. Secrets that will break our family and send me scurrying in different directions, desperate for answers.
This is a story of trust, identity and finding renewed hope even after heartbreak.
This book had potential but lost something along the way. It was disappointing that there was not climatic confrontations between the main characters and the main male and the "other" woman. The location where clarity returns was really disappointing. Everything was rushed at the end. The reason for the other wife could have been so much better. But there should have been a bit of grovelling from the main male character since the author chose to have him act less than admiral. He didn't have to be a jackass with choices. The author could have made him still hold his character while having flaws but these were some pretty big flaws that weren't necessary. I know authors what characters to be real but most people would really second guess their connection with someone who did these things. THAT is real.
What started out as a riveting tale quickly became one dimensional. Timeline was weird, why David didn’t do what he should have was appalling and Catherine’s attitude at the end bordered on being a doormat I am all for saving something worthwhile but that was waaay too easy.
I enjoyed this book. I read some of the reviews and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That being said I felt like some reviews were harsh. Were there problems with this story yes. You could tell though the author poured her heart into it. I, myself, felt like the other marriage could have been explained better. All I can say is I read for escape. I love reading. Before we are too critical remember most of us, especially me, could not write a book. I can't write a complete sentence most of the time. Just be a little more gracious.
Kept waiting for there to be a real story here but it didn’t happen. The one that was there was often confusing - the author starts talking about things and then introduces them later.he starts talking about angels daughters before he tells she had kids. Bizarre
It's a good plot, but I didn't like the lack of common sense in some of the characters. I won't spoil it, but I'll have more respect for myself and will ask more questions because at the end all the blame was put in the first wife?
