A cheerful professional house sitter. A solitary bachelor.
Natasha anticipated a dull summer spent pet-sitting koi fish, but fate had other plans. Enter Nick, the drop-dead gorgeous photographer next door. When a power outage leaves her in need, Natasha turns to Nick for more than just supplies. And boy, does he deliver. Sparks fly, clothes come off, and before she knows it, Natasha is having the hottest summer of her life.
Will Natasha choose love or her job? Spoiler alert: Nick's abs might help her decide.

After reading Our Scorching Summer, I couldn't wait to read Coastal Fling. And it was as good as it sounded.
Nat and Nick's story is definitely hot but heart-warming at the same time. Nick is really straightforward and relentless. I love when he falls first, and that was the case in this spicy novella.
“Bet you wish you could’ve taken a photo of that.” I glance up at him, planting a small kiss on his jaw. “I don’t need photographs to remember precisely how breathtaking you were tonight.”
And we got to read the original balcony scene! My expectations were met about that scene, oof.
I devoured this. Natasha is house sitting, feeding koi fish and singing to plants and watching the gorgeous neighbor, Nick from afar. One storm changes all of that, in SO many ways. Natasha decides to give in to Nick, let go and have some fun. Who doesn’t love a good fling right? The way Nick speaks to her? The way he plans things for her? So. Good.
3.75 ⭐ I had to read this after reading Our Scorching Summer. It was a nice, conflict-free romance. I ignored every red flag and just enjoyed the ride. It's the perfect read when your brain fog is drowning you but you still want to read and get wrapped up in a cute little story. Insta-love & all that jazz. I loved Charlie's character when he was briefly mentioned + the koi. Top tier characters especially when she had a conversation with them.
This novella is absolutely perfect for fans of Lee Jacquot and Eliza McClane. It’s the perfect blend of hot and sweet. He’s a photographer who likes to get down and dirty and she’s the house-sitter next door who’s been watching him get it on. The kicker is he’s been watching her right back. My personal selling point? He bakes.
This was a fantastic read. The two main characters have so much chemistry. They melted my kindle! I want more from this author for sure. She needs to write more!
this was such a cool concept I love reading this knowing it was written by lily from our scorching summer which is written by kels and denise, such an immersive experience. I recommend reading it when it is first mentioned in our scorching summer it will give even more experience, especially in the last half of OSS
for the book itself it’s an harlequin-feel-like book which I dig. it’s short, spicy and cute. it’s also instalove but it didn’t bothered me bc it perfectly translated all the feelings you got while living a summer fling
if you need a spicy short HEA summer story give this novella a try. it’s a fun time to have and the writing is so raw and unfiltered it feels like you are listening to a friend telling you about her spicy time with her hot summer vacation neighbour!
I was looking for a quick little spicy summer themed novella to read as a palette cleanser from my regular novels and this was a cute choice actually.
I found it randomly offered on KU and it has some very cute and quirky elements that make it a good read. It’s well paced and mainly takes place in about 5-7 days.
I loved the descriptions of the house that Nat is house sitting. It was so weird, and different I almost wanted more and more of it throughout. I also thought Nat’s job title was pretty unique and aligned well with Nicks’s job and lifestyle.
There were some moments that weren’t as well laid out and organized. Like the wildly sudden shift between her arousal and fear of being led into a basement? Saying she had boundaries in her head and then doing the opposite… it took me a while to get on board with that photography session because I kept waiting for him to hold her against her will because of how many times she said that. (He doesn’t, he ends up being super respectful but that made it creepy.)
Onto the smut, I was expecting some super explicit erotica, it was 🌶️🌶️🌶️ /5 chilis that way too. It didn’t happen that much and detailed but still pretty vanilla and the plot was more than just the spice. It was good though. The drive in movie theatre scene 🥵 and the balcony scene was 🔥.
It just also felt really out of place and sudden when another random side bang for Nick, for no good reasons given, just completely switches into ultimate boyfriend mode. Both characters just had these light switch moments with no context and it was out of place.
It was quick and enjoyable overall, just be willing to gloss over some of the details that don’t fully make sense. That said I would recommend it, just not my favorite. 💕
This marks the second novella I've read and I devoured it like it was nothing. This was absolutely astounding. What a man.
Okay, so, Nat is house sitting, feeding koi fish and spying on her hot photographer next-door neighbor as he brings in women of all types, devours them out in the open for her to see and then sends them on their merry way. Days turn to weeks and when Nat finally gets caught, it marks the start of their relationship.
I loved the portrayal of Nick being in his element and letting his life's work bleed into his everyday life. He's a photographer so of course he has a sexy dungeon/studio. Of course, he's taken all types of images before and has a select set on display in every room. Of course he offers to take a couple of shots of Nat because he's stunned by her beauty (spoiler: she lets him) and and and. I feel we see and experience so much of Nick through his work that Nat house sitting for a living with no apparent desire for anything else makes her come across as bland.
Granted, this is not the book to scrutinise and fuss over, but this is her story, and for Nick to overpower her so effortlessly is unfortunate. He should've been the main POV.
I rate this 3.w5 maybe 3.5 stars I enjoyed this story overall it was a cute fun fast read and I think I liked this one more than the other by this author just a little bit more think we got more in depth with the characters at least a little do kinda wish we got a little bit more but it's alright also didn't love some small aspects like how one of the people were at the beginning sort of wasn't my favorite but I guess they got better but it was confusing because they said something but still was doing that but it's okay I know some people enjoy characters like that and I don't hate it but it's not my favorite and sometimes people do it wrong and this I'm not sure I'd it was wrong or not but sismt love it but overall enjoyed it do kinda wish some parts were slower but guess they didn't have long at the time so it's alright

*Whew* That was spicy! But also so quirky. Natasha and Nick are both fiercely independent and their "meet cute" is both scandalous and hilarious. I loved reading their continued banter - add in the little cameos from Charlie (the obviously eccentric millionaire she is house sitting for) and it will keep you giggling in between spicy scenes. And things DEFINITELY get spicy between Nick and Nat. This is the perfect summer beach read - or anytime, really. I loved using it as a palate cleanser after a particularly hectic week. The plot was straight forward, no angsty breakups, interesting and funny. So much fun!

Summer fling mixed in with an idyllic location does make for a sweaty and sexy read. Coastal Fing does not disappoint in this matter, be it the story, albeit simple but enjoyable, or the hotness. What really won the book for me where Nat and Nick, both characters that are likeable and keep things exciting.
3.5⭐️ just an easy book filled with very slight plot. very entertaining. the FMC was funny and such a baddie. the MMC was legitimately adorable but hot all at once i want him.
yes, the dialogue was the kind you would cringe and want to die if heard out loud, but hey, it was all vibes and summer shenanigans!
the photoshoot scene🫠🫣😩🧎🏻♀️🧎🏻♀️🧎🏻♀️🧎🏻♀️

This is a spicy summer Novella! Nick and Charlie are both jetsetters, but one week as beach house neighbors and they decide maybe the lonely jet set life isn’t for them anymore!
Nat and Nick's story was equally sweet and heartwarming as it was spicy and tantalizing. It gives slight girl next door, summer romance, but also he falls first and worships her. So it's a great compilation of a variety of tropes. I loved every word of it.
3.5 stars. obviously it moved pretty fast, it was 100 pages. but it was cute. insta lust and love. but it also showed their relationship grow a little so that was nice too. and hello, it's been more than 1 year since I read Our Scorching Summer so this read was long overdue.
