DNF at 33%! Okay, let me explain! This story just took the biggest turn of them all. So the first story started of with the MMC hating the FMC. And the second one started of with him completely changing his opinion about her, based on her injury’s and suddenly he has developed feelings for her. And the FMC also immediately trusts the MMC even though he put her through hell and together with her brother completely gaslighted her. I was expecting more from the FMC since the MMC treated her so bad, but noooo. They are all lovey dovey now and I feel like I’m reading a completely different story now. To be frank, it was boring as hell! So no, I did not manage to finish this one!

this book was superrrr wholesome from the pov of raf and noelle’s relationship😭🫶🏼✨

raf went from trying to kill his girl to worshipping the floor she walked on🛐🛐🛐

"You're mine, pretty girl," I say as I swipe my tongue over her lips. "No one else can see you like this."

"You're so good to me, Raf," she sighs as she nestles in my embrace, and I get a small pang of conscience for my behavior and everything I've put her through. She's become so used to people treating her badly that the smallest act of kindness has her in awe with me. "I'm not," I tell her, "but I will be."

"I've never seen a more beautiful woman, Noelle," I rasp, blowing hot air over her breast. "You're so fucking hot, pretty girl. I could come from the sight of you like this alone."

michele and zia though???
i cried i legit cried and HATEDDD michele sooo much like wtf man what is up with youuuu🫠🫠
though i’m pretty sure there’s a backstory there i am not “rooting” for them rn🙄💀💀

"Why do you enjoy hurting me so much?"
"Because I enjoy hurting myself," the words were out of his mouth before he could help himself. His eyes widened. Hers did too.

bitch whattt, ya’ll need therapyyy

here’s to hoping michele gets his head out of his ass and starts treating zia like the queen she is😭😭😭

SAFETY
(minor spoilers for the series)

Raf: virgin (has been r*ped by a man in the past)
Noelle: has only ever sex with her ex husband who we later on get to know had multiple times forced himself on her
Michele: virgin (been r*ped as a child by)
Zia: virgin

Arc received for an honest review

She did it again. She keeps doing it.At this point I am so intrigued by how the Guerra brothers war will turn out that even if they didn't have interesting significant others, I'd still be tunned in, but I am also glad the Guerra boys so's are AMAZING WOMEN. I am also looking forward to pet putting Michele in his place...We were in for a ride with this one as everyone knows it. I have a theory about Noelle and I cannot wait to confirm it, I kind of know it already, but still. Reading will be FANTASTIC. What I love about Veronica's characters is that they are not black and white, there are no innocents, they are villains, they suffered and they will make everyone pay for it, even they loved ones, it's dark, it's sad, it's messy, and i IS also beautiful. Also love Vlad and Sisi interacting with Raf and Noelle, hope to see more of this partnership in the future. I JUST CANNOT WAIT TO HAVE ALL OF THE GUERRA SERIES IN MY HANDS. THAT IS IT. READ IT Y'ALL. And ALWAYS check the trigger warnings.

Didn’t like how the mmc was like: oh she didn’t do what I think she did, I now have prove (medical record) so regardless that she told me before and I didn’t believe her, I can be nice to her now and I’m gonna do everything to protect her. Also how he viewed her after: OMG she had trauma in her past, that poor girl she is so fragile/ small/ pure (didn’t like his description of her). But the mfc is on whole another level. I mean “he was an absolute a..hole and treated me like shit but god he is so hot okey I’m gonna forgive you”? Girl what the f*ck

The Foiled Plan

Okay, okay, wow, I had to take a few days to gather my thoughts. This book got so much darker than the first one, and I was so hooked! The character development between Noelle and Rafe was done so well with Rafe constantly doing the best he could for Noelle. Noelle was such a strong character despite what she'd gone through in the past and has stayed so strong. I just want the best for her.

We also get to see more of Michele which makes you both hate him and also hope he changes for the better, so I'm looking forward to that development of him, especially because of how twisted he is as well as his actions which just makes him irredeemable, but I'm desperate okay.

This whole story is so beautifully done, as it shows all the dark and desperate ways each character struggles to make the best out of their circumstances. I just want Noelle and Rafe to reveal all their secrets to each other so they can be happy, but alas.

Also, I absolutely love the covers for this series. I can't wait until I can get them all!

Please read the trigger warnings as this book does get DARK.

5/5 🌟 🤩

Absolutely not.
What in the world did i just read! I thought i would get some satisfaction from it bc I didn’t get any from the first book but the only things that i got was disgust and anger. So, so many red flag! First of all how can she immediately trust the man who put her through hell just bc he act nice and good towards her or how the heck he start developing feelings for her after a thousand attempts to kill her?
Why he just for the love of God tell her he loves her? The only time he Told her was when he found out her voice is the voice that he thought is the girl who died in the accident? I mean if it weren’t for her voice i think he would never said those three words.
Every time i read any characters in books that lies just want me rip their head off.
Or when she got flashbacks about her killing two persons that she decides that she is a completely different person and she has to act like that from now on.
God help me, when i read Michele’s pov all i felt was disgusted. I wanted to throw up right there.
I mean in a ball room were he committed a massacre? On top of the bodies?
Feeding your girlfriend her abortive child? 🤮
And still he acts like he has some feeling for the girl?
I hate her girl so much he walks and screams red flag and she goes and say “i love you so much I would die for you.” Girl i hope you die in the next book.
I am only ganna read the next book cause i wanna now about there past that all and see if they have any happily ever after.

Thank you so much to Veronica Lancet and her team for the Arc.

A continuation of the story of Noelle and Rafaelo. This book has lots of clues from both characters' pasts and it really gets more and more interesting. This romance is very dark and grim but that's what made me fall in love with this book and the characters.

Author Veronica Lancet is such a wonderful writer and she has such a rich imagination. That the reader reading the pages will be immersed in this dark story. She is my queen of dark romance that she writes incredibly.

Noelle is not as innocent as we thought she was a very important character. Both Noelle and Rafe keep secrets from each other and at the same time fall in love with each other. It's a whirlwind of emotions and the reader knowing their inner thoughts it's a dark story as we begin to unravel what everyone has been through. There are many moments in the book where I just wanted to cry and it was just an emotional explosion.

i have to defend myself and my sudden taste in trashy, poorly written, and darkly disgusting books. theoretically, these books could be much better; they are no masterpieces, the characters are not even loveable, and every interaction seems to make no sense. it could be better written and feels like a wattpad story everyone has read in their teenage years, and that is precisely why i am obsessed with this series.

i physically cannot stop reading these books, and it has gone to a level that i binge book after book without even stopping; that has never happened before in my life because i always have to read different books and cannot read books of a series back to back. however, this series reminds me of my questionable and morally black taste in stories and, especially, men in my teenage years. wattpad has formed my inner demons for these kinds of books.

let us talk about the characters because they are not loveable. you won't empathise with them, and they worsen over time. so, for the love of god, do not start this series if you need loveable and moral characters. the characters are not even morally grey; they are black and evil. but oh, how alluring and complex they are. i could not get enough of their cruel and nasty actions and thoughts, and i feel myself immersed in them. i want to study their brains, dissect them, and make sense of everything that has happened in this book because it is true: the story does not make that much sense, and the book has gaps and grammatical errors, which you must know to be ready to overlook everything if you want an enjoyable ride.

this book contains plot twists over plot twists, and it never once gets boring despite its (unnecessary) thickness. i devoured the twists and could not get enough of them. sometimes, the characters made no sense, and the plot had so many subtopics that i needed more clarification than the author was ready to give, but it was still worth it. it is so much drama, so much cruelty, but also so much love and affection and human nature with all its mistakes in its purest form.

to conclude my confusing and questionable review, this book must be revised, and i am aware of that. i also understand every terrible review and opinion of this series, but it does not stop me from being obsessed with this story and the characters. i feel awful for liking these books so much, but whatever. i admit that i am in a problematic era with bad book taste.

The continuation of Noelle and Rafaelo’s story. This book has a lot of unraveling from both characters past. It’s dark. Really dark.

Author Veronica Lancet has such beautiful writing and her way with words, the storyline grips you from page to page. When you may think of one character, the twists give you a whole new look on each and every single character in the story.
Noelle isn’t as innocent as we thought. Both Noelle and Raf are keeping secrets from one another while also falling in love with eachother. It’s a whirlwind of emotions and as the reader, knowing their inner thoughts… it’s a dark storyline when we start to unravel what everyone has gone though.

Then we have Michelle. Raf’s brother who is the most irredeemable character I’ve ever read about. He’s truly psychotic and terrifying. He crosses every possible line of fucked up you can think of.
I was rooting for him until he hit my one and only trigger.

Trigger Warning🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

Forced abortion.

🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

Yup. This story is has major dark and triggering elements.

Murder
Human sacrifice
Rape on page
Torture
Dark cult shit
Etc.

- Noelle is slowing gaining her memories back and holy moly …. She’s realizing that she’s everything she never thought she could be. And not in a good way.

This series is beyond amazing. So many layers to the plot. It’s dark and twisted. Angsty. Spicy as hell. It hits all the feels. The good and bad. The sweet and depraved.

I literally can’t wait for the third book. Yay for being an early reader! 😈

OMFG! If you can’t handle pitch-black or darker stories, you will not be able to stomach this one! Everything is definitely getting darker, gorier, bloodier, more violent and so fucking twisted that I never know what to expect with each chapter I read. I laughed a little, fell more in love with some characters but I screamed a whole hell of a lot more over the numerous WTF moments that kept creeping out of the woodwork! This is only book 2 and I have no fucking clue where everything is going at this point.

There are so many layers to this story that when one gets peeled back there are 10 other layers waiting to just pop up and smack us in the face. And the secrets and betrayals happening, OMG, I can’t keep track of who I should route for and who I should hate because at this point my mind is all messed up over everything being revealed.

I love Noelle and Rafaelo but damn these two have some demons in their pasts that are slowly seeping out, and hell bent on destroying them both. Will there be any kind of happy ending for them? I have no freaking clue right now and definitely not with the way things a precariously hanging on the edge!

And Michele - WOW - talk about villains, he is one hell of a genius villain who has put years of planning into motion.

Michele is one cold, angry, violent and utterly devious man. I was not prepared for how far he would go when he gets into one of his moods. He is completely and utterly unhinged and there is no doubt in my mind that he had split his psyche into more than one person. I honestly love his character and just how devious and diabolical he is.

This was another brilliantly written book in this phenomenal series. This amazing author is so freaking cunning in her writing that with every chapter my mind is blown and my emotions are all over the place. I have many theories but they get blown up with every book. Also, these characters are not sweet and fluffy, nor black or white. They are all villains of some sort and they all have demons that are chasing them and at some point some of them will be redeemable, just not all of them.

I can’t wait to see how explosive the next part of the story is!

I was so disappointed with the turn this took. The plot didn’t make any sense, all of the seeds of tension that were sewed in book 1 were never fulfilled in book 2, and the twist at the end I saw coming since the very beginning of book 1.

Also TW for major ableism and pedophilia/grooming. The ick is real.

Look, I think me and Miss Lancet don't get along.

I don't like the writing style, it's long and dispersive and I don't get the point where we're going with the story.

I did not like Raf's sudden chance of behavior, it was really unnatural, even finding out about Noelle's past, after all you subjected that poor girl, in the piano room and in the club, you can't tell me you did not saw what was on her body, you simply can't.
And even if you found out about her abuse you still do not know what happened to Lucero (btw isn't it a boy's name? idk investigate later.) since you held Noelle responsible for all the torture she suffered idk I could have excused him if after "the lighbulb moment" at the hospital was still skeptical and thorn about Noelle, from there, it could have been a possible GRADUAL character development, for both of them.
It's fucked up and at the end it does not add up.

Michele, hunny, you deranged, FOR WATTT
what did he go through?? what happened to him? bc he was a little bullied as a child???
Name someone in this book who wasn't.
His middle name is revenge but unjustified.

ah, also he pulled a Taylor from The Bold and the Beautiful and came back from the dead.

They’ve both been through a lot and Michele is an interesting villian. It felt a little boring in the middle with all the miscommunication and secrets. I was so annoyed with Raf’s reluctance with love, didn’t really get that.

It dragged a little and I’m intrigued to see how it can continue for another 3 books…

Lancet is definitely the queen of the Dark

I am very glad that I had the opportunity to read the book in advance. Thanks to Lancet and her team for this opportunity.

After the end of the first part, I wanted to know the continuation so much and so I was able to enjoy the book and the characters.

It seems to me that with each part I fall more and more in love with the characters and their relationships.

It was interesting to read how they go through a lot and how with each page they completely take my heart.

Noelle is a poor little thing that I wanted to hug throughout the book. It 's hard to understand how she went through everything that was in her past

It was nice that the book had more chapters from Brother Raf

I advise all fans of dark books to start reading this series immediately , I am looking forward to the third part

The book is just amazing ! The plot is very good and complex like all mafia books must be. It's not your typical mafia plot but something much more dark and unhinged! No one is the hero here. Everyone is complex and has their fair share of sins. This book had angst, love, self acceptance, The last few chapters were the toughest, my heart was breaking for all of them. Raf and Noelle aren't who they seem to be and there are so many puzzles that are still left to unravel. Raf goes from hating to being obsessed with her and willing to die for her. Same goes for Noelle she is coming out of her shell.

I was literally screaming and happy to see Marcello & Catalina, Vlad & Assisi. OMG VLAD AND SISI have my heart, their cameos have my heart.

AND now we have our majesty MICHELE MF GUERRA! The things he did to Zia were breaking my heart, IK he has a very bad and traumatic past but his actions were unforgivable. HE HAS TO GROVEL ALL HIS LIFE TO WIN ZIA back.

I just wanna say that the first book of this series was ABSOLUTELY fucking incredible. Why? BECAUSE IT WAS ACTUALLY ABOUT RAF AND NOELLE. the amount of Michele’s pov that was in this book was just unnecessary imo. Like I started reading this series SPECIFICALLY for the love between RAF and NOELLE. RAF. NOELLE. DO U SEE MICHELE IN THERE?? NO. NO YOU DO NOT. The first I’d say 200 pages of the book was amazing bc it was focused on raf repairing his relationship & views of Noelle. Which…PERFECTION. like I’d give up to page 200 a solid 3.5-4 stars. But then more and more Michele was added, and personally I didn’t like that. And I knew this series was dark when I got into it, BUT I NEVER SIGNED UP FOR MICHELE RAPING AND DATING AND ABUSING AN ALMOST UNDERAGE GIRL. WHICH BTW WAS HIS COUSN??? VENEZIA. I will say that the only reason I gave this book 2 stars instead of 1 is bc I WAS NOT expecting the plot twist of Venezia being his “lover” (IK there were hints leading up to it which makes it even better. For example when Venezia was introduced she ran away from the gathering she was holding her stomach and was ab to throw up like that was just a huge hint that I never picked up on - idk it might’ve been obvious to other people but to me I found it rly surprising when everything was revealed and I liked the hints leading up to the reveal). BUT WHAT IS FEEDING SOMEONE THEIR OWN ABORTED BABY???? I mean they were cousins so the baby would probably be sick to some capacity, and the fact Michele had to go and be obsessed and kind of love? In a sick and twisted and toxic and weird way? HIS COUSIN. ew. Also did this book really need a cult? Like come on this book was already so unnecessarily long and fucking hard to get through (I wanted to DNF so many times but I already wasted fucking hours reading it I just might as well finish it - AND I SEE WHAT THE AUTHOR IS TRYING TO DO WITH THE CLIFFHANGERS, which I think is a rly cheap way to get people to read the rest of the series of your books. But I mean I did fall for it so, kudos I guess. BUT I WILL N O T BE READING THE THIRD BOOK BC IM FUCKING DONE.) honestly I think that this book is an injustice to the first one bc the first one was soooo good. At least it was balanced between Michele chapters and Noelle & raf chapters. Also I CANT end this review without saying this- I hate Cisco & yuyu. Like their characters are just so… intolerable. I understand that one can love their wife so fucking much, but to the extent of risking ur sisters life for her? Idk. Not very attractive to me. But what do I know. Overall. I’m sorry but I just couldn’t like this book.

This book is messed up. I've read some dark books, but none like this. The main bad guy makes his "pet" eat her aborted baby. Like, come on. That's too far. I will put up with a lot of dark shit, but that's a huge nope. I already knew the guy was 50 shades of pyscho. Didn't need that added visual. Skip this book on that alone.

If that's not enough, I have a hell of a lot more. First off, the absolute 180 that Raf did is unacceptable. He finally learns the truth of what Noelle endures, and now he loves and cherishes her. No, fuck you dude! She tried on multiple occasions to tell you the truth, and you just continued to ignore her and make her life a bigger hell than she was already living. You don't get to come and be all lovey dovey without any groveling.

If that's not gross enough, Noelle instantly trusted him and accepted him because he was being nice to her. Without any evidence that he had actually made changes or actual apologies, she just was like he's great and awesome and hot. I forgive and trust this man. Not just no, that's a hell no. Girl, do better. I love my FMC to be strong and take no crap. Not doormats who accept anything. Her trauma was awful, and she was strong enough to survive it, yet couldn't make a man actually work for your forgiveness. That just shows me that she's weak willed and not someone I'm willing to read about anymore.

Her family sucks too. I can get over bad characters and some of the messed up shit if the writing was decent. It wasn't. It was a lot of flowery repetitive writing for no reason. This book could have easily been 300 pages like the first book. The added POV from Michele was unnecessary. Yes, his pov added some context to what was going on, but he had way too many compared to the FMC and MMC. He ended up having more of a voice than Noelle or Raf.

As much as I wanted to like the book based on some aspects from book 1, I just couldn't get over the negatives in this story.

☆ 5/5 & 3/5 spice

Please check TW/CW before reading this book!

“She's my very own ray of sunshine, and I'd vowed to myself that I would protect and cherish her at all costs.”

“You can be yourself with me,” I bring her hand to my mouth for a kiss. “I won’t judge you for anything pretty girl.”

I am at a loss for words. Veronica outdone herself once again. I thought that this second book was much darker than the first. I was so captivated with the continuation of Raf and Noelle’s storyline and their character development.

In The Foiled Plan, we get to see a softer side to Raf. Raf realizes his true feelings for Noelle and treats her with so much respect, care, and gives her all of his love. I had such a hard time liking Raf’s character in book 1 with the way he acted towards Noelle, but in this book.. oh my, I am seriously here for it. The groveling that he does to win her trust got me feeling all sorts of emotions too. Both Noelle and Raf got to know each other more deeply by understanding each other’s past and they come to the realization that they’re both putting in effort to make their marriage work.

Now that things are unraveling and Noelle’s starting to remember some of the things that’s happened, have me on the edge of my seat. I was also very intrigued with Michele and Zia’s story. I’m excited to see what’s in store for those two. I was going through a whirlwind of emotions reading this book. The Foiled Plan answered so many questions that I had, I am looking forward to the next book in this series!
