Nothing unfamiliar or profound in this book. It's really a "how to" guide for managers who might be new to the coaching style of management. Pretty much everything lines up with everything else I've read about "best" (what should be standard) practices of leading people. Nothing surprising, rather bland in that sense, unless you've never been taught any of this.
I guess it's typical for this "briefcase" series, but I found that there were too many "sidebars/boxes" that contained tips and reminders etc. There was nearly one, sometimes several, on each page and that really distracted and interrupted the flow of reading. Not a fan. Felt like a cheap way of adding content without integrating it into the text -- like notes from the editor.
