The first four titles in the popular Canterwood Crest series are now available as an eBook boxed set.
In Take the Reins , Sasha Silver and her thoroughbred, Charm, arrive on the campus of elite Canterwood Crest Academy. Sasha knows immediately that she's not in her home town anymore. Surrounded by the trappings of privilege, Sasha feels inadequate. But she's determined to prove to others--and herself--that she isn’t just a big fish rider from a small town. She belongs on the Canterwood equestrian team—after all, she was recruited. But it turns out that her talent might be harder to prove then she thought.
In Chasing Blue, Sasha and Charm have proven that they're worthy competitors for any girl on the elite Canterwood Crest equestrian team. Now Sasha must prove herself again when she finds out that she'll be working with her arch-nemesis, Queen Bee Heather, on the advanced riding team to win their school the blue ribbon-- first place-- in the national competition. Will Sasha and Heather be able to put their differences aside and work together to put Canterwood Equestrian on the map?
In Behind the Bit, Sasha and her team have been accepted to the Mr. Conner's prestigious clinic, on campus over mid-winter break. Even better, they find out that scouts from the Youth Equestrian National Team will be there looking for new members. But, to make it the girls must work together as team--which might be hard to do given the state of the "team"...
In Triple Fault , Sasha has had it. First, Heather pretends to date Sasha’s boyfriend behind her back, just to mess with her. Strike One. Then, Callie cops an attitude because a guy she has a crush on starts crushing on Sasha. Strike Two. Add to that a former BFF who steals your boyfriend? Strike. Three.

This series was a childhood favorite of mine! Looking back, it's pretty terrible. But I loved it as a kid and it made me appreciate books more, so that's what matters!
this is actually a re-read of this series (and book specifically). as a preteen, I adored these books so I picked it up for a sense of nostalgia. I'd say, though, if I did not have any personal connection to these books, I would not enjoy them at the age of 16. They are written for a younger audience, ex. preteens, and that's perfectly fine. I still loved reading it at 16 though, because it reminded me of my preteen years and just was like coming back home to meeting all the characters again.
Sue me, I loved these books in middle school. That's a lie. I still love these books. Horses? Check. Middle school drama that seems a little too refined for 12-year-olds? check.
Canterwood crest is one of my most favorite horse series. My mom used to read these books to me as a bedtime story. It really brought out the love of horses in me. Now I still ride and help out at my local horse barn.
super, super good book series!!! I love Sasha Silver. she has such a good personality and a great sense of humour. in the 1st book, take the reins, it was announced that Sasha Silver was excepted onto the advanced riding program, as well as Heather Fox, Julia Myer, Alison Robb, and Sashas best friend, Callie Harper. Sashas roomie, Paige, is a clean freak and was up since 5 am on the first day of parents weekend. shortly after parents weekend, the tryouts for the advanced team began. Sasha was a mess and tried to cover it up when a super cute boy, Jacob, asked her out for ice cream after their film class together. this is such a good book and I totally recommend it for ages 9 and up.

I read this whole series when I was in 4th/5th grade, and I absolutely loved it. It was what got me into reading in the first place. It’s quite age appropriate for middle schoolers and late elementary school-aged children. If you love horses and drama, you won’t be bored.
It is a pretty quick read outlining the journey of seventh grader, Sasha Silver, enrolling in her new boarding school Canterwood Crest, and the highs and lows of her first year. I’d say it’s a great book for a tween reader who is also into horses!
This is def my comfort book series. It’s so, so good. I first read it when I was in 3rd grade, I’m now in college and continue to re read the entire series about once a year. I think I will continue to do so through my entire life honestly. It’s hard to describe how much I love this series. Jessica Burkhart is a great writer, and I love all the characters and CCA. This literally made me almost go to boarding school lol. The series has lots of books yet never gets boring. I wish there were more!!!
I loved this whole series it gets more interesting dramatic and intense in each book after each chapter it makes me want to read more. I love/hate the cliff hanger endings because if you have to wait a while for the next one to come out it really sucks right now I'm waiting for number 17 or 18 I think I still really enjoy the books with Lauren towers in them but I miss Sasha and charm and all the other girls too. And to all who didn't know there is a new book coming out or maybe its out already but its about jasmine king!!
These books are so overrated. I see them everywhere. The entire collection in almost every bookstore on display! At first they seem very intriguing. A book based on a horse riding academy sounds amazing. But when you start reading it it’s more like a preteens diary than a book. I wanted the whole collection but I’m glad I only got the first one.
I read this book years ago, n then just recently I read it n I find that all it is all about cute boys etc drama and a little touch of horses. The only reason I tried it cause I like horses. Nothing interesting. 12 year-old girls, seriously all they do is go on dates n horse evil girl drama.
