Three wishes. A lot of trouble...

Maya

After a four month trial period as an intern, I’m determined to get a position at the top analytics company in New York. All I have to do is knock this final report out of the park. It’s all going well until my drool worthy coworker asks me out.

On my first date.

Ever.

Somehow my natural aptitude in the art of awkwardness has failed to repel him. My focus has gone down the toilet, and I’m succumbing to his charms.

S.O.S. I’m sinking fast.

When did my dreams shift from becoming a senior analyst to kissing this guy?

Nash
Making bets with coworkers is a bad idea. Losing them is an even worse one.

Now I have to grant the wishes of an office intern like some kind of genie. It doesn’t help that I’ve been attracted to her for months or that this wager has me breaking my don’t-date-coworkers policy.

As an acquisitions team member, it's my job to win over new clients. Now all I can focus on is winning her, even if she likes pineapple on her pizza.

But I can handle this. It’s only three wishes. What could possibly go wrong?

I said this before but I really wanted to drive this point home. I don't normally read this kind of book, my go-to reads are urban fantasy and high fantasy. I love this book so much. I enjoy romance in my books but I find romantic comedies sometimes lacking or just not catching my interest. The internal thoughts of Maya and how her brain works felt real, felt like things I would say or do, and had me laughing. I actually had secondhand embarrassment for this poor woman at times. And it was great! And Nash, he finds himself in a crappy situation and is doing the best he can to not make this event something truly despicable. I loved the date idea that they did and even replicated it with my best friend and kids and had great pictures from it. Towards the end when the truth of what is going on comes out, I liked that Maya was justifiably upset but had a realistic approach to how she handled it and how she was willing to listen to Nash. And that Nash was willing to do what he needed to make it right for Maya and not right for him. Also, the ending is so very satisfying. This is definitely something I will reread.

Please add this book to the top of your tbr list and read it when it comes out on 4/27! It’s SO fun!

Maya is such a good character. She’s relatable and down to earth and so funny! I loved watching her fall in love and try to figure out what to do with the feelings.

Nash is just dreamy. He’s charming and funny and likes to support a good cause. What more could you want?

The banter and the awkward situations/conversations are TOO GOOD! And can we talk about the whole “snowed in together” trope? Can’t get enough of it!

Overall, just read this book. You won’t regret it!

Thank you to the author for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

A good mix of humor, romance, and even a little mystery. It had me laughing out loud and slapping a hand over my eyes during all of the second-hand embarrassment. Nash and Maya are both a little awkward, Maya especially so, but they work so well together and it was a fun read to go on all of their adventures.

This book is perfection!

Wonderfully written, the book is equal parts romance and equal parts comedy. (Subtle hint: Don't read it in public, because you will laugh reading this book).

The characters were great and their chemistry seemed so natural and Nash is oh such a big green flag (except well the bet, but the bet is the reason for the book......).

Highly recommended for all Rom-com fans!

I haven't read many Romcom's, I found most had a few chuckle moments but nothing exceptional, until THIS book! Oh my word was it funny! No, funny isn't the correct term, hysterical is more appropriate. I have never laughed out loud more than with this book, I even had tears sliding down my cheeks. I didn't realise how much I needed this book, my soul needed this book. I wouldn't and couldn't un-glue myself from reading, going so far as to impatiently wave off any who dared interrupt me. And it's not only the laughs that kept me riveted, the plot, the fabulous storytelling and the oh so sweet romance, everything and I do mean EVERYTHING about this book had me good and solid.

Now, to elaborate... Maya's the type of character you can't help loving, a dedicated worker, fighting to make a name for herself in the firm she's interning at, she has a fierce crush on the resident playboy, Presley, who's a real asshat, no, he really is. He's one of those co-workers who usurps, who steal ideas and do the bare minimum and definitely not a team player. Enter Nash, well ok, he was there all the time but he's sweet, unassuming and gentle, you know the type, blends into the environment, the"nice" office guy. And HE'S got a crush on Maya...yeah, can you see the triangle happening? Well this triangle has very unexpected surprises, nope, not going to tell you lest I spoil it for you. What I can tell you is this, there's a battle to the death with the printer, no, I kid you not, that printer is pure evil! There's a bet, there's underhanded dealing, and did I mention incredible fun? A certain dinner date comes to mind and you'll be rolling on the floor when you get to it. There's misunderstanding, there's the sweetest romance, there's a really klutzy MC, aka Maya, there's secrets, SO MANY LAUGHS and storytelling that's compelling, immersive, highly entertaining and a joy to read.

So, if you like awesome characters, tight, well processed plots, fabulous pacing, exuberant uncontrollable laughing and a romance one can only dream of, you gotta read this book! Well done Ms Lossee, well done!

If there is anything that She's All That should have taught us it's that it is a bad idea to start dating someone because of a bet... well, unless it leads to a happily ever after anyway!

Brooke J. Losee is a new to me author, so I wasn't sure what to expect but I was drawn into this story immediately. Being someone who is socially awkward, a bit naïve and who frequently talks to machines (particularly my own arch nemesis of a printer), I could definitely relate to Maya in many ways. Thankfully, I have better control of what comes out of my mouth than Maya, but I so enjoyed the funny moments her lack of filter led to. And let me tell you, this book was funny. So many moments throughout had me literally laughing out loud, and I couldn't get enough of it. These two characters were so wonderful together. The chemistry was fantastic, but I also loved how supportive they were of each other, even when it wasn't in their own best interest to do so.

The taco lover in me naturally appreciated the taco love this book gave too... but you may find yourself in need of some as you read, so be prepared!

Overall, this was a really fun romantic comedy perfect for fans of workplace romances. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!

**I received an ARC for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

This was an absolute blast to read! The story centers around Maya, a fabulously awkward intern at a top analytics company in New York, and her handsome coworker, Nash. After losing a bet at work, Nash is secretly tasked with granting Maya's wishes, no matter how ridiculous they may be. Their banter had me in stitches, and their slow-burning romance had me flipping through those pages like nobody's business. Maya's relatable awkwardness and Nash's charming persistence made them both utterly lovable. Loved this book and can't wait to read more from this author!

You Wish by Brooke J. Losee is a romantic comedy about Maya, an earnest and slightly awkward analytics intern in New York, and Nash, a charismatic acquisitions team member who finds himself making a wager that he must grant Maya three wishes, only to discover that what he really wants might be much closer to his heart than any bet could have predicted. Their journey from awkward first interactions to slow, sweet connection is full of humor, charm, and gentle self-discovery.

Right from the start I was drawn into Maya’s world: she is so wonderfully human in her mixture of confidence in her career ambitions and hesitance around romance that I laughed out loud at her internal monologue and found myself rooting for her every step of the way. Nash is equally endearing; he begins with rules about not dating coworkers but quickly learns that his heart has other ideas as he navigates flirting, wishes, and his own tender vulnerability.

What stood out to me most was the way the author handled their chemistry not as an instant, magical connection but as something that grows and deepens through shared experiences, witty banter, and honest moments about fears and hopes. The New York setting felt vibrant without overwhelming the story, giving this romance a cozy urban backdrop that always kept me smiling.

There were moments that made me burst out laughing with secondhand embarrassment alongside Maya and moments that warmed my heart as Nash’s sincerity shone through.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars. I’m giving You Wish this rating because it is a romcom that left me feeling lighter and happier, reveling in emotional growth, delightful characters, and the kind of love that feels like friendship with a spark.

If you’re on the hunt to add a lighthearted, fun, witty and quick read this is the one! I’ve been in a somewhat reading slump for the last several months or…so I thought until this book pulled me right out of it. It dropped on my lap at the perfect time! I’m the type to hate starting new books. You might be asking yourself, isn’t that what we all are supposed to do whenever we read book? Yes, you are not wrong and don’t get me wrong I love diving into a new book, a new story..a whole new world. It’s the “breaking the spine” part of it that takes me a bit while I get familiar with the characters, the backstory, the plot but You Wish pushed me right in. I was giggling like a teenage girl texting her crush after school while trying to do homework. Now onto the nitty gritty, shall we?

This story follows Maya, quirky, smart and funny heroine who is trying to navigate both her personal and professional life at the firm she’s dreamed of for so long. Meanwhile, Presley the coworker who all the girls swoon for at this firm happens to make a bet with Nash, our sweet love interest. He has Nash ask Maya on a date and make 3 of her wishes come true. Between doing what’s right and wrong, Nash finds himself stuck while trying to navigate this sticky messy situation, and sorting the feelings he has for Maya that grow stronger with each passing day. It doesn’t take long though for him to realize the answer to his biggest question has been right in front of him all along.

I love that it’s dual POV because I got to see both of their perspectives and what they were feeling throughout as the story developed. I also loved that it was a fast paced book and easy to get to know all of the characters from the get go. Side note, can I emphasize that Nash is a literal sweetheart? I probably throw that around with every romance book I read but I’ve gotten lucky as of lately and found more to add to my long list of book boyfriends lol I completely fell in love with the entire book and I’ll be feeling the withdrawals kicking in pretty soon! No regrets though as it was an amazing read!

A workplace genie
Three wishes
And no falling in love
How hard could it be?

Maya Lancaster has sworn off men, but from afar and devoted herself to numbers. As an intern at a top analytics company her dreams of making a senior analyst may coming sooner than imagined. That is until she is asked out to dinner.

No big deal it is her first date ever and the guy is the perfect gentleman. Things have always turned out to be too good to be true for Maya and this will probably be the same.

Nash Lachlan has admired Maya from afar, due to his personal no dating coworkers rule. However, that all changes when he loses a wager and has to grant her three wishes without her knowing. His hesitant about this whole deal, but he has never not been a man of his word. So he asks her to dinner?

But it seems his heart has other plans. And Maya's innocence is quickly melting his defenses. How come the perfect girl for him always seems to be in to someone else?

As defenses fall and Nash and Maya get to know each other better, they can't help falling hard and fast. But when challenges arise will they fight for a future together and chase their dreams of the past apart?

I absolutely adored these characters and the easy flow of the story. It held my attention and kept me hooked till the end. The cast of characters were great and I look forward to seeing more of them in the future. Mrs. Losee, please say that we do. The romance was sweet steam and the language G rated, which was perfect for me. I feel any one who is looking for a fun new take on a office place romcom will enjoy this. Highly recommend it!!!

My rating: ⭐️⭐️💫

In preparation for our trip to NYC to visit family for the week, I wanted to read a book based in NYC and that's how I ended up here.

Take an innocent, inexperienced, doesn't-know-she's-hot, numbers brainiac who has the potential to become a senior analyst at the firm she's at, add a bet/game thought of by a pompous nepo baby for funsies, to be fullfilled by the sweet, down to earth guy who unknowingly fell into the trap, goes through with it anyway, and ends up falling for the FMC.

What could go wrong?!

You end up anticipating the crash and burn because when have bets or games ever been a good idea? Haven't we learned from books, shows, and/or movies, time and time again, that someone always gets hurt? 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸? 𝗡𝗢! It reminds me a lot of the movie "She's All That" and I grew up watching/liking that movie so sap/cringe isn't new to me. The bullying theme gets old but it is an unfortunate reality. I was ready to throw hands for my girl!

Overall, this book fell short for me. I liked the slow burn and 𝙏𝙃𝙀👏 𝙍𝙀𝘿𝙀𝙈𝙋𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉👏---Omg that was satisfying! BUT! There were some dull parts throughout the book that just didn't captivate me.

Read if you like:
🗽 slow burn
🗽 romcom
🗽 he falls first
🗽 dual POV
🗽 redemption
🗽 NYC setting
🗽 socially awkward

Warm ,clean love story.
Absolutely lovely story about young data analist and her first proper love experience.

Here we have Maya -sweet,strong but somewhat naive woman with bad love experience ,pulled in a dating scheme. I won't tell you more , don't want to spoil your fun :).Relations between Maya and Nash are likie a warm blanket thrown over you, giving all the warm and fuzzy feelings.
It is so nice to be able to find a book which can talk about love and passion in a clean and satisfying way, so thank you for that BJL :) .
If i'm being honest I wasn't sure that after all that heavy reading i have been doing recently I'll get to appriciate "You wish",but to my surprise i have really enjoyed that reading experince.
What's more on numerous occasions I have caught myself smirking or openly smiling and giggling while reading about Maya's antics.

Overall it is a wonderful sweet, clean romance which makes you feel warm and happy inside ;)
Absolutely lovely experience from my point of view.

I'm sending my thanks to the author for sharing ARC copy of the book with me and for letting me be a part of Maya's and Nash'a journey.

Job well done BJL :)

This was cute, lots of fun, and heartwarming. I had a great time.

Maya was *a bit* too awkward, maybe. To the point where sometimes I questioned why a grown man would be drawn to her, but overall, I liked both the main leads. I wish her relationship with her dad had been fleshed out more so that her motivations held more weight. It’s also annoying when characters constantly bring up their exes in every situation. Like, we get it. They were butt-awful. And the other MC isn’t. Groundbreaking.

Anyone else waiting for Maya to be like, “Am I a bet? Am I a f***ing bet?” in honor of her soul sister Laney Boggs? Was that just me?

I did genuinely laugh out loud several times. Smiles throughout.
Thanks for the good time, Brooke!

Also, Nash 🥹 love me a man who knows how to dress, wow.

This is an absolute gem of a romantic comedy!

Not usually my genre but I can and will read every book in this series that comes out because wow!

Maya is a brilliant if naive young analytics consultant who hasn't ever had a date before. Nash is a more experienced, even a little cynical, analyst who feels like he's forgotten how to connect properly with people. When Nash is dared by a colleague to grant three wishes to Maya, his work bonus is at stake. But after their first few encounters, they start to bond.

I can't get over how cute Maya and Nash are as a couple, and the shenanigans they get up to are wild and sweet in equal measure.

Couldn't recommend this book enough!

this is a super cute book. Maya is a person with a lack of confidence due to a few experiences in her life, super focused on her work. Nash is charming, super easygoing, but who has a rule about not getting involved with co-workers. They end up finding in each other what they need to grow. I loved the story, the adventures that happen to Maya end up bringing a lot of humor to the book. This is a perfect romance. When you find the right person everything makes more sense and what you thought was most important sometimes ends up becoming secondary.

Hilarious!

This book was WAAAAY more fun than I anticipated. The author did a great job with both her plot and her main characters. They were likeable, relatable, and their dialogue literally made me laugh out loud. And I'm talking literally the way God and Webster intended - actually and factually. The author far surpassed my expectations of a rom-com novel. If you are looking for a fun read, I definitely recommend this book.

Super cute "Rom-Com" that gave me "She's All That" vibes but in an office setting not a high school. It's very light and fluffy with a picture perfect ending leading to book 2 that comes out soon! It's a nice little filler between "heavier", deep books for sure.
