I enjoyed reading this story.

This is a novella length story with a brother’s best friend / best friend’s younger sister trope. There isn’t a lot of time for character development and it’s pretty much an insta-love story, but I don’t mind those the way that some people do.

Caleb is sort of estranged from his father but is coming back to see him at Christmastime. His car breaks down so he seeks shelter at the B&B now run by his best friend’s little sister. Lucy has been crushing on Caleb since forever and welcomes into her B&B.

The story moves along at a good pace and there’s a nice amount of sexy time. There’s also a brief appearance from a Morgan Ranch character which was fun. There were a couple of characters introduced in this story that I can envision getting their own book at some point and I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.

A review copy was provided by the publisher via NetGalley but this did not influence my opinion or rating of the book.

I read and reviewed this story when it was in the Christmas Eve Cowboy anthology.

Great Short Christmas book

Caleb is coming home burnt out from working so hard when his truck breaks down. With everything in town shut up tightly due to a snow storm & his phone dead, he’s forced to go to the B&B. There he finds his best friend’s sister, only she’s no longer the little girl who used to follow him everywhere.
Lucy has loved Caleb since they were children. When the power goes out, they must cuddle for warmth. With the power still out, he is forced to call for a ride from home. There he comes face to face with the father who he thought didn’t want him around any more. Can Caleb & his dad make peace; can Caleb & Lucy continue what they found at the B&B & will it last? Will Caleb finally find the peace he is searching for or will he return to his fast-paced lifestyle?
Coming Home for Christmas is a very quick read to help get you in the spirit of the holidays.

I loved it 10 stars!

This was such a good book! So true to life but with a wonderful happy ever after. She had loved him forever since she followed him and her older brother around when she was little. She was running her grandmothers B & B and his truck broke down in a snowstorm in front of it. Everything was closed but the B&B. I can’t tell you more you will have to buy the book to find out what happened. I highly recommend this book. Kate Pearce is a really talented author.

Lovely feel good short story! I quite enjoyed the family dynamic and values, upheld by the strength of the characters who kept to their own course and views in spite of the difficulties ahead.

Funny and serious, but it all comes together beautifully!

Definitely recommend this to read!

This novella sets up Kate's new series Three Cowboys that came out in December and was released in Christmas Eve Cowboy anthology. This was a fun read about an estranged son going home reluctantly at Christmas and gets way more than he anticipated. Caleb Erickson gets stranded in town late one night when his truck breaks down. No one knows he's coming home at Christmas. The only lights on in town are at the bed and breakfast, so he knocks to see if he can charge his phone. He gets a surprise when Lucy Smith, his old best friend's annoying little sister, now all grown up, cheerfully answers. He ends up spending the night. When the power goes out he finds Lucy freaked out and not wanting to be alone. Little does Caleb realize Lucy has had a crush on him FOREVER. Caleb left town at eighteen to go to Stanford and started a company in Seattle that's about to go public. He's been micromanaging it earning a severe case of burnout. One thing leads to another and he and Lucy have to look at their life choices and make changes. I loved that Kate brought into the story Chase Morgan from her Morgan Ranch series.

I originally voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book and I now own a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
