Notes for Joyce

Rate this book
The purpose of this volume is to clarify the obscurities in Joyce's first two important works, the book of short stories called Dubliners and his first novel, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, by providing explanatory notes carefully keyed to the American editions of both. The introduction explains how the notes are to be used, and provides a chronology of Irish history. A map of central Dublin is included in the final pages.
