If you are hurting, healing, feeling, letting someone go, or starting a new chapter and learning to open your heart back up again, this book was meant to find you when you needed it most. This Was Meant To Find You (When You Needed It Most) is Charlotte Freeman’s second book and was written to resonate deeply with the ones who seek comfort in reading the right words at the right time. It’s for the ones who are learning what it means to choose yourself a little more each day and be gentle with yourself through all phases of your journey.
I have just binge-read almost every page in this book at 4am in the morning when I was doubting my self-worth. Even though I knew most already in my heart, reading the words on a physical page making it real brought me to tears on multiple occasions. I haven’t completely read the entire book yet as I know I didn’t need to “hear” some pages at this moment in time, but I know they will be there for me when I do. <3
It's not the deepest poetry you'll find out there. You may find similar quotes on Pinterest. It is however the sweetest reminder for the darkest days. The words are simple but hit home. I needed this, thank you Charlotte.
Fav quotes :
"They may not be worth your tears—but you are. Your feelings are worth validating and your hurt is worth recognizing."
"Because what a beautiful moment it is when you realize that your heart is capable of healing again even after it has been broken"
"It may feel like closure is impossible to find one day, then there it is, the very next day, appearing out of nowhere. [...] Also remember that sometimes closure finds you simply in the way of moving forward, without explanations, without all the answers, and it’s still just as beautiful."
"If you’re feeling unsure about whether or not you can trust someone, the best person to trust is yourself"
"Because life is meant to be lived, life is meant to be felt, the pleasure, the pain and everything in-between."
"Never apologize for how much you feel, for how much you hurt, for how much you love."
"Nothing in life is promised and sometimes even the things that you were so sure you were destined for can fall apart in your hands."
This was okay for me. It was tough to get through the whole book though. I chose this book based on the title and there were messages that resonated with me, but it is the same few messages over and over. Also since this was listed as poetry, I thought it would be something I would enjoy. This was similar to another book that was listed as poetry, but neither was the "poetry" I was looking for. It is a lot of short statements, quotes, and ideas. It is like scrolling through 200 meme quotes on Facebook. Sure we all get pulled in by them here and there, but 200 pages was a bit much.
I really wanted to love this but didn’t. Like some of the other reviews said, the content is very repetitive and feels surface level. Basically tells you over + over again that it’s ok to feel what you’re feeling and not to let your validation come from others.
There were a handful of poems I enjoyed but the rest were very basic.
I make an effort to purchase books by those on Instagram whose content resonates with me. Most I enjoy, but some, like this one, fall flat. This one feels like it was just a series of collected Instagram posts, rather than a cohesive book of poetry like I thought it would be.
I suppose one might find comfort consuming this as daily entries, as it definitely doesn’t feel like it’s meant to be read altogether.
To me, it just felt like disjointed platitudes and like it was thrown together haphazardly. It is also quite juvenile, so perhaps it was meant to appeal more to a younger audience. I could see a high schooler getting a lot more out of this than fully fledged adults.
I ordered this book as soon as I saw a video of one of its pages on booktok thinking it was going to have a lesson to teach but by the fourth page my reading was done. All of its pages are just little random reassurance messages that don’t really help you with anything. the title seemed “wow” to me until i felt like all of the contents were messages i would send to my friend if she was crying so she doesn’t feel like a piece of crap. if you’re doubting yourself and you just want reassurance from a book, go ahead.
Definitely needed this book. It’s really encouraging if you’re going through a time of hurt/confusion and want clarity and encouragement. It has paragraphs on different topics too, so it’s not super long. This makes it nice if you need something to read quickly daily.
'And then all of a sudden without even realizing every single sacrifice you have ever made and every single set back along the way began to make sense.' --perseverance
If you picked up this book to find an epiphany, I personally think you will find it. Many in depth poems with deep meaning to each.
I expected more from the description and the reviews, but it lacked substance. The messages, marketed as "poetry", were basic, stereotypical, and seemed more like a Pinterest album rather than a book in its own right.
Alright yes I definitely needed this like right now. How she reached into the depths of my soul and said everything I needed to hear right now is beyond me.
I didn’t expect the layout of the book. It was very much quotes and brief paragraphs. Nonetheless, a few pages hit home for me. Felt like many gentle reminders for myself.
In my 28 years of life, I've never regretted any step I took because I believe each one led me to where I am today. However, finding the right words to express this feeling eluded me until I read this book, which has a part 'As You Grow.' It helped me define the comfort I feel now—enjoying my own company as much as others'.
The realization hit hard: no one but myself can guide me to where I want to be. This sentiment was reinforced by the book, affirming my earlier statement. Charlotte, thank you for providing solace through your words and books. I believe your journey is appreciated by me and many others.
I've read so many self-help, personal development style books over the years...and sometimes, you just want them to get to the point. This is why I enjoyed this book more than I expected.
It is a light, easy read that doesn't go into great depth (maybe the author is assuming this isn't your first personal development book and therefore doesn't need too) so it is short, sweet and direct.
Cathartic read , some of these books appeal to you depending on which life stage or life event are you witnessing . It may seem like a bunch of quotes or words which strike a chord. Not as impactful as Brianna Wiest however I would recommend it’s read one page at a time - read it , masticate , ruminate and discard what you don’t like , digest what you do ! Four star read for me !
Beautifully written. This helps me deal with everything that questions my self-worth. Thank you for writing such a good book. I cried so much about this. I could just relate to every word. Truly, healing takes time. Just trust the process. We'll be okay, maybe not today but someday somehow.
„Ask yourself what you want your life to look like. Close your eyes and try to picture yourself living your happiest life, to the highest potential. Notice what surrounds you, who surrounds you. Notice what you have and what you bravely left behind to get to this place of peace. Now think about the present moment and ask yourself if the life you are living now will eventually lead you to the life you were just imagining for yourself. And if the answer is no, ask yourself what you could do differently.“
„One person can hurt you so much that you never want to love again, one person can treat your heart so poorly that you decide it’s easier to not feel love at all. One person can destroy too much. The thing is, one person does not define your worth, one person does not define how you deserve to be treated or loved, one person does not define how you love others. One person does not get to hold this much power over your heart, one person does not get to hold this much power over your future“

Another book from Charlotte Freeman just like her previous book "Everything You’ll Ever Need: You Can Find Within Yourself” that I bought last year and still I can relate to this year (now) I just read it over again. This book has many sweet short encouragement messages and still for me, it’s a one to keep because even before I go to the next page, I’d open the previous page just so I don’t want to finish this book already bcause I feel like this book fits my situation at the moment. Thank youCharlottefor making this book!
The needs to be healed from the past hurt and letting someone go, that I highly recommend this book for those who’s ready to move forward and Love yourself again, prioritize yourself first again. (9,5 / 10)
