HOTEL ADVENTURES WITH THE STARS. "Hotel Adventures" here refer to fun, thrilling, heart- warming & engrossing encounters of the author, L. Aruna Dhir who is a recognized International Hospitality Writer, compiled in the memoir. "The Stars" refer to the celebrities.
We get to relish 27 such incidents/ chapters in this 230+ page Pandora's box, which are engaging, engrossing, fast paced and definitely tickle our funny bone in the process. The cover is vivid and in peppy colour scheme which is both eye catching and captivating, since we start to recognize the stars on the cover and try to decipher what exactly are they doing. The smiles on everybody's face on the cover bring forth positivity and build a light, cheerful mood to start with the Book.
As soon as we open the book, we are bombarded with rave reviews by celebrities like Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Dr. Kiran Bedi, Jackie Shroff and the likes. This builds a huge benchmark for the book to cross over.
The titles of the chapters capture our attention and it lingers as we process what we just read and try to unravel as to what the chapters may hold. If you have any inclination to know the real persona of celebrities majorly Bollywood stars, then this light read will sure elevate your state of mind. I would like to mention, don't take the chapter titles literally as the meaning becomes more clear after reading the content they hold. There is a twist.

On the sad part, I also lost my Pa when I was almost 9. So it reminded me of my loss too.
For me, the witty writing style, the voracious vocabulary stood out the most in the book. Special mention for amazing editing of this manuscript. The Foreword by dear Ruskin Bond was priceless. I totally recommend this read for a light laugh & having a sneak peek into the life of the stars. It felt like listening to the author narrate anecdotes, unfolding waves of nostalgia from her memory bed. Priceless!

Hotel Adventures With The Stars is a memoir of the author. Meeting the stars in real life is really a great experience and the author has so many such experiences that are more of a kind for their fans.
The Author's work in the hotel industry provides a platform for interactions with stars from fields such as sports, art, music and also Hollywood, adding an international flavor to her enthralling tale.
While the memoir highlights the glitz and glamour of celebrity encounters. The book also offers a glimpse into the human side of these famous personalities. Reading Aruna’s effortless and engrossing narrative, I see how human they are and how their lives are far removed from the high pedestal we put them on. Aruna's ability to depict the vulnerability, warmth, and humility of these stars are commendable.
This book took me to the world of glamour (film industry). I felt as if I was talking to the stars themselves.
Through this book you'll get to know behind the shining faces, they are still ordinary individuals capable of forming genuine connections.

Along with this, the author speaks about her own story in between the pages & her views on that particular star & whatnot.
The book is of course very well structured as you'll get the idea from its creatively heavy cover & star-studded reviews in the early pages of the book.
I got to know many insights from Bollywood and other big-shot people from different industries like;
• Gulshan Grover, one of the prominent Villians of Bollywood being so nice in terms of nature

✨ When I looked at the book and read feedback from The Most Respected Author, Ruskin Bond, the book already made an impression on me.
And I would say I am not disappointed at all.
✨ This book revolves around the author's fun yet beautiful adventures and encounters with celebrities across the world during her job.
✨ Well, when I read how much the author herself is involved in Marketing as well as customer relations and hotel management, I was quite positively impressed by her job.
✨ We all hear about stars personal or professional lives from media, interviews, newspapers, and social platforms all the time.
✨ Reading from a common audience perspective was delightful yet realistic.
✨ She shares her encounters with various celebrities, not just from Bollywood but also from Hollywood, sports, and politics.
✨ It will give you an insight into how these celebrities actually engaged with a common audience, hotel staff, and it was quite amusing yet endearing to read those experiences, especially Arunaji's encounter with Hrithik Roshan—it was charming!

Although I know that a book should not be judged by its cover, I could not resist myself from picking up this book to read, the moment I spotted it.
'Hotel Adventures with the Stars' by author L. Aruna Dhir is an extraordinary book that I have recently read.
The Author has been in the Hospitality industry and because of her profession, she has met and interacted with many celebrities from different fields - whether it is Bollywood, music, politics, the arts or sports.
Whenever I thought of the lifestyle of a celebrity, I used to think that they are completely different from us. But in the stories narrated by the author I got to know a different side of them behind the veil of stardom.
Author's witty writing style made the book more interesting.
One of the best things about the book is that you can randomly pick any story and read it — all of them are stand alone stories drawn from the experiences of our author. I started with Chapter 8 where author's encounter with my inspiration Kiran Bedi mam is narrated beautifully.
