Jennifer Ann Ryan was born on 1963 in a small country town in New South Wales Australia. She has travelled in America, trekked Australia’s Kosciusko National Park, lived and worked on a wheat/sheep farm, played piano at marriage ceremonies, sung in a choral production, and worked in jobs ranging from Legal transcription typist, to motor mechanic’s office assistant. She currently makes her home in a small inland city in New South Wales, works 20 hours a week in an 'outside' job in the health care industry, and continues to write stories of hope and triumph for her readers around the globe.

As Jennie Adams began her writing career with the publication of her first two Mills & Boon romance stories in 2005. Her strong heroes and feisty, determined heroines have warmed the hearts of readers all over the world, with her books being translated into numerous foreign language editions. Although she fights the impulse, Jennie still tries to decipher each foreign edition when it arrives in the mail. Italian, anyone? An avid romance reader, particularly in the historical romance genre, Jennie is the self-confessed owner of an over-active imagination. When she isn't writing her own romance stories, or travelling back through time to enjoy the romances of Dukes and Duchesses, or Knights and their Ladies, Jennie keeps her imagination busy writing articles and short stories on anything from alpacas to gardening to visiting the zoo. Her articles and short stories have been published in magazines and periodicals in Australia and overseas. In her downtime Jennie tries to grow flowers, sends silly gifts to friends and family, is exploring new forms of musical entertainment, and endlessly studies the human condition wherever, in whatever form, and as often as she may do so.

Good book. I really liked both Stacie and Troy. Stacie had moved away from her family to try to move on from her broken heart. She had her job at the almond processing plant and her home business of making dog clothes. She had decided that would be enough - she had no need for a man in her life. Troy had purchased the plant and the farm next to Stacie's as a new career after the loss of his army career. He felt that he didn't have the emotional capability to care for anyone, so he too was going to be content alone. As they were thrown together by work and the antics of their dogs, they began to become friends. Then the friendship started to turn deeper. As things turned more serious, neither thought the other truly cared. Troy was also worried that Stacie couldn't care for him because of his injury. I loved the conclusion, and the dogs were adorable throughout the book.

The leading lady is a dumpy woman with tacky nails who lives in the middle of no where, making those obnoxious clothes for dogs...needless to say I was excited to read this, but her quirkiness was majorly underplayed and the writing is so bad it borders on unreadable.

There was a lot of set up in this but not a lot of pay off. The couple meet, and live next door, and share a dog, and work together. With all that time together how did they NOT fall in love jeez. It's alright, but pretty bland when all is said and done. I'd say skip it.

Forgettable. Didn't really hit the boxes of either boss hero or plain jane Cinderella heroine. Neither really comes up the way I wanted it to based on reading the back of the book.

I enjoyed the characters, Stacie and Troy. They were both very likeable, but each living with serious insecurities. Overcoming those insecurities means overcoming betrayals from those closest in their lives. It was good to watch their relationship begin as friendship then bloom into more.
