There are a few misconceptions about vampires I'd like to clear up. No, we don't sparkle in the sun. We don't turn into bats to fly through the night. We don't all look as good as Wesley Snipes in black leather. I'm not related to Dracula. When I tell people I'm a vampire, I get one of two reactions. One - pure, abject horror. Two - an all-consuming morbid curiosity. Those who recoil think I'm joking, that I have some sort of mental deficit, and they're in the presence of a crazy person. They offer to pray for me, they make the sign of the cross, and they splash vodka sodas in my face. Those are the type of people I like to avoid. You can only ruin so many nice jackets before you take the hint... I wasn't always a vampire - twenty years ago, I was a normal 25 year old kid named Bryce. All of that changed when Camilla came into my life. One night of passion changed my world, and when I woke up covered in blood and wholly transformed, life as I knew it was over. Bryce was dead, and I was given new life. Camilla vanished, and for twenty long years, I never saw her again. When Camilla reappears in the small town I now call home and makes me an offer I can't refuse, it's all I can do not to follow her like a lost puppy. Will she be my savior or my downfall? It's nothing personal, it's just blood lust.

I am not going to come down on this book too harshly. Primarily because this book taught me something about myself. I am not a fan of short reads. They are such a disappointment.
As far as the content… the author could have really took this storyline somewhere. It had potential. Writing style was decent.
Now to go through my kindle and delete every short read I own.

What a ride! The funny references in the beginning had me losing my damn breath. I absolutely LOVED it.

The ending I was NOT prepared for but welcomed it.

This was a short and steamy read with an amazing story to be told. I throughly enjoyed it.

The author gifted me this audiobook, so thanks, Olive! This short read was super spicy. I wasn’t sure about the story at first, since we hear the narrator explain his life for the first couple chapters, but the spice gets spicy once it kicks off. If you like vampire smut, you’ll enjoy this.

The enjoyment that I had from the get go of the story as the lead absolutely smashes any and all references that comes with being a vampire. Such a beautiful way to make everyone aware that the author and the character are both self aware enough about the kind of book that they are apart of. Aside from that, short spicy and to the point.

Sometimes you just need to read a really quick smutty vampire book to reset your mood and at 50 pages, this one does just that. I do wish it had been slightly longer to better establish some deeper tension and chemistry but it got the job done and if you're looking just to dive into something without investing a ton of time into connections, this is it
